Other great songs by him are; "Endless Summer nights", "Hold on to the Nights". He was also a great song writer. You recently reacted to "This I promise you" by Nsync. Richard Marx wrote that.
Should've Known Better is a great 80s pop/rock song from him (his original, not his remake). But Hazard was #1 in Australia for about 8 weeks and tells a great story of a murder. Early 90s
Amazingly I do know this song, but couldn't remember the name of Richard Marx! Fabulous singer/guitarist/pianist etc. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide! Just incredible..💝💝
Richard Marx is amazingly talented - singer, songwriter & performer. His live shows are like listening to his cd’s. MANY hits. His 1st hits were “Don’t Mean Nothing” & “Endless Summer Nights” He’s written songs for the likes of *NSYNC, Barbra Streisand, Luther Vandross & Keith Urban
Richard is an incredible singer songwriter from Chicago ❤️ Now and Forever is amazing. ""Limitless " his 2020 album is wonderful . Another one Down, Front Row Seat, Love Affair that lasts Forever. He is still writing great songs after all these years ❤️
I absolutely love Richard Marx his songs will always stand the test of time I can play the intro of right here waiting on keyboard which I figured out for myself and on guitar as well such a beautiful song Richard Marx has many hit songs
Richard Marx is one of my favorite singers. He has many hits, including songs he wrote for other artists. He wrote or co-wrote some hit songs that Keith Urban had. If you want a rockin song of his, try “Satisfied.” At the time, he was married to Cynthia Rhodes, who is an actress, dancer, and singer. They were married for a long time, but divorced in 2014. He is remarried. He’s still singing, having released an album in 2020.
I don't know why but in the 70's 80's and 90's there were so many amazing artists with amazing voices and today there's nothing except artists like Adele and lady Gaga
So happy you include Richard Marx on your channel 🤗💕I absolutely love your reactions. Richard is anything but a one hit wonder. He's still active, actually on tour right now and worked with numerous great artists like Luther Vandross who he was friends with, Billy Joel, Nsync, Toni Braxton.... List goes on & on. Other great songs except for those of the 80s - silent scream, whatever we started, another one down, when you're gone, the way she loves me, now & forever, at the beginning, hazard. Thank you for everything you're doing, stay safe and healthy. Love you 💋
One of his biggest hits of his career, it spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 1989, finishing as the 11th biggest song of that year. At the time, he was married to Cynthia Rhodes, who was the female lead dancer from "Dirty Dancing" and this song was written for her as she was making a film in South Africa at that time. They have since divorced, he is now married to Daisy Fuentes
I'll always remember this song because my cousin had the lyrics to this song hand written in her notebook. That's how much she loved the song. We were just kids but the song is so great.
I haven't listened to Richard Marx in forever, but thank you for reminding me about how much I love his music! Hazard is definitely my favorite by him.
He has quite a few hits. Check out Hazard, Should've Known Better, Satisfied, Hold On To the Nights; there are too many to name, but all of them are great!
This has been one of my favourite songs since I was about 13, which by the way was like 25 years ago or something. My teenage self used to get goosebumps and cry hearing this 🤣🤣 Such an amazing, underrated song ❤
I have been a huge Richard Marx fan since his first album. Of that 80s-90s time period I would recommend Don't Mean Nothing, Should've Known Better, and Now and Forever. He's written so so so many songs for other people as well. Vixen's Edge of a Broken Heart is a personal favorite.
His albums are generally mostly rock but the ballads tend to be the bigger hits. Try Satisfied or Too late to say goodbye for something rockier from the 80s. He's still recording and touring. Try Hazard for something different, or Keep coming back.
If you specifically want to hear Richard’s vocal prowess, I think his greatest power ballad showcase is “Chains Around My Heart.” It was a lesser-known single, but his vocals on that one are out of this world.
1989 I believe. So just 80s. Remember it being in the UK charts for ages! Hazard was decent too. Now and forever is probably my fave though. Didn't know he was married to Cynthia Rhodes who was Penny in dirty dancing!
He is one of my favorites. I actually saw him in concert last year. He was still amazing after 37 years! His first album came out in 88’ this song is about his first wife. He tells a story about it. “Hazard” is amazing! “Now and Forever” “ Endless Summer Nights” So many. He actually does Dance with my father because he wrote it.His wife was in Dirty Dancing ( the blonde that was pregnant) which is who the song was written about now he’s married to Daisy Fentez
Anton, im sooooo happy that you made this review. Richard marx is one of the most important artist of the 80´90. His songs are so deep and profound, it what makes the 80s so amazing❤️❤️❤️
Right Here Waiting was literally the only slow-paced song on that particular album (Repeat Offender). He has no other, to my knowledge. He also has a duet with Donna Lewis for the animated film Anastasia. That's worth checking out.
This was the very first song I remember listening to as it was released the year I was born (1989). It was a hit and was also one of my mom’s favorite songs.
He is still around today. Does his own albums and writes/produces for many artists. This song he wrote for his wife at the time he was touring and barely got to see here. Was a love letter to her. He however didn't want to publish it. But she told him he would be crazy if he did not. So he did on his next album; Repeat Offender. It became his signature song.
14 top 10 hits....he wrote songs for almost everyone...including NSYNC (This I promise you)...Kenny Rodgers...John Farnham...Cliff Richard...list goes on. He was discovered by the great Lionel Ritchie and was a back up singer for him at 18 years old. He sang "All night...all night" on All night long Lionel Ritchie...lol. he had so many hits....incredible song writer and in his own right a star of the 80"s and 90's. He even gave Keith Urban a No 1 hit. Check out some of his other songs...he's amazing...🎉
Man that's bring back memory the first time for me visiting the states (US) in 1989 while we were driving in LA high way heading to the Universal Studios and the road was so incredible and the air was so fantastic at that time
Richard was on tour in 2021 and just celebrated his 77 th birthday this May. Still writing music and singing. No "mullet" anymore but beautiful white hair.
Ah...I bought this song on 7" when I was 13! Was a big hit here in the UK. I love his voice. 'Angelia', 'Hold On To The Nights' , 'Chains Around My Heart', 'Should've Known Better'. Some great songs to discover 🙂👍
🙂❤ Sweet reaction. I was in high school when this song came out in June of 1989. So beautiful and simple. And very different from all the over the top '80s songs that were out there. Felt like this song was everywhere in 1989.
Richard marx is basically the KING of sappy 80s soft rock love songs, but I mean this in THE BEST WAY possible. You're right about his voice, of course, it is a magnificently distinctive powerhouse. Angelia is his very best, I think, and a FANTASTIC example of him letting rip a bit more, but there's also Children of the Night, Hazard, Hold Onto the Nights, Over My Head and Should've Known Better. He also did a PHENOMENAL cover of the Rolling Stones' Wild Horses.
Richard Marx married Cynthia Rhodes famous for her role as Johnny Castle's dance partner Penny in The movie Dirty Dancing! She starred opposite Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey who played Johnny and Baby!
There are a bunch of great songs listed in the comments already, so I’m going to tell you one of my favourites that is not well known. It’s a collaboration with Fee Waybill, and shows a different side of him. It’s called “Remember Manhattan.” His wife’s name was Cynthia Rhodes. She was in his “Don’t Mean Nothing” video, and played Penny in the movie “Dirty Dancing.” She is a trained dancer. They’ve since divorced, and he’s now married to Daisy Fuentes. He’s written tons of hit songs for other artists.
Also Chaka Khan, "Through the Fire." She was the original, "I'm Every Woman." Actually Whitney sang backup on it. Either one is impressive. Chaka was Whitney before there was Whitney. Actually anything she does is amazing.
Others have mentioned his other great songs so I'll say something a bit different lol. Others have said Richard writes for others. He co-wrote Dance With My Father with Luther Vandross.
I heard Richard say he wrote this song for Barbra Streisand. He sent her the tape and she called back and said she loved the melody, but would need to change the lyrics. He asked why and she said "because I'm not going to be right here waiting on anybody."
Anton.....this is the best song ever written....REMEMBER ANTON: The 70, 80, & 90's those are the music that TOLD A STORY about life and love in general. So, if you can reach out to me I can give you my "playlist" of everything so hit me up bud!
One hit wonder? I'm shocked and appalled for you. Lol. Richard Marx is one of the most prolific singer/song writer/composers of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. He has released 12 studio albums, been nominated for 22 Grammy and Billboard awards and won a Grammy in 2004. He is still performing and writing songs today. Not just for himself but for so many other artists. For instance the song THIS I PROMISE YOU by N'Sync that you did on your channel...written by Richard Marx...SUDDENLY by Toni Braxton...Richard Marx...TO WHERE YOU ARE by Josh Groban...that's right...written by Richard Marx. Between 87 and 94 he had 14 top 20 hits and 3 number ones and he's sold 30 million albums worldwide. And he's written 14 number one songs for himself and others over 4 decades. He holds a special place in my heart since me and my wife's song was this song, it was the first song we ever danced to, and we had our first kiss during a Richard Marx concert....so of course this was also our wedding song. I put him and Hanson in the same category...genius musicians that don't get enough credit.
Great pick, Marx had a bunch of gorgeous songs. Terrific vocalist. His song "HAZARD" is exceptional (as is the official video), but my favorite would have to be "ENDLESS SUMMER NIGHTS" ua-cam.com/video/1NvsMKYgCsM/v-deo.html . The first time I saw the video for it I did a double-take on the female actress in it. She's a dead ringer for a lady I almost married back in the mid-80s. Like the song and video, she was pretty special, too. If you ever check it out, Anton, pay attention to what's going on with the saxophone and bass. Beautiful stuff. The music is so rich that it's easy to lose focus on the lyrics, but try not to because the lyrics are amazing.
Hold On to the Night is my favorite of his. He had many hits.
The only other (great) song I remember by Richard Marx is "Hazard"... He has a fantastic voice and just seemed to disappear.
“Hazard” is a masterpiece!
One of my most favourite songs of all time.
Hazard, Endless summer night, Angelia and Hold on to the night💯💯🔥🔥
There awesome songs hes one of my fav singers love to see him live
Hazard for sure is a must to listen to.
I grew up listening to, Richard Marx, Love , love, love his voice😊❤
Other great songs by him are; "Endless Summer nights", "Hold on to the Nights". He was also a great song writer. You recently reacted to "This I promise you" by Nsync. Richard Marx wrote that.
Don't forget "Now and Forever."
Endless summer is just so damn amazing
Don’t forget Dance with my Father by Luther Vandross. Richard Marx wrote that song too.
richard marx - hazard
“Satisfied “ is the Richard Marx song you after as an up tempo full band number
This is a song about his wife who plays penny in dirty dancing 💃 and I’d recommend because you loved me by Celine Dion
Richard Marx is so SMOOTH, authentic, and a natural singer. Check out his song Endless Summer Nights.
Should've Known Better is a great 80s pop/rock song from him (his original, not his remake). But Hazard was #1 in Australia for about 8 weeks and tells a great story of a murder. Early 90s
Endless Summer Nights is my fav. FYI he wrote This I Promise You for Nsync
So had a crush on him back in the day 😍 and jealous of his hair 🙄😄
When the auto tune doesn’t exist. The best music in 80’s, 90’s
This song made me fall in love with Richard Marx. I'm sure many other women felt the same, lol!
Amazingly I do know this song, but couldn't remember the name of Richard Marx! Fabulous singer/guitarist/pianist etc. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide! Just incredible..💝💝

Richard was on tour in 2021 and just celebrated his 77 th birthday this May. Still writing music and singing. No "mullet" anymore but beautiful white hair.
He has always been one of my favorite artists, and so underrated!😟😩
This is one of the all time biggest ballads. I consider it top 10. Just a amazing song.
I loved this and Hazard. One of these artists that should have been more successful; albeit he was for a while but not enough. Thanks Anton.
Richard is just now starting to tour again. Yeah!
Ah...I bought this song on 7" when I was 13! Was a big hit here in the UK. I love his voice. 'Angelia', 'Hold On To The Nights' , 'Chains Around My Heart', 'Should've Known Better'. Some great songs to discover 🙂👍
Uff hermoso! Roquero renegado! músico extraordinario , artista integral ! Amo su música
He still releases on occasion to this day
You’re right- his voice reminds little bit of Bryan Adams’ voice. As a huge Bryan’s fan, I’ve always liked this and some other Richard Marx’s songs.
🙂❤ Sweet reaction. I was in high school when this song came out in June of 1989. So beautiful and simple. And very different from all the over the top '80s songs that were out there. Felt like this song was everywhere in 1989.
Love him so much. You should definately react to his song Now and Forever.
GREAT song
His first wife ,Cynthia Rhodes, is a retired American actress, singer and dancer.
This song was released in mid-1989. So, late 80's.

Richard Marx is 🔥🔥🔥
He was married for many years to the dancer actress who played the girl in Dirty Dancing who was blonde and got pregnant.
I love this song 😍😍😍 it holds so many memories for me 💞
I cry every time I hear it... very, very beautiful and very emotional. I love “Satisfied” by Richard Marx, very different from this, and very catchy.
Richard Marx married Cynthia Rhodes famous for her role as Johnny Castle's dance partner Penny in The movie Dirty Dancing! She starred opposite Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey who played Johnny and Baby!

Ready To Fly is one of my absolute favourites, plus One Man, Eternity, Satisfied (ok, basically every song)
Still writing, recording & releasing music
Hazard by Richard Marx is hauntingly beautiful. It's magical. U should give it a listen. Much love Anton
This went to #1 for 4 straight weeks in Fall 1989 and sold over 1,000,000 copies in theUSA
Also Chaka Khan, "Through the Fire." She was the original, "I'm Every Woman." Actually Whitney sang backup on it. Either one is impressive. Chaka was Whitney before there was Whitney. Actually anything she does is amazing.
"Hazard" is a great song. It's so haunting.

Well he has a lot of hits I let you here the ones I love
- Angelia
- Hazard

My senior prom theme in 99 was his song “Now & Forever”.

The music is so rich that it's easy to lose focus on the lyrics, but try not to because the lyrics are amazing.
how beautiful are you.Love this song ❤
You really need to hear the song "Hazard" by him. It is a very unique song by him.
My suggestion would be Anita Baker, pretty much anything, but especially "Sweet Love." It's epic!
I can play this on piano! And sing.. Well not sing. I can sound awfull trying to sing this 😁 Richard Marx is older now but still a great singer
Angelia...is my favorite
