I received an ARC of The Lion Women of Tehran and just LOVED it!!! Also loved this author's previous book, The Stationery Shop. Excellent stories. Hope you enjoy this one.
I also chose the Peter Swanson. I bet that was a very popular one this month. There are so many great books coming out in June. Honey by Isabel Banta, The Last Time I Saw You by Jo Leevers and Sandwich by Catherine Newman.
As an Iranian who still lives here, I am very interested to read The Lion Women of Tehran. I just hope they got the historical parts right. Btw that political shift was the Islamic Revolution which to put it simply has made our lives hell. Specially if you are Queer or a woman.
Sending you love. I am going to learn more about the history but I’ve seen recent social media posts about the morality police in Iran and it absolutely seems terrifying.
@@GettingHyggeWithIt it really is terrifying. They killed Mahsa Amini in 2022 and after people protested because of her unjust death, the government killed more than 500 people during the Woman Life Freedom uprising.

Wow, I am from Iran. My jaw literally dropped when you said Tehran. I wasn't expecting it at all. 😅

The Lion Women of Tehran has been on my radar so I was happy to see that BOM offered it this month. Great haul! Enjoy!
I really hope we both love it!!
I really liked Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes so I am looking forward to Ghost Station. This is a great summer list!
Thanks Dawn!!
I just found your channel and I have a lot of binging to do…..

I am reading The House that Horror Built right now! Good so far (I'm only about a third of the way through).
Eeeeeee this makes me excited!
Diavola was such a disapointement for me, it is not scary at all, it is sooooo long....
