I half wish this featured Jack explaining this instrument via several loosely related metaphors but the uninterrupted Joe time is not lost on me. This bass looks like it really goes.
yeah and limited to just 50 units, ensuring that this bass will never "go" anywhere other than straight into the unseen and unplayed vaults of stingy collectors... real shame
"Can't wait to see them out in the world." Given the small run I'm pretty sure most of them will go to collectors who don't plan on taking them out into the world unfortunately. However, I can't wait to see Joe Dart playing these out in the world
that was my first thought... they weren't interested in making an instrument for the people; they just made a collectors item for rich dudes to hang on their wall and never touch 😞
What we need now is a new EP '3 with E' where Joe, Jack, and Cory play 3 different versions of Joe Dart MM bass (and Theo lays sweet melodic line with his kazoo) creating an ultimate testament to this perfect blend of art and craft.
That's close to what actually happened! Check out "Three Basses" by the Fearless Flyers - Cory Wong slapping on the II, Mark Lettieri harmonizing on the I (in a beautiful Velvet Black finish) and Joe himself on his Jr. model, bulldozing as always. Also, the legendary Nate Smith on a drumkit. What more can we ask for??
I have no desire to wield Joe Dart's tone for my own creative efforts, but I think I'll always want to at least hold a Joe Dart bass in my hands for a while.
If MM makes a Sterling short-scale P, I seriously think it will become one of their most popular models. I'd sell my Mustang and buy two...best necks in the biz!
You could also get an Aria TSB Standard, this should come closest being a medium-scale P-style bass with a slim neck and a similar shape. I have an RSB Standard, the long-scale sister, and I love it! Other options would be Vantage or similar 80s MIJ medium-scale basses with a P pickup.
Considering the simplicity of the instrument. I don't see why they couldn't make a bigger run. Joe Dart is probably one of the most popular bassists out there right now.
P bass best bass. Looks sick with no pickguard and cream pickups. No tone knob though? Its still pretty simple to just have a volume and tone. I take good advantage of the tone knob on my p-style bass
O, Jack and Joe, Why do you grieve me so? I fret and fuss, Torment of tantalus. To reach out and take, But a minute to late. My wearying hell, To buy at the hands of those who re-sell.
Hey Joe & company - do you think you can advocate with Ernie Ball to make some Sterling versions for us mortals? Especially those short scale basses. Let's get the kids started off right!
This is actually kind of frustrating. JD1 was limited, so was JR. JD2 had a “first fifty,” which I got, then because unlimited, as well as the JD1. @@galgolombek7223 I don’t know. I’ve personally talked to a flipper on the JD Jr who claims to have bought two, then sold his second one for more money than he spent on both. Like, sure, that’s legal, but it also makes him kind of a garbage human. Very selfish
As an owner of a few Stingrays, I always loved the active pre amp and the amazing power and punch of a Stingray. Isn't this bass a version that some may consider castrated? Having no preamp Since there is only one knob in version 2, will version 3 have just one knob but restricted to just half way? Mr Dart is a good bassist and enjoy his antics.
Do you think Joe Dart’s son will be named “Joe Dart II” and his grandson “Joe Dart III,” so the tradition of being named after basses will continue?
Would a third bass designed by Joe Dart III be a Joe Dart III III ?
as per the teachings of Vulfpeckism
Yes, and his great-grandson will be named Joe Quart.
@@primtones we're gonna need another bass then
You forget the Joe dart Jr bass!
Imagine you're a tree. And they cut you down. Then you get turned into a Joe Dart Bass.
That's called the circle of life
It's a good day to die...
One of the many ways that a tree can live forever but one of the few ways a tree can truly groove.
Bassed and quaalude-pilled
That's a good day right there
Joe Dart is probably one of the bassists on the planet
one of two
Isnt this a joke suggesting that he's not a good bassist?
@@jonny__byeah i was thinking the same lol
@@jonny__bit doesn't even suggesting that he's not good, just one of many bassists on the earth
One of the bassists of all time. Period.

Doing the same bass three times?
Jk, I'm not even a bass player but I do want a Joe Dart bass, I, II or III

The groove playing at the beginning is so dope and you know he just made it up off the top of his head

I'm getting one, and I'll gig it until my hands stop working
The consumer version is available now
I doubt Joe Dart even plays this much out in the world. He has been playing the Sterling Joe Dart since it got announced

I can't be the only one who would want an in stock MM Sterling version. More dart for everyone!!
Yeah I think most of us would appreciate that. Make it available for players, not just collectors 😂
you mean Sterling by MM or an actual MM Sterling, that is in fact the base of this bass? that naming choice is so confusing!
in the works!

This bass is about to release and so am I 😤
LMFAO
whatt 😰
Only Joe could make an advertisement into a filthy spoken word and bass groove. Brilliant.
After just reading about MGK's signature razor blade guitar, this feels like a breath of fresh air.
I love the contrast between Joe's monotone voice and his funky playing.
Of all the promo videos I've seen over the years, this is one of them.
I already spent my bass budget this month on fish 😭😭😭 I didnt think the Joe Dart III would drop this month
Already sold out anyway
You were told to by base, not bass!
I have no desire to wield Joe Dart's tone for my own creative efforts, but I think I'll always want to at least hold a Joe Dart bass in my hands for a while.
I‘ve never played with Joe. I HAVE played Darts, though. I feel like I‘m half way to being a great bassist.
Lmao this is underrated
Cool bass! What’s that knob for?
If you’re not versatile enough, you may need to use it - but make sure you only use one finger.
It's a volume knob
@@sailfast2005 James Jamerson used 1 finger....
Made to turn the light on/off

The photography of vulf videos are just amazing. Just as good as hipster japanese, vietnamese cinema.
Joe, you are the best bassist! I'm so happy to see you. Thank you so much for uploading this video👑🎸👑👍👏👏👏👏👏
A bass worthy for Vlance Armstrength
does it ship with the very strings that are on the bass right now?
That's impossible.
@@markg.4952 That's true!
This is what I've been waiting for 73 years 🎉🎉🎉
So the family is complete now. The first two was MM and J, now P for the last one. The Holy Fender Trinity.
nice to hear the voice of a young master
The idea for a trilogy of basses definitly came about because they wanted to call this one the Three Bass.
Mescaline and a Pino Palladino sized Joe Dart playing a standard size Music Man, this video has it all.
That's an awesome bass. I wish I had a chance of owning one 😅
Joe is the reason why i went from hating flatwounds to absolutely loving them on my old 2011 Stingray
I'm wearing my Vulf hoodie on a cruise right now and walked around with my Ubass playing vulf tunes everywhere

“When you asked me to come over and look at your dart collection, this isn’t what I had in mind.”

Joe Dart! These basses are awesome. I can only afford the Knockarounds.
These basses are severely overpriced you are paying for the name.

It’s gonna be really hard to sing and play this live. Go Joe!
