Yes they have two different sound libraries if that's what you mean. The effects from sp 404 change the sounds of the maschine (as expected) If you only want to choose one, maschine has a lot more to offer. I mainly use sp404 for effects -they are unique :)
Very well :) You just need to connect output from maschine to input of 404 and output from 404 to input of maschine and you are ready to go ( using both) Than you can record your performance as a sample in maschine or (if you want to be extra like me lol) connect zoom to the sp404 and record into zoom
