WHAT IS HIGH GRADE STONE?
Anything you can run a 1/2" or more flake with a pressure flaker.
HEAT TREATING:
Heat treat a few FLAKES of everything you got except HIGH GRADE Raw Stone, Obsidian, Dacite, Basalt, Hornstone, Sonora, Fort Payne, or Rhyolite. Start with flakes and spalls less than 1" thick for 200°F for 24 hours to dry it out. Then raise the temp to 275°F and hold for 4 hours. Let cool down for 12 hours. Chip and compare. If no difference, put back I at 200°F for 1/2 hour, then raise to 275 for 1/2 hour, then raise to 325 for 4 hours.

Repeat with temp going up 50°F until you reach 600°F or nice chippable stone. Whichever comes first. If no good result, or things blow up, let us know. - Навчання та стиль
Yea I did I couldn’t contain myself. Seeing how jacked up the rock was we’re Sure your 75% magician
Very few men on this planet earth are capable of making a Scandinavian blade like you made in this video. Absolutely you sir are one those few. Lost for words.
Thank you!
@@KnapperJackCrafty you're most welcome Mr . Jack. Thank you Sir for sharing your knowledge n teaching us a lost art form that we should never forget.
Jack Crafty: "I'm not going to make anymore big blades"
Proceeds to knap a 9" Danish dagger. 😆
.
Well done!
Had me a little on edge with that thickness in the middle but you worked through that mess like a champ. 👍👍
It makes me feel better when I say I'm not going to make long blades. Then when I do, it makes me feel better because I'm being sneaky.😁
Love that ringing sound
I watched it all. I could see you getting tired when you dropped the piece twice. The size of that piece made it the best pressure flaking video I’ve seen.
That session was worth the work.
That is super nice
You skipped to end... didn't you. 😁
Absolutely Amazing work!
Man I thought you were gonna say 🤬something out loud at 1:18:23. I could feel that through the video. But no talk or a lot of talk I feel like I learn something from you with every video. Thank you for all the education. I wouldn’t have the new hobby without you. 👍🏻
When you started this, I thought that thing was so fat, you were never going to get it thin enough.
You and me both.😁
That's outstanding! You are a master of the craft!
I see this and I’m insipired to keep flintknappping.
I have been looking forward to this.
Danish Dagger! Not many would take that piece on. I'm going to have to call it a Masterpiece...done by a Master. Thanks!
Thank you!
Awesome video! Nice job
Very nice execution
Got up and went to get a cup of coffee and started watching the video. I thought this is gonna be good. Long piece, big turtle back, not something I would do. I can see why this wasn't a yap knap video. Your strategy for making this is very informative and very skillful. You are without a doubt seriously skilled in the art. Don't have the words except to say very nice.👍

Professional
Beautiful!!
Wow! What an amazing knife and amazing work. I see why you aren't fond of big blades, but you handled it so well. Thank you.
Big blades are the devil.
@@KnapperJackCrafty Yup, I have tried😪
Awesome!
Can I buy the box of flakes?
Before the auction?
Ain't got enough money to bid with them rich foke. I built a ram rod like yours but it lays across the top of my leg, held on a spring. Not so much crampage of the leg.
Thanks for the knowledge and lessons.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to watch your videos I've learned a lot and hope to learn more.
The flakes I sell on the side are not nearly as good as the ones in the auction. You still want some? Send me an email to jackcrafty2@gmail.com
That's pretty slick Mister 😮😮😮
Thanks
Showtime! Ive been waiting for this one. Was good to meet you finally at the Brady KI. Theres not enough neolithic videos these days. I may start making some myself.
They are very intuitive and not complicated. The only difficult thing is to make sure they don't snap in half... like everything else.
Awesome work !!!
Thank you
Really nice 👍
Not bad dude.
Very nice
Enjoyed this
Thanks
Amazing!
Thanks!
That's just as nice as the one Will Lord made. Nicer if you ask me. I think he used a glassy black flint. It might've been a grey spotted flint. I can't remember. Either way, I prefer the brown stone and it's gorgeous. Nice work.
Thank you
Will lords doesn't even come close to this work. If you're talking about the DD he smashes out of obsidian.... smashes being the word. This work is a different league to will lord.
Отлично !
Sorry I said Scandinavian. I don't know why I keep calling those blades that. I do realize it's a Danish blade. I had to correct myself. I think there actually is a blade called the Scandinavian blade. Please correct me if I wrong.
No worries. I'm not a stickler for exact names these days.
Wow! a danish dagger out of chert. You mad man, lol.
Not exactly the most cooperative material is it? But you pulled it off.
Once again an impressive display of skill by a master flint knapper.
Thank you!
Very nice. I love to see the Euro patterns. I told you about that Danish book on flint tools, right? Cheers, Sean
Yeah, I think I remember you telling me about it.
Это не трудно надо убрать лишнее.😊👍
What is the material? I'm not very knowable on the subject, but I'm trying to lean. I'm a many great Grandson of OTzi. There's less than thirty of us that carry his DNA. I've been making bows and arrows long before I ever knew that I was related to him. There must be some of that carbon left in my brain, somewhere, because I'm fascinated by all of this.
The material is a variety of Costal Plains Chert from Georgia. You can buy this material from Jeff Head.

@@KnapperJackCrafty I've never seen something look so similar. Nice stone
So much nicer with your "chatter." Silence is boring.
Put on some tunes in the background. That's what I do. 😁
