That ending with "The Blade is me" was so perfect, with the reveal of "Zangetsu" as well. Truly a lot of self discovery for Ichigo this season, who he is, what his powers are and where they come from. Amazingly done.

Remember when “Zangetsu” said, when Ichigo grieves it will rain ever so easily in his inner world? When Ichigo got told who he really was, it started pouring heavy rain when he started talking to him. And when “Zangetsu” told him he really wasn’t Zangetsu, Ichigo’s whole world literally collapses. I can’t imagine a better plot twist this series had that had so much foreshadowing built up to it. This episode was the perfect way to end this Cour.
Also flooding in Ichigo's inner world signifies despair. When Ichigo was forced to confront Old Man it started raining and when Old man admitted to not being Zangetsu Ichigo found himself flung into depths of despair something that took Aizen the entire Arrancar arc to do.
@@Artanis99 it's not that he didn't admit it...he didn't accept the name. That's why Omz clarified he used Hichigo's power the whole time & used his to suppress most of Ichigo's power
I mean almost every major was foreshadowed brilliantly by kubo.
People give way too much credit to oda while not even close enough to the required respect to kubo.
Bleach is the best of the big 3. The only one of the three that is comparable to the big three of seinen.

This is now old news, but in terms of insane foreshadowing, just go take a look at the manga, chapter 110 last page, I'm not gonna say more to let those who don't know discover this on their own.
Remember at the beginning of Bleach, When "Zangetsu" try to tell his name to Ichigo, it's like censored. That's why !

Likewise, remember when during his Visored training, the Inner Hollow outright called himself "Zangetsu".
It would be so cool if they start cour 3 with a remake of the scene where Ichigo meets "Old man Zangetsu".

I still think that's because Ichigo isn't ready for shikai instead of him not saying his real name.
Other than using zangetsu's name, he never pretends to be his zanpakuto spirit. He just let Ichigo misunderstand him
Ichigo's hollow never lied he straight up told Ichigo that he was Zangetsu.
Fun fact, Kubo (Bleach's author) left many hints throughout the entire story. A few that comes to mind is when Ichigo was fighting Kenpachi for the first time and old man Zangetsu used a technique to stop his bleeding (Quincy Blut Vene), when he used his Fullbring Getsuga Tensho the shape looked like a Quincy Cross and Ichigo's bed in his room also has a cross on it.
When Yhwach was first revealed in this arc, so many people said he was a Zangetsu clone and that his design was lazy. I’m sure can imagine they must’ve felt very foolish after the reveal.😅

I don't think he made up that much back in time. More likely he put his previous works to new interpretation.

As all the cousin thing was a cover up for Masaki to live his daily life without having "scandal" of living with a guy as a student (It's not allowed and usually ends up in expulsion etc)
And Masaki calling Izumi "aunt" is just a thing that didn't get translated well into English, cuz in Asia, we call all older women as aunt whether they're blood related or not. It's a cultural thing.
Of course they are related through Yhwach's blood but not related enough to be "cousins".
go back to ep 19 of og bleach at 13:00 time stamp. you can hear the last word "ha" when zangetsu tried to tell ichigo his name "yuhabaHA"

Zangetsu (White Ichigo at the time) also says it, saying "Ore Ga Zangetsu Da"

@@iamdarkphantom I was just giving another example of them using 'Da'. It's common for both Zangetsu and White Ichigo to say 'Da' after reffering to their name.
You can double check the manga panel, but basically Zangetsu says:
私だ (Watashida)
BLANK (Name)
だ。(Da)
Yeah, Kubo was dropping and sprinkling hints from the very beginning. “The Blade is Me” 🔥🔥
It makes sense why Ichigo Getsuga tenshou colour is blue in his shikai form in the early of the SS arc.
Isshin's Getsuga was also blue while fighting Aizen
It’s actually yellow in the manga. Studio perriot simply changed Ichigo’s getsuga and Naruto’s rasengan to blue even though both are yellow lol
This is one of the big reasons I love bleach. Most of the time when a character gets stronger it is through reflection and understanding themselves and their power. Orihime before getting kidnapped accepted she isn't a fighter and her healing became more broken, Chad realizing the connection he has to hollows, many soul reapers not using the right names or repressing themselves, the fox accepting his heritage and beastly clan, uryu using more quincy equipment and gaining more skills and powers, and soifon for doing everything to create her own path similar to yoruichi and abandoning her bankai stopping part of her growth(sadly).
From what I understand from this episode is, the sword he has been using up until now was a Quincy sword because it appeared out of nowhere, it was never a zanpacto . It also explains why he picked up 2 blades but Oetsu only forged 1 . And i also understood that white wasn’t lying when he said “I am zangetsu “ and his goal was never to take over Ichigos body but to protect him, the one time he did take over he said “I will protect you” talking to ichigo not orahimae
Since nimaiya explained ichigo that white was created by Aizen in a very similar way he created Asauchi I’d say that zanpakuto was actually the results of his hollow powers. Also he has two blades because he has another power beside his shinigami/hollow which is the Quincy power, plus his dual wield is his shikai, not the sealed form. Dual wield can happen only if you don’t have just your shinigami powers in you.
A zanpaktou is the blade of your soul. Does that mean it's your friend? An ally? Family? Lover? None. It's simply You. Ichigo didn't knew what he's but now he finally knows who's he and loves himself. This is the point where Ichigo's character development finally ends
When Zangetsu first revealed his name in the manga, the line was blacked out, but the word "斬月(Zangetsu)" is too short to fit in the blacked out line, and "ユーハバッハ(Yhwach)" fits perfectly.Sorry for my poor English.😢
In the anime version, you could hear ------ha when he says his name.

On the Blu Ray in every flashback Ywach was replaced by his 1000 year younger self, aka Old Man Zangetsu.
so a few things ichigo does not actually have hollow power the hollow is his shinigami powers it merged with his power at birth. its just that since part of the original source was hollow it takes on some aspects. the reason for him having all the hollow masks was actually white/zangetsu taking over his body to protect him manafesting his powers physically like how his bankai was always a effect on his body.
Still my favourite moment in all of anime... "Zangetsu, You are Me."

- This episode is so important because it effectively finishes off Ichigo's character development. As we all know the Zanpaktou is representative of a Characters self progression and Here Ichigo finally gets a Completed Zanpaktou. Both parts of Zangetsu finally accept Ichigo because Ichigo finally accepts and loves himself, Which is something he couldn't do given his trauma.
-Throughout the entire show Ichigo's Quincy power never said he was Zangetsu, in fact, the first & only time that part of Ichigo's soul spoke its name, we could not hear it. More important is that if you go back through the story "White" always told us that he is Zangetsu. Think about the entire SS arc, it was actually White that kept saving Ichigo. Kubo loves writing in this fashion where he blends Metaphors and Foreshadowing to make the viewers that pay attention cling to a false understanding.
- Some still question "Then how did Ichigo have a Zanpaktou all this time". The hollow "White" was made from Shinigami Souls, so practically Ichigo had something akin to an Asauchi, yet made with a hollow as a base. This is also why whenever he got stronger as a Shinigami, His hollow powers did as well because his Shinigami and Hollow Powers are one.
- It's really cool how Kubo uses Ichigo being a mixed breed to show that he has Quincy Powers, we can assume that this Young Ywach looking being existed in all Quincy, but unlike Ichigo, Quincies can't visit their inner soul...only Shinigami can, so Ichigo would be the only one in existence able of experiencing this.
-This part of Ichigo that looks like Young Ywach seems to carry Quincy intent, yet also seeks to protect Ichigo. I always found it fascinating because this Quincy part of him believed becoming a Shinigami = Conflict and suffering so he actively tried to keep that from happening. I still wonder if maybe this belief comes from Ywach himself.
- The long Blade is representative of his Shinigami & Hollow powers and the short blade is his Quincy powers.
- Bleach blends Buddhist themes and Christian themes when crafting its lore. Buddhism has a concept known as Samsara and within that concept, you have something known as 6 Paths, 3 of them are virtuous paths and the other 3 are unbenelovent paths...One of those "bad" paths is the Animal path, which plays into Komamura's clan being beast.
Prepare for round 2 for the quincy invasion in cour 2.
Uryu s VA is also Sasuke VA that's way same us Naruto and Sasuke
Ishida made a plan with half a mind while he had a man who could see the future.
It was at this point we realized that both Ichigo and Kenpachi used only a small fraction of their power when they first fought. If they were to fight again without being suppressed who knows how much destruction they could cause.
In regards to Ichigo's sword, it was really the Hollow the whole time. White even said it multiple times early on in the show that HE'S Zangetsu. Obviously both helped him, but White was/IS his Zanpakuto

now if you guys go back and see the white ichigo's lines back from bleach anime , you will realize that white ichigo was hinting us this whole time that he is the ichigo's real zanpakuto powers . Also fun fact : both ywach and zangetsu was voiced by the same voice actor
It's common to say that Ichigo is a mediocre character but in reality he's deeper than you think.
its arc is the discovery of yourself, of your roots, knowing that you have a light and dark side, none so good or bad but that they are part of us and that once accepted we will be our best version and we can finally move forward.

And take note, it's not just a Twin-Blade Zanpakuto which is considered only one Zanpakuto. Ichigo really has two Zanpakutos.
The blade is me.. words cannot express the depth of this series culminating into this last arc. It's unreal to think Ichigo is an angel of death (shinigami), a demon (hollow), an angel of light (Quincy) and a fullbringer (human)

If you don't want to be spoiled by Ichigo Kurasakis' new Bankai don't use his Bankai in the Jump Force game.
It has his newest redesign plus his new redesigned Bankai.
I know this to be true because I spoiled it for myself when I prayed it at the time and at that very time I've not known yet that they've rescued Rukia just Yoruich trolling Ichigo for her transformation from an adorably cute Cat to the coolest member of the Stealth Force.
basically from episode 1 up until that point Ichigo has only used 10% of his power. Ichigo is HIM.
Ichigo actually has 3 powers, his Hollow is a mix of both his Soul Reaper and Hollow powers. 4 if you include what little Fullbring he has.
To my understanding,
Fullbring is kinda a human+hollow power.
So it's kinda a sub category of his hollow power.

Imagine it being like an hogyoku that allows the user only "one" of their deepest wishes. Fullbringers are essentially Meta-Humans as it is said in the novels. This is all novel info.

it's dual sword but not really two zanpakotu. The longer sword is the sheath and the shorter one is the blade

It is dual, i'm pretty sure there is symbolism in that, since the longer blade has a hole inside of it as a shape of the shorter sword, as hollows have a hole in them and both swords are complementing each other as one is part of the other, etc., kinda jenius tbh.
All Zanpaktou have a Blade and a Sheath. Ichigo just happens to have a blade as a Sheath, giving him a 2nd blade. No one person can ever have 2 Zanpaktou though, because a Zanpaktou is literally your own soul. You can have multiple Zanpaktou Spirits (which translates to multiple blades), but they are still one Zanpaktou.
