This cannot a soap opera. I'm American and our soap operas are shit. Everyone is freaking related in some way and there are evil twins and kidnapping and that bull. This is heartbreaking, brilliantly written, stunningly acted, directed, and produced. This makes an American soap look like a lunatics ramblings. I am gobsmacked. Bravo, England.
I like how they forshadow aarons self harming storyline with aaron saying 'if he cut himself he wouldnt be able to feel it' its almost like he starts hurting himself in later episodes just to feel what Jackson would never be able to feel again :'). Though in my opinion aaron has always self-harmed even if its just him beating himself up emotionally and hitting things/people.
Yes, thats what i think as well. Borderline is developing in early childhood. Its a personality disorder, that hase many faces not just hurting your self with sharp objects but many forms of self-destructive behavior
Jackson is the most generous, forgiving, decent character in the whole of soapland and does not deserve this. Aaron- stop saying sorry and try saying 'I Love You' and a kiss or a caress of Jackson's face wouldn't go amiss seeing as that's all he can feel. Jerry- get your arse back to that hospital pronto because Jackson- for some insane reason- wants you there! Oh and Paddy- Rhona loves you really.
Wait, Aaron! "There's nothing anyone can do"? Oh no,baby, there's a lot YOU can do for making things better for him! Any suggestion? 1 - being there for him, that's all he wants; 2 - understanding that he LOVES you, that's NOT changed because of the accident; 3 - giving him caresses on his face, he needs to feel your touch and your warmth; 4 - kissing him softly, tenderly, he needs to feel your breath; 5 - telling him you love him, because we all know that's the truth... what both (next comment)
Wenn Paddy sayed: Look at me! Aaron looked so vulnerable but trusting. He trusts Paddy so much. These parts within the hospital Shows so much of there relationship. Its Paddy who cares. Its Paddy who is there for him and its Paddy who he turns to in his weakest moments for help and surport. Paddy really is his dad. Not by blood but by heart. Both of them feel that way. Thats amazing❤️
@jodezak (from previous comment) a thing I really like is that he doesn't fly off from Jackson under the excuse of feeling guilty. He's there for his love, he was the one who was at his side when the doctor told Jackson the truth, yes he was crying and shaking, bur HE WAS THERE!!!! Wow!!! As for Marc & Danny, you're right, they're really brilliant! :-)
I love what the writers did because they written one of the best soap storylines I have ever seen from and actors point of view [not that I'm an actor] but if I was I would have love to have taken on this storyline.
Seriously now: how can an actor nail every single performance over and over and over again like D Miller does??!!!At least finally we had an episode which is less heartbreaking than the previous one (not that it means much given the circumstances). And also: Jackson remembers what happened that night and still (in the situation he is right now) some of the first words he says are 'it´s not your fault' ??!!! Jackson is the loveliest and better person soapland has ever known!!!
This episode was just what the DR> ordered after yesterdays gut wrenching epi. Thanks writers! Jackson and danny actually showing respect. Aaron..Just be there for Jackson.. that is what he wants you to do.. that speeks volumes!
First time watching I missed these points. Seeing it again, the blame and self harm has just begun. Physical harm now makes more sense. I thought it was due to Gordon. Now I see there was more to it.
It is in a way due to Gordon, gordon is what messed aaron up in the first place. Aaron has unhealthy coping mechanism and doesnt know the right ways to express what hes feeling- so he lashes out, gets angry or/and hurts himself. He blames himself for what his dad did, ans thinks that it caused him to be gay- and that's why he hated that so much- he continues to blame himself for everything that happens to him and those he loves - Jackson, Katie etc.
Disabled or not, Jackson is the best character on this show! Even during the gloomiest of times, he still knows how make us smile. I've got the highest hopes for this guy. He going to beat this obstacle. I just know it!
Something just went through my head and I actually did laughed out loud in the midst of all this heart wrenching drama. Aaron and Jackson are back to doing the "cheeky flirt". A look here, a word there - a small touch. It really is the cheeky flirt. Writers set us up for that one - LMAO. I'm weird. I know. What can I say?
I'm so glad Jackson doesn't blame Aaron for the accident, that in itself shows the strength of his character. I really thought Jackson would push Aaron away since he remembered the accident and the events leading up to the accident ..which means he remembered Aaron saying he didn't know if he loved him. And I'm also glad that Aaron realizes the full extent of Jackson telling him how lucky he was when Aaron "came out"..."You still have your family, mates, your job, nothings changed,ur lucky..I know
Since this seems to be important to many of you - there is a difference between using the word "mate" when referring to a third person (as in "he's a good mate"), in that case it really means "friend", and you would not use it to describe someone you love. However, the way Aaron uses it here is to address someone directly. It''s more like "man", and can be used when talking to anyone, from a complete stranger to a close family member. It doesn't imply that Aaron thinks of Jackson as a mate!
The scene between Aaron and Jackson is so moving. I really think that all this will bring them closer as a couple, even if Aaron says "mate" when he really means "babe" or "love" (typical Aaron, unable to express his true feelings). I think that, maybe, the producers are keeping it a bit "low key" in a build up to a romantic story later on. Here's hoping, anyway! So glad they found Marc, who "matches" Danny's acting ability. They work so well together.
@megalyn08 this episode was a whole lot better to watch than yesterday i was literally bawling and speechless. Today showed me a hope and yes.. anger yet again at Danny still feeling sorry for himself :( Marc and Danny are brilliant actors and just love watching thier banter
Remember the song 'More Than Words' by Extreme? Aaron doesn't have to say the words, he just have to show that he loves him. And I think he has, at least for us, with the stroking his hand, and tasting the milkshake, and never leaving Jackson's side, that he just has to continue doing, and then to really show Jackson, a kiss or a touch on his face would be good.
@man2manva I never disliked Jackson, but I certainly didn't see his potential. Probably most of us didn't. Although some fans did quickly find him cute and adorable, I wasn't among them. I began to have a serious case of RESPECT for him when he pressed charges against Aaron. Right on! And ever since Aaron & Jackson became a couple, Jackson has been a rock, a beacon for Aaron to follow. Now, of course, we all love him dearly, and Marc's star as an actor shines brightly.
Marc Silcock and Danny Miller are two of the best actors around. I don't think teh writers would hinder their chemestry at this point.. it is only making the drama that much better :P
@Sophieepie I know.. I was amazed at how the writers are making Jackson's strength of character. I mean some can actually lash out but he is showing imense maturity in this and I for one applaude the writiing! and Marc's acting :P
@robertn800 I certainly see your point, but if you want to get really real, Aaron & Jackson are fictional, and they'll do whatever the script says. Jackson will probably slowly recover with the help of Aaron and others. And some day Aaron may even say the three magic words that Aaron & Jackson fans want to hear him say. If he does, it'll be because he means it. Viewers will be in tears, and ratings for the show will be up.
@ETSINTERIORS ...lots of feelings for the people in his life and he did not know what they were. I believe Aaron has grown immeasurably with this experience. I believe he does realize that what he is feeling is love, however, at this juncture, it would only come accros as guilt or pity. Aaron has to show Jackson he loves him. Aaron has to be there until the time is right for both of them to hear him utter those three words.
@ETSINTERIORS Also with the onslaught of finding out what he is needing to do to help Jackson might spur him into another jolt of emotion for him and I think Jackson would want to know that Aaron is just there. yes to say teh 3 little words would matter most but i agree.. he has come SOO far in his emotional life i now know he is healing inside as well as out.
i get that aaron might love him but i don't want him to say it now ... not after whats happened .... because jackson would never know if its just because of the situation that they are in and it would seem to cliche for this show give it sometime guys.....it'll come with good timing AaSon
For some reason I have a feeling that Aaron won't be with Jackson in the long run because of his true personality, his guilt for the things he has done in the past and now blaming himself abt jackson's accident:( in addition even he wants to be there and will do whatever to make Jackson feels better, he isn't the type of guy that will plan for the future and mainly because of his age and maybe a lilltle bit of his family background!
When Aaron asks and Jackson say's he's gonna be at Bar West. Aaron replies with, "Am I gonna get an invite or are you out on the ... (prowl -maybe???)" did anyone else notice that Aaron looked very upset that Jackson didn't reply - with an invite? 3.24
Aaron must know by now what his feeling are and i do believe he loves him but Jackson needs to here it and might just give him the hope he needs and craves
@samanthapetrelli Sorry, I didn't see your reply until now. Well, maybe Jackson's optimism may be unusual, considering he's a character of a soap opera, and in Soaps characters are used to react in their worst possible way, but for a change, I think it's a very good thing. After all, the doctor said there are "EQUAL possibilities" of recovering OR being permanently paralyzed, so it's possible that Jackson is trying to focus on the better hope, which I find brave and wise, for (next comment)
@AlanRM1000 oh heck.. lets just agree.. Danny Miller and Marc Silcock are the BOMB! the directors are really doing well with them and their chemistry is working well. I know there hasn't been much touchy feelly stuff.. but i think we are in for a huge change in that.. Has hope!
@Levad80 Well, I think that I might a possible explanation. Mind you, I am British; but I think I know enough to provide an answer to your question. People in UK greet each other as "mates" both loved ones and social acquaintances. Aaron's feeling to Jackson is of a very close nature; but he is still trying to make sense of the fact that he is gay and is trying to understand the whole idea of being in love. Being that he is just 18 yrs old, he is still trying to grow up & understand love.
Sorry to be a bother but can anyone tell me what Jackson says around 2:09? Something about blabbing? And at 3:22 Aaron says Do I get an invite...and then I don't understand the rest. Thanks to anyone that can help me!
@Sophieepie yes.. by him saying .. Just keep showing up.. speeking volumes. I mean it was his Dad that showed him he can't stand this.. but Aaron is showing just how much he does love him
@gclover916 3.22 Is "Do I get an invite or are you out on the pull?" He's joking with Jackson that Jackson will be out trying to chat someone up. 2:09 i think it's "She'll have it bad if she keeps blabbing" buti'm not completely sure. He's meaning he'll be having words with his mum for talking about his past.
@cpepper93 So much fuss over a simple word -"mate". In the US, mate is generally used to denote your significant other - your (soul)mate or in str8 terms your breeding partner. " "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet." It's Aaron's actions which speak volumes. I agree a loving caress to his cheek - a simple kiss would help, but give it up guys with the "mate" reference. Not everyone uses terms of endearments.
@AlanRM1000 this time better be a clean sweep for all award shows then.. for both of the actors as well as best female newcomer Hazel and best show.. emmerdale!
@samanthapetrelli I don't think he's grieving. I think he's waiting and healing, because that's all he can do. Well, he's also loving and appreciating the people who support him and wanting to connect. He's a positive person by nature, and that hasn't changed. But no doubt, he's worried about or afraid of what's going to happen with him.
@samanthapetrelli Mmmmm.... isn't it possible that he is NOT denying what happened and the fact he right now can't move, but just finding a way to face all this with Aaron? Even if he cried all day long, that wouldn't give him back the possibility of walking or moving his arms again, doesn't? Maybe he's just trying to be brave, which I find more useful than just desperation.... although I'd completely understand desperation, of course. Jackson is a really strong and sweet guy.
Aaron is not good at expressing his feelings verbally, he admitted that himself, so I think that is why he calls Jackson "mate". And isn't it so that in Yorkshire men are called "mate" and women are called "love" no matter if they are strangers or lovers? So I don't think that too much should be put into that.
You kno wone thing we have to look at right now.. Paddy is there for him.. and If They need money for Jackson .. Paddy will give it to him.. as well as I bet the town would throw money together for them. I am looking forward to seeing the town unite on this. :D
I really think Jackson will be able to walk again- his spinal cord just needs to stop swelling and start to heal- it hasn't been torn apart like Christopher Reeve. Plus, he can breath on his own-Great sign! He'll be back to his great ol' self----BUT will Aaron be there, while he heals or will he give up on him and move on? Jackson put himself on the line to tell Aaron he loved him. Aaron couldn't even say it was a possibility for the future. that he would say "I Love You" he's a jerk.
@dbfast British tv is the best in the planet. We don´t have this amazing actors and writers here in Spain. Or at least producers don´t go for these amazing storylines
The actors are superb. Its the writers I have a beef with. Remember writers, many many gay men watch this show because it has compelling characters and an awesome story line. I find it emotionally frustrating and unsatisfying how little physical affection (not to mention verbal) there has been between Aaron and Jackson. I'm not talking about x rated stuff either. Just more warmth, a touch, a hug, a light kiss, something...anything!! I watch gay themed shows and movies because I want some
@mssmp1 I think you would also cry if the one you love is in the position that Jackson is; especially if you think that you the cause of his condition. I think this is a lot for Aaron to deal with. He is riddled with guilt as well as grief over Jackson; not to mention the confusion about his attraction to Jackson and his sexuality is also adding to the internal mental health pressure.
@AlanRM1000 Yes, I saw that scene too. (Emmerdale and Corrie are the only two soaps I watch: though I much prefer ED at the moment). You are right, the "feeling" in the scenes is nowhere near as intense as the ones featuring Aaron and Jackson. It always seems to me that soaps always copy eachother. I read a review of Hollyoaks (which I don't watch) where a gay character beats up his lover because of his "guilt feelings" over his sexuality. Remind you of anyone?
@megalyn08 I don't know, still have my doubts... Like everyone keeps repeating "it's early days", but we know this will be on for a while. I don't think he is denying what happend, but the possibility that this is permanent. I confess his optmism surprised me, but don't know how long it's gonna last.
@samanthapetrelli (from previous comment) sure more useful than spending days just crying. He can't change what happened, but can choose how to react. So, GO JACKSON!!!! And... let's just hope that writers won't be too cruel to you, I think they were already cruel enough!!!!
I am hard pressed to recall a single instance where either of them has used any term in lieu of mate. Boyfriend, perhaps, but how many people walk into a room and say "hey boyfriend"? I seems perfectly natural that they each refer to the other as "mate". A caress to the face or a kiss would have been nice, however, an "I love you" would not have been believable. Besides, Aaron did not say he did not love Jackson the night of the accident. He said he did not know. He said he was having...
@jodezak Late reply, sorry :-) I liked this episode too, I like so much the way the boys are trying to face this situation together, I can see they WANT to go through this side by side, and I think this is TRUE LOVE. But I don't think Danny (meaning Aaron, right?) is feeling sorry for himself. I think he feels guilty, undoubtedly, but for what I can remember he never told "what happened to ME", as he'd do if he felt sorry for himself. He's blaming himself for what happened, but (next comment)
@sanyrub When James and I were in the general public - I called him James because that's who he was. In "friendlier surroundings" I call him James, because again, that who he was. At home or in my bed I called him "my everything" because that was what he was to me. Anything I called him was done lovingly - as a term of endearment. Well, 'cept when I would call him asshole - he could be that too - LOL.
cont.... emotional stroking that I can personally relate to and...dare I say it?,..live a little vicariously through, especially when it comes to romances. Not just the anger and tragedy type of emotional walloping you get out of this show. If this show's claim to fame is "reality" than I think I want a little more smarmy romantic scenes just to balance things out!!!
@frozenbaby2004 I thought I was the only one that noticed Jackson didn't answer when Aaron asked if he would be coming too. (It's pull, not prowl) Maybe Jackson didn't know what to say, because he is not sure what their relationship is anymore, it's been so off & on lately. I'm fairly sure Aaron still thinks that Jackson is his boyfriend, no matter what was said that night.
@AlanRM1000 If Jackson were glad that his dad has gone again, he wouldn't have asked about him. However, I don't think he's sad about it either. Sometimes when you've been hit (figuratively speaking) in the same area so many times, you start to grow numb to it. I'd say, at the most, Jackson may have been a bit disappointed, but overall, not suprised.

Near the end of this episode when Aaron was feeling guilty, Danny had me crying right along with him. Amazing!

I have been waiting for this update. Thank you for uploading. Danny and Marc are excellent actors.
I'm sorry. Its not your fault. Teared me up and the reaction from Aaron broke my heart. Keep turning up. Such love between the two.
so incredible good the last dialog with Paddy, so good, so good, no words to describe it
@AlanRM1000 Thank you so much! No wonder Aaron looked upset when Jackson didn't answer that question!

Hmm Kymba you do tease us all with your spoiler page :P
* in the words of hazel*
I got so many things in me head and none of them are good :(
@gclover916 3.22 Is "Do I get an invite or are you out on the pull?" He's joking with Jackson that Jackson will be out trying to chat someone up.
@jodezak Yeah, I'm having trouble understanding it today. I watched the video pausing it and rewinding it.
@AlanRM1000 this time better be a clean sweep for all award shows then.. for both of the actors as well as best female newcomer Hazel and best show.. emmerdale!
Do you know why they killed the character off? I need to why thx from Canada.
i was expect aaron give a kiss to jackson that'll be so sweet :)
@AlanRM1000 Thanks man, with the help of you guys know I now what they said. Hugs !!!
I really think Jackson will be able to walk again- his spinal cord just needs to stop
swelling and start to heal- it hasn't been torn apart like Christopher Reeve. Plus, he can breath on his own-Great sign! He'll be back to his great ol' self----BUT will Aaron be there, while he heals or will he give up on him and move on? Jackson put himself on the line to tell Aaron he loved him. Aaron couldn't even say it was a
possibility for the future. that he would say "I Love You" he's a jerk.
@AlanRM1000 so what do you say to your loved one? still mate? or what
@dbfast British tv is the best in the planet. We don´t have this amazing actors and writers here in Spain. Or at least producers don´t go for these amazing storylines
@megalyn08 Yes he was there.. that spoke volumes to Jackson that he stuck around where his father wouldn't
I watch gay themed shows and movies because I want some
@AlanRM1000 You're right, Jackson is the sweetest guy all over the world!
What's the first stage of grief? Denial isn't it. I think Jackson is there...
also, Aaron says something about himself at 6:33...does anyone understand what he says?
Aaron....quit the "I'm sorries" and desist with the "mate"... Now!
(from previous comment) you deserve is being TOGETHER!
It is rather strange, I call my friends sweetheart or darling or hun, but not my partner. I think that is something I need to change.
@megalyn08 I don't know, still have my doubts... Like everyone keeps repeating "it's early days", but we know this will be on for a while. I don't think he is denying what happend, but the possibility that this is permanent. I confess his optmism surprised me, but don't know how long it's gonna last.
OOO 8 min of Aaron and J..
@samanthapetrelli (from previous comment) sure more useful than spending days just crying. He can't change what happened, but can choose how to react. So, GO JACKSON!!!! And... let's just hope that writers won't be too cruel to you, I think they were already cruel enough!!!!
Jackson's killing me...sniff.
@jodezak Late reply, sorry :-)
I liked this episode too, I like so much the way the boys are trying to face this situation together, I can see they WANT to go through this side by side, and I think this is TRUE LOVE.
@cpepper93 That would have been a wonderful ending to his scene with Jackson. I had my fingers crossed that would do just that.
Off to bed. Have meeting with Son's teacher tomorrow :D ttyl :D
Happy Aarson Dreams and have a great night :D
he should have kissed him at 5.03.....
cont.... emotional stroking that I can personally relate to and...dare I say it?,..live a little vicariously through, especially when it comes to romances. Not just the anger and tragedy type of emotional walloping you get out of this show. If this show's claim to fame is "reality" than I think I want a little more smarmy romantic scenes just to balance things out!!!
@frozenbaby2004
I thought I was the only one that noticed Jackson didn't answer when Aaron asked if he would be coming too. (It's pull, not prowl)
Maybe Jackson didn't know what to say, because he is not sure what their relationship is anymore, it's been so off & on lately. I'm fairly sure Aaron still thinks that Jackson is his boyfriend, no matter what was said that night.
@Sophieepie Gah! I hope it comes before christmas.. * shudders to think we got another 2 months before we hear those 3 little words :(
@AlanRM1000 If Jackson were glad that his dad has gone again, he wouldn't have asked about him. However, I don't think he's sad about it either. Sometimes when you've been hit (figuratively speaking) in the same area so many times, you start to grow numb to it. I'd say, at the most, Jackson may have been a bit disappointed, but overall, not suprised.
is emmerdale really considered a soap the way this show is written and acted it's very reallistic,i'm enjoying this show.
@sanyrub
well i think fisoqo chimica (sorry for the spelling ) is not that bad
@alwaysuseless You know, someone wrote that Jackson, like his mum, sees the glass half full.
That's just not me, I guess...
I wish he would stop using the word 'mate'. He's not your mate, Aaron!
@deemarie78 Thanks, I was wondering what he said too...
