I’m guessing the silence of the drop is because the composite bushing is not metal and metal, resulting in less noise? But Is a composite bushing as durable as bronze bushings? And any issues that they used hard chrome for the sleeves as opposed to fully stainless?
Yeah I think you nailed it. The materials lend themselves to quieter use, but the sleeves are also much tighter. I’ve had a few new Ohio Bars that have more “play” than this one. So far the chrome sleeves haven’t bothered me at all. There’s a little rust transfer from the inside of my plates, but nothing that a simple wipe down doesn’t fix.
Zero rust, even on the damaged areas of the barbell. And, trust me, if it was going to rust it would haha. I battle the humidity all the time with other pieces.
Nice comparison
Thanks brother!
I have the American Barbell Grizzly power bar. Love the knurl. Does not tear you up, but sticks just fine.
Nice! They really do make exceptional products
Have you tried the rouge Ohio bar 2.0S silent bar? Would the clanging on the rogue be quieter than the elite power bar?
Very helpful review--thanks! How does it feel with heavy deadlifts?
I just recently had a lifetime deadlift PR on it! So, pretty good as far as I’m concerned haha.
@@Levi.Jaeckel Congrats on the PR!
American Barbell products are what I'm interested in seeing more about. Debating on the CA bar and training bar.
I agree! They fly under the radar, but they make incredible stuff.

How's the rust in FL after the summer humidity?
