Stan Lee actually explained this, he said he did that because he had a terrible memory and naming his characters like that made it easier for him to remember their names. (Because if he remembered one half of their names it gave him a clue as to what the other half would be.)
While I can relate, I do have to wonder why it never occurred to him just write their names down...
@@DomWeasel Writing them down gets a bit unruly after a while. He has created hundreds of characters. It's just a easier way to remember by giving the names a sense of rhythm.
Bro, my rl name is Iris Rush. You'd ASSUME since it's small and 'unique' people would get it right.... nope, for the past 39 years my nickname is 'irish.' :/
Raj seems to have zero grasp on how helpful this trick can be for writers and authors. If Stan Lee hadn’t done this, he would have had WAY too many choices of possibilities for character names. At least by using this, he made it easier to narrow those possibilities down somewhat. I’ve done this with attack names for characters I like to write about, and I can honestly say it really does help.
Great, thanks. I have always wondered ever since I watched this episode.
0:15 The way Raj says J. Jonna Jameson Jr. 😂😂😂
who is she
Its him!@@viseshseernam39
"Jonah"
Michael morbius, miles morales, wade wilson, bucky barns, jessica jones, betty brant, scott summers
Bucky Barnes isn’t a valid one, because Bucky is a nickname, his full name is actually James Buchanan Barnes.
@@marckempe2143 i no, but cap and every1else goes by that name
@@Deadmancrawler a nickname is how people refer to someone, whether it’s what they’re most commonly known as is irrelevant, it’s not his actual name.

What's wrong with alliteration? It makes things most magnificently memorable!
Truer words have never been awesomely, accurately, and accordingly alliterated.
@@MichaelSmith-nb2ibI see what you did there
@@decoderhacker4062
Awesome alliteration shall not be incredibly, and ignorantly insulted.
I can't believe Penny took Sheldon to Stan Lee's place after being put in jail for a couple hours. All because of a dislocated shoulder. lol 😂
Raj paid for that, didn't he? 😂
At least Sheldon’s proud of the restraining orders
Exclusive one of a kind personalized memorabilia
Just like Josh was with Oprah's lol
😂
Why did Stan Lee call the police on him? He told Sheldon to come into his house. That was his fault
@@Nameless82284
No he didn’t, penny went to Steward, got the address and they went over
oh, it's not just marvel: lois lane, martian manhunter, guy gardner, red robin, blue beetle ,etc.
DC has far less of that than Marvel.
Wally west, Lex Luthor, J’onn J’onzz, Zatanna Zatara, Rachel Roth (aka Raven), Dinah Drake Lance, Dinah Laurel Lance, Ronnie Raymond, Cassandra Cain, Billy Batson, Freddie Freeman, Guy Gardner, Hank Hall, Boston Brand, Buddy Baker (aka Animal Man), Preston Payne (the 3rd Clayface), Hector Hammond, Sam Scudder, Felix Faust, why am I doing this, this is pointless
@@hadensasser4937the realization at the end😂😂😂
Just gonna throw Wonder Woman in the ring
Clark Kent, same sound not same letter tho
I sometime wonder if Sheldon would have been able to make it to the Stan Lee Meet and greet at the comic book store if he had just paid the $500 during his court trial.
Fr
He would’ve. It’s what I point out to his defenders when they blame Penny for his actions
@@jessedellross3245 i mean, penny waas the reason he was there in the first place. its still her fault.
@@alexhazel but he would’ve gotten out of it clean if he hadn’t been an ass. Thanks for making my point
He would've still pissed off Stan Lee and gotten a restraining order. Like when he met Leonard Nimoy.
The alliteration is to help him remember character names, he had a terrible memory
But at the same time the alliteration is kinda catchy
I am pretty sure its to make their names roll off the tongue better and so are more memorable.
Raj has a point.
But I also admired Stan Lee for naming his characters that way too.
All is good in nerds world !!! 🤣
Raj asked for it, never poke the bear but did it anyway
Marvel characters who don't rhyme : Nick Fury, Johny Storm, Ben Grim, Tony Stark, Thaddeus Dugan (Dum Dum is a nickname. His real name is Thaddeus), Norman Osborn, Edward Brock
Jack Russell
“Dum Dum” Dugan’s name is Timothy Dugan.
General “Thunderbolt” Ross’s name is Thaddeus
Tony Stark’s name is Anthony Edward Stark.
And the names don’t rhyme, they’re alliterations.
Steve Rogers, Peter Quill, James "Logan" Howlett, Thor Odinson, Janet Van Dyne, Hank Pym, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanova, Carol Danvers, Jen Walters, Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes, Ben Grimm, Marc Spector, Julia Carpenter, Erik Killmonger, I could go on
Frank Castle, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, Marc Specter, Steven Grant, Jake Lockley, Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Natasha Romanoff
Am I the only one who wants to know what Sheldon did to get a restraining order from Leonard Nimoy?
*Knock knock* Leonard Nimoy
*Knock knock* Leonard Nimoy
*Knock knock* Leonard Nimoy
@@Arielnovakthat's not an explanation.
Mickey Mouse. Donald Duck. Roger Rabbit. Clara Cow. Ronald Reagan.
All comicbook characters have the trait.
This led to the classic mistake of "Peter Palmer" in one of the first Amazing Spider-Man comics
Walter white... You goddamn right 😅
Kim Kardashian, Mads Mikkelsen, Kaley Cuoco, Wil Wheaton, Ryan Reynolds, Danny DeVito, Marshall Mathers...
Kaley Cuoco isn’t technically an alliteration, although it sounds like it. “K” and “C” are 2 different letters.
Kris Kristofferson, Sharon Stone
Also Wade Wilson ( Deadpool )
Some of those alliterations have no validity, the Silver Surfer, Green Goblin, Millie the Model, Fantastic Four, DareDevil, Invincible Ironman are simply handles people are also known as.
“Dum Dum” Dugan’s name is Timothy Dugan, Pepper’s name is Virginia Potts.
Ehhhh, this joke doesn't really land. Mainly because when asked why, rather than give his reason he just starts listing examples that nobody asked for. And then just never gives a reason after that. Even Sheldon at least gives reasons - however insane - for the things he dislikes.

Transcript:
Raj: I can’t wait to ask Stan Lee why he insists on giving all his characters first and last names that start with the same letter.
Leonard: Oh, come on, why would you do that?
Raj: Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Stephen Strange, Otto Octavius, Silver Surfer, Peter Parker, oh, and worst of all, J. Jonah Jameson, Jr.
Howard: Okay, I’m cutting. I’m not gonna talk to Stan Lee after you cheese him off.
Leonard: Look at that. To my friend, Leonard, from Stan Lee, Excelsior!
Howard: Awesome. Mine says, To my friend, Howard, from Stan Lee, Excelsior!
Raj: Mine says, To Raj, from Stan Lee.
Howard: That’s ’cause you pissed him off about his character names.
Raj: Hey, I didn’t even mention Dum Dum Dugan or Green Goblin, Matt Murdock, Pepper Potts, Victor Von Doom, oh, and worst of all, Millie the Model.
Raj: Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Invincible Iron Man, Happy Hogan, Curt Connors…
Howard: Would you just let it go?
Raj: And worst of all, Fin Fang Foom.
Leonard (as Sheldon enters): Hey, where’ve you been?
Sheldon: I’ll tell you where I’ve been. You boys may have had gelato with Stan Lee and gotten autographed comics, but I saw the inside of his house and got an autographed application for a restraining order.
Howard: Sweet.
Sheldon: Plus, I get to hang out with him again at the hearing. This is going to look great hanging next to my restraining order from Leonard Nimoy.

Mine says
"To the God of Marvel, Stan Lee
From your #1 fan."
Stan Lee responds, "EXCELSIOR"
What was wrong with Stan Lee giving his characters first and last names that start with the same letters? I don't see why Raj is upset over that?
Raj forgot to mention Scott Summers
I guess the writers wanted to brag about their comic knowledge and used lesser known characters(but they did use Spider-man and Hulk but you can also argue because of how popular they are ofc they're going to be mentioned)
To answer Raj's inquiry, it's because alliteration is both memorable and pleasing to the human mind
Loki Laufeyson
Hank Pym
Johnny Storm
Dr. Victor von Doom
Erik Lehnsherr
Jean Grey
Big words from Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali
Osea Sheldon tiene una servilleta autografiada por leonard nymoe y una orden de restricción?
Autograph signs are different from legal signs.
Omg imagine them finding out he passed a few years ago, god they wouldve been crushed.
Because they are easier to remember. It's for the reader's sake.
The fact that Penny had to have been the one that took him to Stan Lee's house
Alliteration is the word I think
I wonder how Sheldon would react if he realized those restraining orders are celebrities ways of saying they don't like him or want to see him, instead of looking at them like autographs
He probably knows, he just doesn't care
Sheldon knows what it means. he doesn't care. and ah yes, and it was exactly written for Sheldon to say this because that's the joke! that for Sheldon, a restraining order is better! it's a sitcom, get it, or are you still too slow?
@russelconor8704 You're obviously slow since you didn't understand the question, maybe I should've drawn it in crayons for you, that might be more your speed
@@Joseph-gm3qmIn Drake and Josh, Josh knew what restraining orders are for and when got one from Oprah he didn't care he was just happy with the signature so maybe Sheldon did the same here
Raj can be an unnecessary douche at times. He wonders why he's alone.😂😂😂😂
Does Sheldon even understand what a restraining order is?
Well it does count as an autograph…
Being in a contract to not be near someone is a personal relationship with that person even if negative. The other fellas are just unknown fanboys to the celebrities.
he does understand, it's clear. he has his own contracts/agreements and with his IQ, of course, he knows but he doesn't care. and that is a joke, it's a sitcom, for gods sake
In Drake and Josh, Josh was happy with the autographed restraining order he got from Oprah despite knowing what it was for so 🤷
Not all of Stan lee’s characters have the first and last name starting with the same letter for example Tony Stark is one of them and Steve Rogers
I’ll grant you that for Tony Stark but Lee didn’t name Captain America. That was Joe Simon
Yes but I also forgot about Scott Lang aka ant man
@@ericbridgman8469 True. And Lee also created the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym
well he's not completely right eitther, clark kent??
That is dc
For a smart guy raj is pretty dumb.
That was the entire theme of this show. A bunch of scientists and engineers doing and bickering about stupid stuff. The laugh track made it even more painfully cringeworthy.
Is Sheldon banned from Comic Con?!😂🤣😂🤣🎊🎊🎊🎊
I wouldn't be surprised nor would I blame those who banned him lol
He canonically isn’t and he refused to hire a scalper specifically because he didn’t want to get banned
He should have said "Matt Murdock" instead of "DareDevil"
He does at one point
Ben Parker
May Parker
Howard’s jacket looks like the one Andre wore on the Nickelodeon show victorious
Minnie The Model???? Who?!
Had to look it up and Raj actually said Millie the Model. She seems to be more of a humor comic book character. She's basically just an attractive model.

Fair point by Raj.
Gwen Stacy
Why is he so clueless about personal space if he's so smart?.
That's the point, he's clueless, it's a TV show mate.
As Leonard puts it "he is not that type of smart"

I'm pretty sure Raj would be complaining Wes Anderson always uses the same actors if he watched movies directed by him
