I lived with Henchi and Fred In Boulder, CO in 1975 into 1976. Two of the nicest, generous, funny and fun-lovin guys of the 70's. Soryy to hear of Henchi's passing but delighted that Fred is still around and performing. Fond memories.
Wow! Thanks for sharing, I can't believe I ran into this one...Like HicksBoy, I used to go to Skunk Creek Inn EVERY friday night (drown-nite) with a VW bus full of friends from Denver. Freddie & Henchi really got the whole place jumping. Great show, sound, & use of strobes. It was also a 3.2 beer bar that served to 18 yrs. & up...you can just imagine. I downloaded their only song I could find from i-tunes "Funky to the Bone" which is a great funk tune.
So cool!! For some reason I decided to see if there was anything on these guys and I was amazed to find something. I too was a Skunk Creek Inn fanatic. I wound up dating the drummer, Eppie, for awhile. I really loved this band. What memories this brings back. Thanks!!!
It was Marvin "Henchi" Graves that passed away in June of 2009. Freddi is very much alive and well. Too many people that do not really know the band believe "Freddi Henchi" was one person. Not so.
