Forget the lone piper... The entire procession of music was powerful, shocking at times. Some of that procession music made my knees weak and cry. I wish we could get streamed audio of it without these news people talking over it. This is some "once in a lifetime" music we won't hear again.

The most touching , profound , giving me chills part of the funeral was the Queen's Piper playing this Exquisite and slightly sad tune especially as he walks away and it gets quieter ... reminding one of someone roaming the Hills til they are out of your sight .
I sent this to some friends ; pity he talked over the beginning and didn't speak just before the piper played .

as you can tell, Her Majesty who I was lucky enough to meet years ago, loved the bagpipes. Prince Charles as he was praised her piper Scott Methven (from Stirling) a few years back saying to him "whatever your doing, keep doing it"-it really did wonders for her. She was one for a joke too, taking the pipers arm one day and telling him "you only got the job because your the same height as me" She will be absolutely irreplaceable and unforgettable.

It was their Regimental Colour that was draped on the steps of the catafalque during her Lying in State and it was their Camp Colour that the King laid on the coffin to be buried with her after the Mace, Orb ad State Crown were removed. because it signifies where the Commanding Officer is. And she was their Commander in Chief.
Very special lads as 2 weeks ago they were on duty in Iraq.

He played as did other from 9am till 9.15 am every morning...The pipes are trully a rousing instrument ... Being English/British during moments like these makes me feel very lucky and proud...The Queen really was soemthing special

I was watching from India and was heartbroken by news as I was watching documentaries of her may she be in heaven forever
The whole event from start to finish was just astounding in its depth of meaning, precision, the military but especially the music. The choirs were just glorious.
Many decades ago I was a boy soprano ( Pueri Cantores in the UK) and all the descants, fabulous harmonies and counterpoints they were doing so beautifully just made me weep and recall things I had forgotten. Some good, some bad.

You could be right about that ... when I first heard this as he walked away I believe one gets a distinct image of somebody leaving , roaming the hills ... getting farther and farther away .

Me and Woody.EXE also cried all night when the Queen died and we both became the 2nd king and Queen of the uk. As a Queen, i hardly show emotion in public apart from the Queens funeral and Remembrance Sunday. I am glad Woody.Exe chose me as his Queen

I couldn’t be more proud of my country and my late Queen. The nation collectively did her proud. A fitting send off to one of the most remarkable ladies to have ever graced the earth.

First, Sleep Dearie Sleep is not a Christian song. I was rather disappointed with the choice of choral music esp as England has such a treasure trove of very moving music. Even the Lord Is My Shepherd has a better melody (the one used on the Vicar of Dibley) series. Look at Diana’s funeral for moving music.
