I watched it a few times over and I think Minion just got hit in the head by Az's leg as he was turning around. Or I could be worng but 100% Az was trying to play nice before that and simply couldn't help what happened. I think that's why he laid down, to avoid kicking Lord Minion again.

What a contrast between the two of them. First you have Minion who is a small dog and in this clip is being a bit of a goofball. Then secondly in comparison, you have the huge Az who is remarkably chilled around around a slightly goofy and amped up Minion.

Minion playing with Az is the epitome of the big ol' puppy having to play nice when you can tell he really wants to go all out but knows Minion is just too small for Az to get any kind of rough with him.
"Giants have a big blind spot, under their feet" Which that yelp from Minion was from Az kicking him in the head as he turned around. But max kudos to Nate for training such a big puppy to be able to play nice when you could tell Az was being good and went even lighter on Minion after.

The size difference is hysterical. Nate, ur love, patience and training with them (all of ur pets) really shows. Az is healthy, well adjusted, and super gentle for being a 170lb puppy. And Lord Minion amazes me how active and healthy he is at 11yrs old. Thanks for sharing them with us ❤
Lord Minion is working hard in this clip. It takes a lot of effort to train a new dog and everyone knows that "Chihuahua" means "very large and in charge" dog. He's simply teaching Az to lay down on command. Good dog Az.

Oh my goodness! These two are absolutely adorable. Minion doesn't realize he's a small dog. He thinks he's a mountain dog. Hes little with the energy of thousands energized bunny rabbits. Minion is brave for such a little guy. I'm sure he knows you have his back and will back him up, if he ever needs it. These two pups are some of the best entertainment on UA-cam. I could watch them all day. Just love these two pups.
AZ is such an incredible dog. AZ is a gentle giant until he senses, smells, hears or sees a potential threat.

My 170lb Dane lays down and rolls over to play with my 30lb pittie mutt in the same way. It's absolutely adorable watching her stoop down to meet her sister when she exists and knowing that the giant one depends on the small one for a sense of confidence and safety. My Dane is terrified of life without her itty bitty pittie sister

I love right around the 10 minute mark where minion does those few squeaks in front of his face and he was like oh yeah OK and he lays down it’s like he knows minion can’t reach his ears so he’s going to be on his level
It was funny, right near the end of the video, Minion was excitedly playing with Az, and I think Az shoved him away with his back leg and Minion's happy yapping turned into a half squeal and immediately Az stopped and looked around at Nate and Jen. He's so aware that he could have been in trouble that he policed himself bless his big ole heart. He's so good with Minion and Minion really doesn't seem to care that he's actually small enough to feed to Az as a snack! Truly, dogs only understand that the other dog wants to play. Size simply doesn't factor into their minds bless em!
