been listening to this clip for years, perfect touch, perfect sounds, killer melodic and outside ideas, the Kyoto vibe is amazing, I keep telling myself I need to transcribe this!! Many thanks!!
Absolutely wonderful. Shawn has to be my favorite guitar (and bass) player, for many years now. Phenomenal talent. As a Vineyard worship leader...I miss you!!!!
Lot's of soul there, Shawn...I've always loved that guitar since I play Greg V's way back when. You know I still have that pedal board I bought from you some 15+ years ago now...and have seen you with Carrie many times. Thanks for sharing....the world could use more!
Martin Tallstrom Says one guitar superhero to another...Martin, I've been enjoying your playing for years now. Shawn, I've been enjoying your playing since the Violet Burning days and your acoustic worship album. Do you have any solo electric stuff?
this is the guys who played electric guitar on my favorite praise called 'save us oh God' ... love the song and love his playing.. and tone ^^ God bless you, Shawn Tubbs!
Tubbsy! Love the tone fella! Miss you out here in Cali! Wish we could hang and enjoy some nice "Long Bottom Leaf" from the Shire and a wee bit of Lagavulin! Peace to you and the fam!
Wow... That was beautiful playing and tone. What preamp/amp were you using? Really cool sideways and normal vibrato. I also noticed a few moves that sounded like you had a whammy bar on that guitar. Very nice.
Fantastic playing and sound. I had the pleasure of hearing you play back in the So. Cal days (CL TVB). Was glad to hear about the Underwood gig! BTW, is Lonnie still drumming? I was always blown away with his playing.
Hey there, thanks for the nice comments. Those pickups are what Hamer installed. I never asked but I'm guessing Duncan 59's. The amp for this video was a Divided By 13 FTR 37 that I have had for years.
@2020shredfest1980 Hey man sorry for taking so long to answer you. Those are custom wound for Hamer by Duncan. I think they're based on the Duncan 59s.
Fishpigg I'm very much so a self taught player for the most part. A guy named Steve Vogle taught me the 5 forms of a major scale. I think I was about 13 or so. I took it from there. I listened to a lot of great players over the years and learned a lot from being surrounded by players that were way better than me. I just try to stay inspired by listening to everything and not putting myself in any sort of musical box ever!
Shawn Tubbs hi Shawn thanks for the reply I've seen a couple of your other demos and your playing has a maturity to it that belies your years.I guess that's what happens when you live in Nashville!
@wallacemchamish yah man. I have a set of his Brian Kahanek PAF's in my 59 honeyburst les paul and a set of his standard strat pickups in my 56 NOS fender fiesta red strat

@usalespaul59 Thanks!!
@Chromatype
Zero compression used. It's a flip camera so it gets pretty compressed.

Where is Wallace?
@mullbenkt
Hey wow a year ago you asked....I suck at this for sure!!
Divided by 13 FTR 37.
My absolute all time FAVORITE guitarist on the face of the planet bar none,...alive or dead. Um, and Shawn,... I hate you for having ALL your hair. :)
Well like all the other cats on the block, Wallace is long gone when I start playing guitar....
@lordkoos
Ah man or so kind to say that. Check out Joe Robinson man...Good grief can that kid play!!
Heavy Compression
killer playing but the recording has too many clips
Thanks. Yeah, this is one of the very first videos I ever tried to do. It's an old Flip camera.
