- We get asked a lot on how to remove the air pump on the 1980-81 Pontiac 301 and Pontiac 265. The air pump was only installed those last two years of this engine.
If removing the air pump tube, you will need Dorman 555-101 freeze plugs to plug off the port in the cylinder head.

I had a hard time putting the freeze plugs on, and after watching your video I realized that I installed the passenger side freeze plug on the plate instead of the head, besides that it worked great and I got the parts through you. Great video.
It fine to install the freeze plug in the bracket. If you aren't going to use the bracket for anything else, just machine it down.
What is the most horsepower and torque that you’ve personally ever pulled out of one of these 301 turbo cars? Have you ever seen anyone pull out more power than you were able to produce, I highly doubt it as you are the only person building these that I’ve seen in the last couple of years worth or searching. Can we please see an N/A 301 with ‘67 670 heads. I’d like to see which intake manifold would be the best fit after fabrication.
