Ants are very intelligent, but they also have very structured lives and do _everything_ for the benefit of the colony. That's why he doesn't understand Gerbo collecting rocks for "no reason." Bugbo is a very good interpretation of a manipulative psychopath. If you concentrate on his behaviors you can notice how much he performs his emotions, because it's all an act to get what he wants. You can see him dropping it whenever he's close to the end of his goal, and you can also see how he constantly puts down his friends for their flaws and never helps them overcome it to keep them in that state, but immediately lifts them back up when it benefits himself. He takes advantages of these flaws by creating situations that become nigh impossible to maneuver around due to their situation, like whenever he makes up a philosophical statement that Gerbo's rock collecting is meaningless and that he should put it to use for himself, when in actuality Gerbo's rock collecting has meaning by itself because it makes Gerbo happy. This is something that Gerbo wouldn't have noticed. Gradient Joe is also exploited by Bugbo because Joe is intelligent and can easily find ways out of situations that would fall heavily on Bugbo, but impaired in his communication. This is a prime target for someone like Bugbo because any abuse that Joe goes through can't be easily communicated. Bugbo is also very opportunistic, in that he finds any opening for a solution to what he wants and takes it immediately, using his intelligence to ensure victory. Bugbo saw Gerbo's rock collecting and guided it towards building a stone structure, specifically Inepta's, and used Gradient Joe to kill the merchant for his stone body. Once Bugbo had the materials, he put off working on the structure himself and made his friends instead construct it immediately, but made sure he finished it off and handed them the materials to make appear that he did a lot of work by putting focus on himself. Afterwards, when the stone structure is complete, Inepta rewards all of them with hefty compliments and his gratitude, but Bugbo has no reaction. Bugbo takes this opportunity to frame it as a lesson of togetherness, heavily implying that this entire charade was an exercise by Bugbo to further manipulate his friends and gain their trust.
I noticed he seems to be a bit manipulative, and even gaslights situations to an extent, but i think it's a bit too early to judge the entirety of his character based on the two episodes we got so far, we might want to wait for more first.

@@bensilly heck yea! We used to go on that website when I was in early grade school in the mid 2000's. They've totally changed up the look now however. But all those games are readily available to look at still which is crazy. Theres this interactive book about a girl and her horse that had a page with a cell phone you could interact with that had secret numbers you could dial. As a kid it always made me feel weird that the school game had secrets in it and I think that feeling is right up the alley of your film. Petscop vibes.
This is very good. I honestly don't know if I could call this horror, and I think that's pretty good. This sits in a middle ground that not many other projects do, it's very interesting and enjoyable. Genuinely funny, too.

WOW AAHHH WTF this is so incredible!!! Perfect level of unsettling. Not too much to be unbelievable. Feel like these kinds of old internet games/animation for kids really does have this quality of uneasiness. Even as a kid, something felt stiff about them. Gonna unofficially label this style "starfall-core".
thank you!! like i said in another reply, i intentionally didnt go overboard with scares because i thought it would take away from the odd style it has already. im glad i went with this approach because it's more fun for me to make and it seems most people watching prefer it this way anyway. thanks again 🐛👍👍
edit: also I think starfall-core is perfect. i had never seen starfall in my life before reading this comment and id like to thank you for showing me that as well, itll probably influence the style more going forward!!
It would probably be better to call it flashcore
Oh my god I remember Starfall! God this gives me so much nostalgia-
“No.”
“Excuse me?”
“No, I’m not doing that.l
Got me laughing so hard
This is very good. I honestly don't know if I could call this horror, and I think that's pretty good. This sits in a middle ground that not many other projects do, it's very interesting and enjoyable. Genuinely funny, too.
"You'll have to pay a fee of 150 shells-"
*"Nuh-Uh."*
"HELL YOU MEAN 'NUH UH'-" *Fuking dies*
I've watched this so many times to where i can play this entire episode in my head when i get bored. truly a masterpiece.
4:08 why Bugbo just throw the rocks on Gradient Joe
Why Bugbo wouldn't just throw the rocks on Gradient Joe
This is the best thing I’ve ever seen, I’m now a Bugbo fan
Does anyone look at the tower thing at 4:16 and kinda think it looks rather…..phallic? Huh…
But I really dig the old school Flash animation aesthetic. As someone who would go on Newgrounds in the mid-2000s and would even watch UA-cam reuploads of them with varying degrees of audio quality I gotta say that this captures that 2007-2009 Flash animation on UA-cam style quite well! Nicely done!
funny you mentioned that, the tower looking like a penis was completely unintentional but someone in the bugbo crew actually pointed it out to me once it was done. i thought it was funny so i just left it like it was
anyway penis tower aside THANK YOU🙏
@@bensilly You're welcome. And that's pretty funny actually hahaha
@@bensillybugbo needs to fight the man that hates bugs in episode 3!!!
@@bensilly PENUS TOWER!
@@bensillyyou could say that it’s also rock hard
i love how fast bugbo talks/responds sometimes. if he wants an interaction to end it's gonna fucking end
“You must pay a hefty fee of 150 shells”
“No” LMAO
"Hey look big rocks-"
"Take them."
"Now were talkin-"
"Yes"
3:30
I admit, the part at 2:47 made me laugh out loud
No. I'm not doing that
"a deal?"
"A DEAL?"
"A DEAL?!"
"(screams from just a deal and dies)"
this is where i giggled
Rocks that bugbo threw into the oblivion: *ĀŒØĘĀĘĀËRËŸĀĘŸAÆ*
I love how there's a small chance that a teacher actually played this in class
I want that chance to be true
1:13 I like how this whole part reminds me of don't hug me im scareds first episode
This whole SERIES reminds me of DHMIS
