  • I pre ordered the locker as soon as it was available, waited weeks and here it is! this is the install video and test drive. I will put it to the test and see what it can do on some hills and crawling rocks.     ATTENTION!
    1.) Remove all “Chicklets”, Gears and washers from inside the Differential Case: When you split the case in half the contents will fall out. The chicklets are small trapezoidal pieces of metal. Remove the Chicklets, Gears and thrust washers. The inside of the case should be completely empty for the Locker install.
    DO NOT USE THE STOCK THRUST WASHERS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CASE
    Torque specs for the ring gear 74 ft lbs
    How the locker works, copied from Torq Master
    So the basics are, 2wd will feel just like stock. In 4wd you will never slip a wheel ever again. In 4wd when driving in a straight line, both front tires are locked in at the same speed, both receiving torque. When you go to turn, the locker can ratchet to allow the outside wheel to spin faster than the inside wheel to help you steer easier. The harder you are on the throttle in a turn, the less the locker will ratchet. For those who like to ride hard and fast, you can let off the throttle going into the corner, let the locker ratchet, then get on the throttle at the apex to power out of the turn.
    items needed
    RTV or silicon to seal the diff housing
    Loctite
    80/90 hypoid gear/shaft oil or whatever oil you will use int your front diff
    I recommend changing axle seals while working on the differential
    make sure your gears and bearings are in good shape
    an impact is nice to get the ring gear bolts off
    Custom pliers or tool for the driveshaft circlip is helpful

    Has the locker given you any problems yet I haven't talked to anyone that has done it yet your set is about like mine

      Haven’t had a single issue. I think the locker with the bypass makes a nice setup

    Is this a ratcheting locker like a Detroit? Can you hear it ratcheting?

      You can hear it some, it only Rachets when not accelerating, it’s locked under acceleration. I’m pretty happy with it. The turning radius isn’t affected much which is great IMO
