I jumped right in and soon jumped right out. I simply could not get it to work the way they promised it would. Desktop app froze up continuously and could not back up anything from an external drive. The web app not much better, could not show my computer and would just keep on loading and loading (those rectangular blocks) - and after a long wait I gave up. Cancelled and deleted the app from my computer (fortunately no big loss - signed up for the special $7.95 for one year, which I have cancelled). I am amazed how the so-called reliable computer/tech online magazines give this a "this is the best" rating". I have now purchased additional OneDrive space (tied into Windows for work and other reasons) and it is so much easier.
Thank you, I've just signed up. . . Do you know syncing my photos and media works both ways? I don't know if I should give it a chance or if I should just delete some of the old photos from google.
Interestingly, it looks like there is actually an option to share your files with others. However that's turned off when you activate 0 knowledge encryption. Looks like you have to pick one or the other. (I'm not sure how others get around it, if it's at all possible).
Great video as always Mauricio! I'm a little bit puzzled anyway... I'm looking for a cloud backup service, zero knowledge, working in the background saving everything to the cloud, at least 30 day history (for ramsomware) and if possible a sync folder so I can at last have my phone synced with mi PC… looks like iDrive ticks all the checks for me until I see the users reviews… both in internet as well as in your own website… People really advise against this service… I’m puzzled and don’t know what to believe :/
Great video as usual but at the 4:50 mark to 5:10, you talked about Idrive not selling your info and also law enforcement requests, if its zero knowledge how would they be able see your data? unless you're referring to sign up info such as your name , email address etc. and not your data......
Hi! Yes, that's exactly what we're referring to. Every online service needs to process some of your data, however limited, and all of them need to comply with the law to provide what limited data they have. IDrive doesn't collect much apart from your email and payment info and stuff like that, and it certainly can't allow anyone else to access your files, precisely because it's a zero-knowledge service.
The review here is bad in my opinion because it says the speed is fast but the reviews from many people in the comments is that it's very slow. Sorry, this is not a good review. You should not test it yourself. You should have other people test the speed. Your location could be a factor.
and about storage if not renew? idrive erase or maintain like the others ? i m asking cause in the payment place in idrive website show that will be erase !
Nope, rather go for cloud storage apps such as Sync, Dropbox (becoming too expensive) and many others. iDrive is a back-up app, and not very good at that.

did you get a refund?
Same. Its was FING awful.
Wait, I'm confused. If it's zero knowledge, how are they able to share my data with authorities if "I'm the only one who has the key"?
I kinda regret signing in with them. Their website is rarely up making it a problem when accessing files from a different computer.
I had issues with very slow upload speed with Idrive
Best 24/7 customer support Really!!!
States link to 90% discount is in description - fails to put link in description. Nice.
2.3mb upload speed when I have 16gb normally , it’s trash

I can't watch my uploaded videos, on web browser
they have set a limit to something like 500MB for video files to be watched from the web to avoid streaming

Believe what the users say - stay away, not a good app in my opinion.
@@eddiebarendse9249 thank you Eddie. A pity, because on paper it was what I needed.... not much options :(
@@CiroPerez Hey I'm probably a little late but backblaze looks like a good alternative
Mauricio, is there a back up service that'll let you, God forbid you need it, recover around 2TB of stuff in a very SHORT amount of time?

I can absolutely confirm … super slow and sometimes down …. too many people on it
What are the differences between IDrive Mini and E2?
and about storage if not renew? idrive erase or maintain like the others ? i m asking cause in the payment place in idrive website show that will be erase !
which one is the best against Ransomware?
I want to use it as 'storage' for easy access; I want an extension of my PC Computer?
Nope, rather go for cloud storage apps such as Sync, Dropbox (becoming too expensive) and many others. iDrive is a back-up app, and not very good at that.
can i accessed from the Finder on macOS, allowing to view and manage files directly in my file system without taking any space on my computer?
Is the iDrive Mini plan now available in the US?
I drive, you drive, we all drive for ice cream.
Thank you.
Thank you
is idrive down?
iDrive is crap and INCREDIBLY SLOW. It is not at all fast.
Agree 100%, stay away in my opinion.
What’s the best option then?
But is there any comparably priced option?
Concur 2.3mb upload speed , I have 2tb to upload
And the sync piece simply doesn't work.
This video is about What iDrive is, with no real insights into How to use it. Therefore this is just a sales pitch. Useless to the iDrive user.
idrive is FING awful. I swear all the reviews for it are shills. Its really FING awful. Tested it and dumped it a few days later its so bad.
3:53 Means nothing if its shit, which iDrive is.
This fucking Idrivedaemon eats my cpu to death, wtf, no use
very very slow in acccesing uploading data
