Love the intro Tom! Our Lord. Maker of Heaven & Earth. Amen! 🙏🏻 Awesome trip you’ve undertaken! You said you were going, made and executed a great plan. Here you are going up the historic & legendary Pike’s Peak known for it’s epic wide full open car and motorcycle racing was/is fantastic! The van you followed kept crossing over the double yellow seemingly out of fear of the limited guard rail protection trying to stay as far away from the edge. 😮
That was a Tour Van. Maybe it was a new driver. I just kept telling myself that it does not matter what is off to the side of the road, I can keep my bike on the road. Those switchbacks were the tightest that I have ever seen. Thanks for watching!
Wow Tom, you started with a fitting Bible Verse and the ride up to the top was amazing. I figure your ears must have popped several times for sure. Thanks for bringing us along.
Tom some stunning scenery there! Cruiseman and I are likely to pass you at some point today as you head back. I pray safe travels for you sir !! And we will see you at breakfast again soon with stories to tell !! 😊🙏🏻
Thanks Mike, I try to add something like that to my videos. Ride safely. I was thinking about coming up for your Faith Riders rally but it turns out that I will have duties at Church that weekend. Perhaps another time.
Good Morning Tom, thanks for taking us up Pikes Peak and showing us the beauty of this rocky mountain. Thanks also for the additional photos at the end of your video. It blows me away there were several bicyclists who made the journey up, however, it had to be great going down.
Thanks for watching. Those bicyclists are better men than I am! Going down, I got stuck behind a car that must have been scared and was going very slow. I won't say how slow but the bicycles were passing us.
Hi boomers and thanks for subscribing! On the way up, I was concerned that it might be more scary going down. But for me going down was easier than going up. The DCT did a great job of engine braking and keeping the speed under control. I had to use very little brake. I just kept telling myself that it did not matter what was off to the side of the road, I could keep my bike on the road!
Tom, you showed remarkable patience following that white van. He was all over the road, and forced several downhill vehicles over to the shoulder since he was half over the double yellow lines. I would have either passed him (illegally) or pulled over for twenty minutes just so I wouldn’t have to cringe at his lack of driving ability. Nice video otherwise!
Yes, that was a tour van. The driver was terrible. I think that he must have been scared by the drop offs and was WAY over the line. I thought about your two options but ended up following him until he pulled out at a stop. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! I rode it. With a couple of side trips one in Wichita Falls to go by the Air Force base and the ride up Capulin volcano, it was 750 miles.
looking thru your windscreen takes away from the beauty of pikes peak.. might want to find another mounting point so we arent looking thru the windscreen.
OMG how could you stand riding behind that idiot in the van ahead of you who was hugging and going over the center line whenever the exposed drop off was on their right? Double line or not I would have had to pass them for my sanity and safety. People like that should just stay home and watch nice videos like this one at home. Nice video.

Hi Larry, I am glad that you enjoyed the ride. Thanks for watching! Ride safely!
Very nice. Thanks for
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Just the right speed to enjoy the scenery. Good control with the DCT young man 👍
Thanks for watching! The DCT did a great job both going up and also going down the mountain. Ride safely!
Nice video, Tom. It does look like another world once you clear the tree line.
Yes, it is very different above the tree line. In Colorado the tree line is around 11,500 ft elevation. Thanks for watching!

We did pass each other on Labor Day morning between Texline and Raton! I am looking forward to your videos from this trip! Ride safely!
Great photos at the end!
Thanks Mike, the views from the top were epic. Of course the camera does not really capture all of the beauty.
Nice ride Tom. The mountain road is in pretty good shape. Enjoy your travels.
Thanks for watching. They do keep the road in good shape. With some of those drop offs that is a very good thing!
Very Nice, Tom! Always wanted to make the trip up Pike's Peak....
Thanks for watching. If you ever make it to Colorado Springs, I highly recommend the ride up Pikes Peak. Ride safely!
Interesting bit of trivia about Pikes Peak! Good stuff
Thanks Mike, I try to add something like that to my videos. Ride safely. I was thinking about coming up for your Faith Riders rally but it turns out that I will have duties at Church that weekend. Perhaps another time.
@@tom81773 I look forward to meeting you sometime for sure

New subscriber here. Good video! What was it like riding back down with those drop-offs???

Tom, how did the DCT do on the way down? Were you able to control speed simply with gear selection or did you find yourself using the brakes a lot?
Great video! Did you ride from DFW or trailer your bike to Colorado?
Thanks for watching! I rode it. With a couple of side trips one in Wichita Falls to go by the Air Force base and the ride up Capulin volcano, it was 750 miles.
@@tom81773 That's awesome! Very inspirational!

I was not easy following that van. I was relieved when he finally pulled over. Thanks for watching! I am glad that you enjoyed it! Ride safely!
