I have followed you from the beginning bro, never stop doing these reviews!! I’m from SE Alabama and essentially no one smokes a pipe so I don’t have any friends to enjoy a smoke with. You are like a old, close friend to me ✌🏼My favorite tobacco has been and always will be Elizabethan. Love you brother!! -Joshua
Bradley, I bought a tin of this several years ago from Smokingpipes, and really don't know why. Not a fan of Virginias at all. But my tin arrived on a cool, rainy fall Saturday morning. It had five years age on it, so I went at it. It suited the day perfectly, the aroma of the smoke blending with the damp fallen leaves. But, the longer the tin was open, the bread-like aspect came out and reminded me of what I don't like about Virginias. Top quality tobaccos, for sure, and beautifully behaved.
Great review. Again, I like the reviews where you enjoy the blend. This blend has been around for 5-6 years and in my experience, it deepens with age. I know that you don't really cellar, but some age deepens the flavors a bit. It's my go to straight va blend
If I was good at describing blends, I would say the same things about HH Pure Virginia that Bradley did. Definitely one of my personal favorite straight Virginias!
Great review! I haven’t actually had this one myself, but I got a couple of tins in the mail as recent as today. Now I’m debating whether to open on immediately or try and control myself and let it age for a while... It’s not the newest in the HH line though, that honour belongs to HH Rustica that came out last year. Don’t know which one was released before that but it might have been HH Pure Virginia. As for origin of the tobaccoes Mac Baren website claims the HH Pure Va is “100% Virginia tobaccos from North America and Africa.”
As a rule, I find the MacBaren blends too sweet for my palate. For example, I had to blend Mac Burley Flake with Orlik Golden Slice to make it palatable; I mixed Mac Pure Virginia with Dunhill Ye Olde Signe. Granted, I've only tasted a few of these, but MacBaren is not in my cellar for this reason. That said ... Bradley, this is a good review. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, Bradley, I have to agree all this Mc Baren HH line is bite-free, contrary to many other Mc Baren offerings, nonetheless, when straight Virginia tobacco is concerned I personally prefer Capstan over to this
Hello Bradley! Fellow Skagit/Whatcom guy here! I thoroughly enjoy your reviews.. Question for you.. Where and how do you locate your wonderful tobaco varieties? Not being able to order on-line. Maybe I will run into you sometime in my northern travels!
I actually tried this blend is not too long ago when I was in California. It was really good but, Peterson Flake really spoiled me. If I’m going to go with any pure Virginia flake it Has to be Peterson’s
yummy! Ive been vaping all my flakes and tobacco blends through a silver surfer/ Da Buddha desktop vaporizer unit set on about 7/10 or 8/10 heat on the temp dial. It really rips and tastes good.
Love this series Bradley, keep up the good work, appreciate everything you do. Going to order all the Mac Barens HH to smoke now and to put in my cellar. To see if they age well. Take care.
Love your reviews..... This Mac Baren pure Virginia reminds me very much of a blend that the Country Squire sells called "Faulkner Flake." Just pure Virginia. You would like it.
I just chiefed some of Mac Barens vanilla cream, I felt like I was snuggled up in a freshly baked glazed cinnamon roll. the problem is I really enjoyed it, I try to only chief about once a month, sometimes twice, and I'm already looking forward to my next alone time with this sweety pie. I need to get my hands on some of these other Mac Baren varients. If anyone can recommend what my next MB should be I'd really appreciate it
Been eyeing this blend for a long time and waffled between whether I should or shouldn't get it. Capstan is my go to for a VA flake, so if there's nothing about this that stands out, I guess I am fine without it.
I have been craving HH line and I haven’t been keen with any of mac baren blends even the ones with no toppings including capstant. Maybe some age is better but dunhill flake or peterson does beat this without even any cellaring required. I am half way through i might change my mind but I don’t thing i am buying it again unfortunately
Still waiting on our good friend Bradley to review the new Savinelli Janus (Va/Per) and Juno ( VA) blends. They are quite good IMO and I'm sure he will love them.

Bought this based on your initial review and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks for the reviews!
Glad it was helpful!
It’s my first straight VA, and I love it. I want to try Capstan Blue and the Peterson Flake, but I have a feeling that this is my new go-to blend.
Bradley,
Off the T topic, how many tattoos do you have? Looks like you have one on each forearm? What do they state? Thanks!
One of the best virginia flake tobacco in my mind
John Cotton’s Double Pressed Virginia > MacBarens HH pure Virginia although I like HH Pure Virginia.
True that
If I was good at describing blends, I would say the same things about HH Pure Virginia that Bradley did. Definitely one of my personal favorite straight Virginias!
I'm like you I find myself really going to Virginia blends. You've got me hooked on Elizabethan mixture!!!
This channel should have 383.000 subscribers and not 38.000. Just saying.
Great review. You should get some and cellar Them for a year. Then it Will be 100% better. 😊
You should give G.L Pease Maltese Falcon a go, I just cracked open one that I had aging for 3 years and omg it's so good.

Relatives in other states. :-)
Hey, I know you're not normally into alcohol-topped blends, but I'd love to see a review of C&D Windjammer! Thanks for the great reviews, Bradley.
My favorite aromatic (if you can call it that) of the past decade.
Agree. Really impressed with Windjammer. Not really aromatic to me, not boozy tasting. Just delicious.

I like this one too, and have some tins of this in my cellar!
thanks for the review
It's nice to have a good alternative to certain other straight Virginias that are hard to find!

Hey Bradley, where did the spider picture off your left shoulder come from ?
Dark brown Virginia's are my favorite. Dunhill Dark Flake is the best ever.
Reiner 71. Top 3 VaPer dude. Try it
Shhhhh dude, that’s pipe smoking’s greatest secret!
It has burley, so is it a vaper?
30 dollars for 100g it had better be darn good! I’ve never tried it because of the ridiculous price
Great review Bradley. Thanks a lot. Have a great week.
Thanks, you too!
Would like to hear your thoughts on Cornell and diehls Super Balkan
Why my pipe tastes like burning after 2 uses only? My first try were very tasty ( I’m new to pipe)
release the full song bradley your good friends want to hear it !
Yes, please!
Thank you very much for the in-depth review 👍👍👍
My pleasure!
Bradley, will you ever review Sir Walter Raleigh? I know that you've reviewed Carter Hall, so it should be interesting.
I'll keep it in mind!
Still waiting on our good friend Bradley to review the new Savinelli Janus (Va/Per) and Juno ( VA) blends. They are quite good IMO and I'm sure he will love them.

This is to tobacco what Switchback Ale is to beer.
Will you get a calabash pipe from Ebay and smoke in future tobacco reviews? Everytime I comment a link youtube deletes it.
I heard that HH Pure Virginia will be out of press.
I thought it was really blan.
