Press I Bought www.harborfrei...
We are starting to buy a few tools that I have needed for a while but haven't bought. In the past I have used friends presses to do a trunnion upgrade. I have also taken axles places to have bearings installed. With Kohens Corvette we will need to do a trunnion upgrade and I thought it would be a good time to buy a press for the shop. I didn't need a huge one and didn't want to spend a small fortune. I know they make way better ones but for what I do this will work great. I found a few on amazon I wanted but ultimately the shipping seemed to be an issue. I bought this 12 ton press at a Harbor Freight and in this video I will show you how to assemble it. The instructions are not great and I had to go back and adjust a few things. All in all I am happy and look forward to using it for years to come. So far I think it is the best cheap or budget shop or garage press you can buy. We have NBS Silverado, OBS Silverado, C6 Corvette, WS6 Trans Am, 1954 Belair, 1955 Belair, 1952 AD Chevy Content all coming soon! Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

HF has gotten alot better over the years, Presses are nice to have and there are a ton of upgrades available
I agree with that on some of their stuff
Press looks good for the projects you'll use it for, their stuff has come a long way in the last few years. I have a 5 drawer , 4 drawer tool cart a 42" and 27" rolling tool chest all by U.S. General for quite a few years and they are holding up great. I sold my craftsman tool boxes and replaced them with the U.S. General and haven't been disappointed yet. I purchase pretty much the same consumables you mentioned luckily the store is about 5 miles from home so i stock up when they have a sale. A lot complain about the products there but hey you should know why they're cheaper than other places. ✌🏻
I agree they have came a long way
I believe that there should be a welded plate on that channel, that the jack should bolt down to with allen head screws at 2 of the 4 corners of the jack's baseplate...
I fwlt like it should have one too
@@TWAMotorsportsI wonder if you received an "old stock" one, or one that slipped by in quality control.
I went out to the garage to double-check mine, and it definitely has a welded plate for the jack to mount to, so that it won't slide off under pressure.
Instructions don't show it
@@TWAMotorsports Mine definitely has it... My son and I went to HF this morning to grab welding supplies that we needed... Checked their 12 and 20 ton display models, and they both have it...
That's interesting
I heard one guy refer to Harbor Freight as Hobo Freight. Thought that was pretty funny. 😂😂😂
He isn't wrong in some I have been in. Lol
Should have went with the 20 ton.
Can't please everyone
I bought the same 1 when I put the cal tracs on my 03 Silverado worked great
May nees it for that down the road too
There's going to be a goodguys car show at the Texas motor speedway April 26-28 will u be coming down here?
I don't think so
@TWAMotorsports that sucks. I'm still debating on going but I'm sure I won't be able to just so I can save whatever money I can
@rubenr7650 I would love to but probably can't
@TWAMotorsports the Texas motor speedway is about 30minutes away from me do idk yet. It has been several years since I last went to a good guys car show
Please don’t press your finger 😂😂😂. Yikes!
Lol. I hope not
Yeah I don’t blame ya concerning HF stuff , I’m the same way . I look at it like a lot of the stuff is simply disposable use it a few times and throw it in the trash . I prefer to have much better quality and still have it and useable years later.
I agree. Some stuff works ok
