    Things are changing fast! I'm sure bringing in the turf was a rough job but what a great way to connect with your neighbors! I hope your stew turned out delicious!

      @@janetclaireSays Yes it’s good to keep in with the neighbours and pull your weight. We already benefit from goodwill in being able to use the neighbour’s water pump until we get our own supply. Dyer was disappointing in that after two hours the vegetables were still al dente! We ate it anyway, but pined for the slow cooker which always delivers comfort food. 😊❤️

    Love seeing our old caravan, quite nostalgic, we loved it, it was great while we had it, we hope you really enjoy your time in it as much as us! Dying to see what is in the cupboard!! And absolutely loooooove the bread pot!! Where did you get it!! Looks amazing!

      Yes, we are so happy with the caravan, the bed is really comfy: it’s nice inagining you using this space for the renovation journey too. Maybe we’ll pass it on to some other renovators like running a relay race lol. The bread pot is actually a chicken toaster I am told, although I imagine it would be a good vessel for a sourdough bake. It’s a charity shop fine. The local town has three good charity shops we frequent a lot for jumpers, jeans and waterproofs… and countless books as we don’t have WiFi! ❤️🙌

      @@TheHiddenHouseIreland good get the foundation and footing done during the summer months and put down good hard core around the outside. When it turns wet and cold u can’t have folk paddling through muck. Just slows everyone down. Just be prepared folk are going to let you down. Keeping to a time line will be impossible. Everything you go to do u will 100% focused on it and spend more than you planned. But it’s going to be fun and worth it when ur finished.

    Love how farmers band together to help. Speaking of "band" - oh wow, "Sid and the Hammerdrills" were my favorite group back in the 70's - KIDDING, ONLY KIDDING, haha! It is a great band name - let us know when Sid's first album comes out. Hmmm, am I predicting the future for him? Roy is ready and waiting politely at the table for dinner. Super work done on the stone wall, both outside and inside - you made me laugh when you said how satisfying it is when a big chunk breaks off and I agree 100%. Great work on the ceiling and kitchen wall area. Your stew looks lovely. Did you precook the chicken pieces slightly first or were they raw with vegies, curious?

    • @TheHiddenHouseIreland
      @TheHiddenHouseIreland  Місяць тому +1

      Sid really should be a musician in a band haha - he has the right name and the hair lol. I lightly fried the chicken to seal it before adding to the stew. It would have been really tasty, but the caravan’s oven is a bit poor and a slow cooker would have been much better. Not terribly efficient to put the generator on for two hours though just to slow cook out stew! Thanks for your kind words Tracy, you sound a pretty cool chick! 🙌🤣❤️
