With all the cancelations and match replacements and Travis competing, Devon getting his title taken and Genadi possibly being removed from the rankings this has to be one of the craziest 24 hours in the recent months for the sport lol.

Every weight class should have a Champion and a designated #1 contender for the title. IMO there's no clear contender in the 115kg class because Devon defeated Prudnik and no one has beaten Prudnik for the #1 spot. So for Engin to strip Devon for not defending is pretty unsubstantial when there is no clear contender and no viable challenges posted. Unless Devon voluntarily stepped down in agreement with Engin behind closed doors... I believe Engin has made a poor decision to openly "Strip" him for not competing

Agreed. Special treatment for special armwrestles should be Extra Money. Everything else should be same.
Roger Federer got special treatment because he was a special athlete. Nobody was against this decision because without those special people, the sport won't be what it is today.
I fully support special treatment for special athletes but not being unreasonable. Devon getting the title for 1.5 years without defending is special treatment so that should be maximum.

In my opionion Devon should keep his heavy weight title until end of this year. His been active since Prudnik match for 1.5 years now in 115kg and supers left and right. Guy just pulled Levan few weeks ago and it's crazy to me that your title is taken away from you when there has been zero possible right arm matches at 115kg that make sense and guy just pulled for ultimate rank1. That alone should reset the 115kg inactivity timer. Like is the title now free to next one who competes in that category? or is guy ranked #2 now the title holder

I'm pretty sure Devon has discussed this with Engin because in the previous plan Devon had said he would fight Dadikyan at 105kg and after that he would fight Ivan matyushenko to defend the 115kg belt.
But Devon has decided to take a break as he still can't fully focus due to his defeat by Levan.
Train very hard and the result is the same.
In round 1 it did make us surprised but that's it, nothing else.
Maybe Devon himself gave a suggestion for the title to be stripped because he might take a long break, potentially 4-5 months.

Devon is the most active arm wrestler out there as far as having matches. But when when you are at the top of 2 weight classes, almost 3, it’s a bit tough to do enough to retain all the titles.
If I were Devon I’d focus in on 1 weight class and run through it.

Engin had no choice in this one. As Devon is not committing to pull anytime soon. It's been over a year since he defended the 115 and if he's not active in the other divisions, there's no choice but to strip this one. But yea, as soon as he pulls again, we all know who is the favorite.
I said the same thing about Levan after not competing a year so should be stripped of title. So I believe same for anyone or class. Ideally they would all be like King Samushia, always defending the title, what a beast.

One thing that should maybe be touched on is how old and deflated Devon looks now that he's cycled off. In the last 8 years he's aged about 20 years. Its kinda crazy. You go look at his videos from 8 years ago and he looks and sounds like a teenage version of himself compared to now.

@4:30 there is a difference Pradeep. In the SHW division all the guys are competing against each each other and we have top contenders. At 115kg there haven’t even been any 115kg matches at EVW hardly. Nobody is competing at that weight at EVW thus no top contenders

If EVW stops, there will be a replacement, and new organizers will emerge. Just as WAL was replaced by EVW and KOTT, if EVW and KOTT stop, they will be replaced immediately as long as there are profits. Engin is making athletes sign contracts because he knows the barrier to entry in the armwrestling market is not high; he should make it higher
