DIY Troubleshooting a F150 stuck on Panel Vents

if you own a 2006 f150 plus or minus 4 years you will most likely experience this problem at some point and time. What happens on these trucks is that the mode door motor can fail or foam or something can get lodged in the mode door preventing your vehicle from switching off of panel vents. My truck used to do this from time to time but it got worse and now its stuck and been that way ever since.
I was hoping to get off easy but my mode door actuator still works so I have no other choice but to remove the dash and fix the problem. However this is a project that won't take place to the fall when the boat is put away
