Some great ideas! We also have a snack box for the car, but ours is square and fits under the seat. A couple of suggestions - save all the ziplock bags you have your snacks in and use them as a garbage bag for the snacks that have their own wrapper. You might also consider adding drink powder packets, like instant coffee, hot chocolate, teas, electrolyte mix ins, where you only have to add them to water
I love seeing the two of you together. Jim brings out Pam’s silly side - cute! I would have had the scales out to divide the pretzels. Glad to see Pam can turn off her inner scientist and just make baggies without giving into the need for absolute precision. Does my heart good 😊
I used to drive a 1970 VW Bug. I kept a 5-gallon bucket with a lid and an umbrella. If the car broke down, I had something to sit on and the umbrella would keep the sun off while waiting for a tow truck. If you have a breakdown, it is safer to move away from your vehicle whenever you can so that you don't have to worry about someone hitting you if they aren't paying attention.
Jim - you could poke a small hole in the chip bag, squeeze the air out and then put the chip bag in a plastic bag, and seal that tight. That will give you more room for your snacks. Pam - Jim did say "Gama" lids! 🤣
Absolutely have food in the truck all the time. Yeah, chocolate stores in there only in the winter, but I have remembered it when leaving for summer errands, LOL. I make my own snack bags, too, and there is a large juice container with water that I change out regularly. I have one of those 'fabric' shoe organizers over the front passenger seat hanging in the back seat, which holds a few pieces of plastic silverware, flashlight(s), a half-roll of paper towels (dampen with the water for clean hands), baby wipes, too, etc. Edited to add: toilet paper, of course! ALSO: As a former volunteer firefighter/EMT, I have some rescue tools as well. A window punch, seatbelt cutter, duck taped in the center console. As a horse/dog person, I also have a small dish in case I have one or all dogs with me, I can water them. Leadropes in case there is a loose horse, or to use on the dogs (I don't buy leashes, I have leadropes). Yes, on a few occasions I have come across a horse grazing on the side of the road, caught it, and put it back in the barn or handed it to the owner! I also always have ratchet tie downs, balin' twine, and of course, stuff in case I have to walk home. News truck, so highly unlikely, but I have had to walk home in the snow when I couldn't afford nicer vehicles. While on a 45-mile trip to buy a rototiller, we got soaking wet, and thank goodness I had a fairly warm coat in the truck because we stopped to eat (a treat for us), and the place was absolutely freezing. In July!
Great idea! I used to always make "trail mix" whenever my friends and I would go on daylong road trips. Peanuts, raisins and M&Ms mixed together and divided (evenly, of course)😊😇 It may be cheaper to buy them in bulk if you have a Sam's Club or Costco. If you *really want chocolate, try Tootsie Rolls. They stand up to travel and heat. That's what was suggested putting in troops' care packages. Sorry, no Snickers.😢
Almond m and m's keep fairly well. I keep some in the camper along with other nuts, and jerkey. Yah, ikeep so.e hard candy too for sweet attacks...like peppermints, or lemon drops, or butterscoth disks.
Goldfish crackers and candy corn (with plain M&M’s too, if permitted) mixed together, SO GOOD! Sweet n salty popcorn, or homemade Salted popcorn with sugar baby candies, Dot’s honey mustard pretzels, Regular “Combos” (they come in pretzel ones too) freeze dried apple slices, are some of our favorites!
Another good video. My favorite car snack is freeze dried strawberries and chocolate candy. Thank you guys for always providing interesting and useful information.
I love roasted nuts, but so many times they taste rancid, so I buy the best raw organic nuts of every kind and roast them myself. Soo much better! Then I mix in dried fruit and m&m's. I always take a small plastic glass to pour them in then I don't get my hands sticky. Great idea! You two are so cute! 💕
Oh my gosh, I can’t have that much in my car, I would have it all eaten in a week! Lol! I do have some in my go bag, and such but it’s not that easy to get into !
What size buckets and where to purchase? I like that you can see through them. I don't see them on your Amazon store list - only the 5 gallon lids and the gamma lids that fit 5 gallon. Thank you!
You know, since you folks have your “freeze-dry lab” available, you might take a hint from the Asians and make some seasoned green-food smoothie bars for a little nutritional punch. Otherwise, you can buy various seaweed snacks premade.
Where do you get those buckets? I have been looking for some. It's easy to find 5 gallon buckets but I would like some of those smaller ones. Do you have a link? Or a source in Southern Utah? Also, it's really fun to watch the two of you together.
Is it possible to freeze-dry butter? Does it make ghee easier or harder? Is ghee the same as what Graham Kerr called "clarified butter"? I can google and get opinions- or get scientific *facts* from you!

I love this idea! You & Jim are just too cute❤

Love seeing your other half with you, ma’am. It makes a nice presentation. You two are a lot of fun together
Awww love you two. Great video as usual and a great idea having a snack bucket,🌷🇨🇦
You two are amazing! You are enjoyable to watch. I'm adding this idea into my sons vehicles. They travel from Dover, DE to Bensalem, PA frequently.
This is a great idea! God Bless you both, great fun to watch you!
Love the idea of snack buckets. Some packaged breakfast cereals make great snacks, too.
Love you two......having snacks in a bucket is a great idea!
Fig "Hard Tack" 😂 looks like a Halloween Haul LOL. Fun video 🥳💞🌻🦋
Those Dots pretzels are the best! Expensive but really tasty!! I need a bucket like that in my car! Lol
Omg! You two❤ I love hanging with you😊
It's not a road trip without snackkies!

I love Sugar Babies! It was always a HUGE decision whether to get them or a Sugar Daddy at the movies. Mixed with popcorn sounds so good!
Y'all are so cute together. ❤️
It looks like trick-or-treat!😂❤ We are about to go on a short road trip with three teenagers. Thanks for the reminder to pack snacks.
Like 2 kiddies in the goodies bag lol. 😊
Dried fruits....apricots, raisins, figs, cranberries,prunes...etc
Another good video. My favorite car snack is freeze dried strawberries and chocolate candy. Thank you guys for always providing interesting and useful information.
Great idea. I would take original bags...takes up more room. But usuhubby would want to stop for beef jerky
I’d add some jerky for a quick protein 👍🏻 is a fantastic idea!

How long and at what temp would you roast almonds? I have some I would like to do but have never done it before. Thanks
Take care yourselves ‼️
Got to have snacks. It’s a must! lol
Oh my gosh, I can’t have that much in my car, I would have it all eaten in a week! Lol! I do have some in my go bag, and such but it’s not that easy to get into !
You can freeze-dry Hershey chocolate candy bars!
What size buckets and where to purchase? I like that you can see through them. I don't see them on your Amazon store list - only the 5 gallon lids and the gamma lids that fit 5 gallon. Thank you!
We rotate our car food twice a year

Chocolates go in your ice chest!😊

Ask at the bakery of the grocery store. They sometimes charge a fee but that is OK with me.
@@krisqueen5939 Thank you. I will try that. I don't mind paying for them.
I get mine from Azures
I've never had a snack bucket. If I did, I would eat until it was gone. Then be very miserable.
Melts in your mouth, not in your hand, LOL😁 Are those 2 gallon buckets?
I love this idea! Where can I buy buckets like yours? They are the perfect size.😊

What does B M land mean ?
Bureau of Land Management. BLM is federally owned land not privately owned.
@@dianastephenson3919 OK. Thank you.
