- Parikshit Sahni was born 1 January 1944 is an Indian film and television actor, who is most known for playing the lead in TV series Barrister Vinod, Gul Gulshan Gulfaam (Doordarshan) and Gaatha (STAR Plus). He has also appeared in three of Rajkumar Hirani's blockbuster films Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 idiots and PK
He is the son of noted actor Balraj Sahni and nephew of writer Bhisham Sahni.
He was a good friend of late actor Sanjeev Kumar. Parikshit even changed his screen name to Ajay Sahni at the suggestion of Sanjeev Kumar during the shooting of their 1968 film Anokhi Raat, before eventually reverting to his own name a few years later.

Balraj Dadaji and my grandfather were best friends. My grandfather was a newly elected municipal councilor from Nagpada in South Bombay in 1945. My granddad, Balraj Dadaji and Dr L H Hiranandani uncle were cell cellmates for 2 weeks during the freedom struggle and since then they formed a lifelong bond. As a kid I would visit his house in Juhu with my granddad in the the late 60s and early 70s and even Kaifi Azmi's house. But what a great man, larger than life!!!

I always thought this man is a brilliant actor but today i came to know hes d son of d legend Balraj sahni. In our English textbook for class 11 there was a chapter on Balraj Sahni which generated an interest in me towards his films.

Balraj sahani was a great actof of indian cinema.he started acting in middle age but he was successful.he was really great.
बरसों पहले दूरदर्शन पर फूल खिलें हैं गुलशन गुलशन प्रोग्राम में तबस्सुम साहिबा ने परीक्षित साहब का इंटरव्यू लिया था ।और उसमें दीदार फिल्म की यादें दोनों ने साझा कीं।
बचपन के दिन भुला न देना

आज गुफ़्तगू में भी दीदार फिल्म के दिखाए ग ए दृश्य देख कर वो प्रोग्राम भी याद आया,
परीक्षित साहब और तब्बसुम साहिबा ने दिलीप साहब और नरगिस जी के बचपन की भूमिका निभाई थी।
उसके बाद बरसों बाद आज परीक्षित साहब को सुना,
संदेश ,मार्गदर्शन जो गुफ़्तगू के जरिए मिले उसके लिए आभार,
परीक्षित साहनी साहब को प्रणाम।

Prakshit ji speaks of his "Dad" so proudly. In my head I always thought that the way he is descibing his "Dad" that is exactly what he would be like, kind, caring and wanting the best for his son.
I quote "Dad" because it was a surprise to me that Prakshit ji called Balraj ji "Dad".
It reminded me of my "Dad". 😢

परीक्षित साहनी जी को पहली बार लाल कोठी अलविदा नामक धारावाहिक में देखा था। इनका प्रशंसक तो था ही , आज आपके कारण परीक्षित जी को बहुत अच्छे जानने का मौका मिला।
हां भाई जहां तक मुझे लाल कोठी अलविदा दूरदर्शन पर प्रसारित होता था और मेरठ की कहानी थी शायद से, अच्छा याद दिलाया...

Balraj sahni was a great personality. I like his acting most and your acting too is very good.

Garam Hawa is one of the finest works of Balraj Sahab. Even the other characters like Farooq Sahab, Hangal Sahab, Jalal Agha Sahab or Geeta ji were awesome. Beautiful movie portraying human emotions in different times.

Great movie it was directed and produced by a Hindu director and producer ,only they can do such justice by showing truth about others caste religion, no one else can do justice ,look at afganistan situation their own people killing own ppeople ,what is this ,at least garam Hawa showed that people should move on in Hindustan by mingling and mixing so that they all look one ,and it is expected this from ALL, one should be true to own country and countrymen .
In afganistan their own people kill own self ,whom one should fight against in afganistan....men holding gun who belong to afganistan
Garam Hawa should be shown to talibani and all afgani ,who are fighting with own people where as this was never in India ,we believe not in religion but in humanity

I am not a fan of communism. However Parikshit Sahni was influenced by Communism and they had noble intentions. They wanted revolution. Parikshit Sahni is a gold both in terms of an actor and in his personal life.

परिक्षित सहानी भी अपने पिताजीं की तरह सादगी, सभ्यता में परदे पर दिखे. हमें पता नहीं था, के वे बचपन से फिल्मों में काम करते थे. उनकी फिल्में बहुत अच्छी रहती थी. वो सब बचपन की यादें बताते है. तो ऐसा लगता है, उनको सब अच्छा लगता होगा, थोडा दुख भी हुआ होगा.
It's better to be first rate parikshit sahni than a third rate balaraj sahni.
