    There's an easy way to do it, fold the front seat BACK and lie it flat, put some cushions in the boot to raise it up to the height of the reclined seat. Easy. I'm 183cm, and I just use a couple of cushions and a sleeping mat, simple.

    I'm glad you're making it work for you. I tried that in my Yaris and it got uncomfortable after a few months. I'm a side sleeper but the body usually stretches out at various points throughout the night and never being able to stretch out fully got old. Mad props for y'all die hard people. I can't do it. Oh! Just be aware, you're going to cause problems with your neck if you keep it bent up like that. You're seriously stressing your vertebrae at that angle and eventually your discs are going to start bulging, or your bones are going to start growing in weird, "shouldn't be doing that" ways. A few nights a month may be fine but months at a time is going to cause problems.

      Are you camping solo or with someone else? Did you try laying diagonally or did you just have a single mattress?

      I do plan on upgrading to a larger rig, but not until Honda releases a Hybrid Honda Odyssey.

      -The seat brackets will not line up correctly if rotated 180* The rear bracket sits lower then the front bracket.

      @@HondaFit4Adventure I’ll have to try laying that way! Didn’t even consider the option. Big challenge for me is keeping the back seats available for use-I let my parents use the car as an alternative to their minivan, and they need the extra seat for my much younger sibling.

    Wow, a guy your height going in this car - amazing! It looks like there is room in the car for the seats to move further forward except Honda did not build the seat tracks to allow this. For me I would look into modding the passenger seat to slide further forward or recline the passenger seat down to horizontal. My Mazda 5 passenger seat reclines to horizontal after I removed the second row seat behind it. Interesting vid.

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  2 роки тому +4

      Before I removed the back seats, the Honda Fit had something called the "Magic Seat" The front seat would fold down perfectly horizontal but... the rear seat would still remain upward like a lounge chair. Honda really missed out by not having both the front and rear passenger seats being able to lay down flat together at the same time. It would be an even better little work horse.

      Hi Surf Ghost,
      A. I'm currently sleeping laying the opposite direction with my head towards the trunk. I feel like it's easier to stretch out, even without putting your feet between the seats.
      B. I was going to remove the passenger seat this year and have the driver seat and driver rear passenger seat in the car. Unfortunately I couldn't make it work the way I wanted to because the rear driver-side seat is the largest one. The JDM fits also have the largest rear seat on the left side so a JDM seat swap wasn't an option, lol.

      I'm at the limit. The seat was one of my main concerns on my first test drives. I felt it needed to go back another 2" to be comfortable. Day to day driving isn't so bad, but I do find discomfort on longer trips.

      @HondaFit4Adventure  Рік тому +2

      Great question Sam and I can't believe I forgot to include this.
      I have 30" of head room. If you used a regular mattress pad you could easily gain another 2"
      I started sleeping the opposite way with my head towards the trunk. I found it easier to stretch out even without putting my legs between the seats.
      The downside of laying the opposite way is that there is only 24" of head room which was quickly noticeable but not to big of an issue just to sleep.
      If I need to sit up and use the computer I'll still sit with my back towards and leaning up against the seats.
