4 decades of commercials for our 400th episode. When you see the 'year' graphics appear throughout the video, be sure to have a drink or a shot. I'll be sure to remind you :)
I don't know why these commercials give me a feeling of nostalgia, some of them where aired before I was born. I guess it reminds me of a time that was simpler.
0:25 Paul Kreppel from "It's A Living" with a mustache. 36:42 the late John Ingle from the soap "General Hospital", and in movies such as "True Stories" and "Amazon Women on the Moon". 41:29 Chantel Dubay, Barker's Beauty on "The Price is Right" from 1996-99. 50:21 Ali Landry and Sean Hayes in the Doritos 3D commercial.
@@zymaymyn I am a big fan of general hospital. John ingle played the second Edward quartermaine. John ingle was also in the Britney Spears video, toxic. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
22:02 Kasey Cisyk was one of the all-time best commercial session singers. Here she is singing for Purina. 13:26 Terry David Mulligan for The Gap. Classic tagline jingle, too! 8:35 If coffee was served in a 70s or 80s commercial, the rule was that a family member had to critique it. ;) 35:02 Jina Virtue. Now there's a cool name!
Thanks so much Dave I just close my eyes and I'm taking back to a awesome time home with my family, everybody's still here wow so heartwarming, a big Congrats to you once again thank you 💞💯💞
Congrats on 400! I've watched a lot of retro commercial videos on your channel and others, and this is one of the most fun episodes I've seen from start to end. Great job!
Haven't watched the video yet but I love this channel. I watch your videos to help me go to sleep. I'm not sure why it helps but it does. Thanks for the memories :)
Congratulations on the 400th video. I love it so much and I can't wait to re-watch this again and again and again because of the videos from the year 2000's. No one uploads videos from 2000's [looking for UPN]
Yay! Thank you! Yup, it's hard to find 2000s ads, especially when the age of DVR boxes started to roll in. I think we'll see a large gap of ads from the 2010s and up for upcoming generations due to the content being stored to cable company DVRs. Hopefully, there's a few folks out there archiving them to share for future gens!
"I'll never forget the first time I wore that blue dress. I thought it was ruined!" Spray & Wash should have redone that commercial with Monica Lewinsky in the 90s. 😁
You should make a compilation of commercials from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand from the 1970s to early 2000s.
@@DavesArchives Fair enough. I hope you gonna do commercial compilations from each American state, including the non-contiguous states of Alaska and Hawaii as well as territories like Puerto Rico and Guam.
22:03 omg kitties! T_T This commercial makes me tear up! 33:18 perv alert! :O (Dan Schneider) 50:22 suddenly, I'm depressed. I was a freshman/8th grader in 1998 and these commercials are so abysmal. Like, not good at all, and awful if you were a kid girl at this time.
Notice that there aren’t constant prescription drug ads. I know a Swede who came here for the first time and he found it odd that our commercials have so many of them. He said that if you’re interested in medicine shouldn’t you ask your doctor for it? True.
I notice how these commercials back then, the actors do all the product explanation instead of a narrator doing it. Plus there isn’t much music in commercials compared to today, they just add a jingle at the end
Why were the commercials so much better back then than the shit that's on the tv today ? All you see today are insurance and lawyers commercials and they are making an ass out of themselves.
God you need to find some Miller Outpost commercials with the old two cowboy guys from the Miller out Port Outpost I can still listen to them baby got shortbread short red shirt they made the best commercials ever Miller's Outpost here in California on the west coast I don't know about anywhere else but they just made the funniest God damn commercials and if you can find those that'd be greatly appreciated so yeah Miller's Outpost wow some of the funniest commercials I've ever seen from the '80s you know so wow I wish you could find them but I love all the other commercials that you're popping up with because they hit home I'm 60 years old and they all hit home with me I mean you know I actually wish I could go back in a time machine sometime and take some of my knowledge that I have now and zip back and then the way back machine you know and make money but that's another another thing but yeah some of the funniest commercials you know so with those two stupid cowboys that they had anyway everybody I can't even eat it I can't even it's everybody loves shortbread shortbread everybody loves you know sure yummy come on you know they did that kind of a thing so anyway it's like you got to find Miller Outpost commercials oh hey the the best grape in the bunch anyway there are totally funny so way before I got committing genius way ahead of their time so it's like as far as TV commercials go so good luck I hope you find them so and I probably could find them too I just haven't researched so I leave that up to you so keep up the good work my friend

digital editing is all the rage these dayz, a certain scene in a certain Home Alone 2 movie could be edited out with no damage to the story line. hell, the scene was edited in, it can be removed, just like it got removed from the WhiteHouse. by popular demand.
Seeing what commercials are today, it disgusts me how uncreative some of them are, it’s like some of them take forever to get to the point, or don’t make sense at all, then there’s the ones with really bad acting…
