I remember being 9 years old and shown Super Mario RPG and this video on Newgrounds by my neighborhood friend back in the day. It's very nostalgic to see this classic video and game being remade. Now being 25 years old, thanks for the great memories.
I really like how some aspects of the animation tie into the remake of it being a game you played before, such as the Blue Toad now using joycons instead of a SNES controller and the Toad instead of saying “practice those timed hits, bitch” says “now you’re getting it, champ”
@@SaiyanGamer95 not so many actually. The Peach ones for example are the same in both videos, but the sound mixing in the original was pretty screwed up. But the censorship of some insults in the original it's noticeable.
Its so interesting to see the comparisons and realize the creator's intention for certain scenes vs how I interpreted the animation when I was younger! Super cool to see this get remade in honor of the remake! (Also the replacement of Mario with Luigi due to presumably a different VA for the rap section is an awesome addition)

With a Remake of Super Mario RPG coming to Switch, it's only appropriate that the Animated Tribute Music Video dedicated to the Good Ol' SNES Game gets a Remake as well.
I'm kinda divided on this. On one hand, Chris's animation and artistic skills have improved by leaps and bounds and it's great to see him flourishing. On the other hand, I just am unsure if I like the new version of the song itself. Nostalgia op, I guess, either way it's fantastic work and carry on Kirbopher of ol'~

I can see it, some of the humor was token out from the old one like toad saying “b*tch” after teaching Mario the combos. But besides I prefer the new one imo
It's really cool to see the level of improvement this animator went through over the years but I kinda enjoy the older animation more. Quality wise the new is better by a mile but the old one has a bunch of gags where characters will go off model and contort in funny ways which are just not there as the new doesn't go off model.
he put his whole kirbussy into this remake, i'm mesmerized by the amount of improvement 80 not just in terms of art style, but composition, colors, some of the more subtle animations in the characters :D
The original will always have a charm to it yet the new one is an improvement over the original, especially in the lyrics. There are lines from back then that would just not fly nowadays

I think I discovered that video in 2008, at the time UA-cam was mostly boring. I don't know how I stumbled upon it, but I'm glad I did. Great tribute.
