Did a 3 piece clutch replacement on my drive today, following your guide. Your guide was excellent, but, as always, I had a bolt that wouldn't move and added 2 hours to the job. The sense of satisfaction when everything went back together and worked was amazing. Thank you.

Is this virtually the same as an M9R X trail T3, 2009, think I may have a slipping clutch and difficult to get between 1st to 2nd gear. So not sure if clutch or slave cylinder or gear cable/connections or clutch (i have read that cable gets corroded inside protective sleeve and sticks). Great videos for watching and very educational. Hi! My clutch slave gone bad. Car is a 2008 qashqai 1.5 DCI. Im thinking to do a clutch replacement, not only the slave cylinder. I don't see much difference between 1.6 petrol and 1.5 diesel. Is the same procedure?
Have a look in the channel. I’m sure there’s a 1.5dci in there somewhere. Otherwise stay tuned. There’s a 1.5 Nissan Juke coming up on Friday. Same platform.

hows it goin mate, good video! i recently bought one of these qashqais for my first car as a run a round cost me 1,500, when i got back and had a proper look over it, realised it was a bad purchase, its got near 170k miles on it so its wore in quite a bit, on top of that, someone crashed in to it at 2 in the morning while it was parked up, it caused the bumper to dint in but managed to pop it back out, but its slightly bent something to do with the front left wheel, so drives a little wonky

I am trying to do this on exactly the same car, but I am having a real issue separating the Trans from the Bell housing (18:10 on video), any advise would be appreciated. I can get a half cm gap around most of it apart from the top, no movement at all here. I'm sure I have removed all bolts too, have tried a pry bar but no joy...help!!!
Hi Kevin, after 3 years, I have tried it again, at got to the point of putting back everything together, but for some reason, the gearbox doesn't want to go back to its place. I have checked the correct positioning of the clutchplate, I am using exactly the same kit you are in the video, verified the cog count, and used the centre tool as you did. I have tried to match it with an extra jack and tried to move it back and forth but still won't click in, the driver-side driveshaft just gets in and I can turn the wheel like you do in the video, you can see the rings moving on the other side. Do you have any suggestions on what to check or try? If I left the gearbox in neutral it wouldn't move the gear shaft inside, that was my last thought after giving it up before retrying it this weekend. Could you please help?

Im doing the same on a Quasqai but we got into some problems where the gearbox would not pry loose as in 18.08 in your video, we have a hard time getting the gearbox to seperate from the engine. Any tips other than prying next to other outgoing driveshaft?

Hi, great video. I am trying to do a clutch on 2.0 J10. I only have one problem. I can seem to be able to loosen the bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel. I have bolt requiring a T40 star bit wich I actually bent the splines on trying to get the bolts loose. Any advice?

If you want to repair - change the gearbox you will have to take out the frame, if its just a clutch job then no, you will move the gearbox to the side and work it like this,

Jay I’ve been getting some good feedback about those ratchet .,, one of them would definitely shave off at least a good 20 mins .. too right 🍻🍻faster them bolts get spun the better ..💡
I bought a cheap one on ebay, came with 2 batteries and a fast charger, best 20 quid I've ever spent and yes it gets used daily! Had it nearly a year..still going strong.
Dear Kevin-Albert you are a real legend! Quick question I just changed the whole clutch system on my 2011 Qashqai 2.0 diesel 4x4. The coupling pedal has a very short move until it engages the gear. And is very stiff. This is actually why I replaced the whole system. Turns out there is no change with the new gear installed. Do you have any idea what this can be? @@WMCS i dont think traffic is a major factor. People just prefer the auto over manual because it has lower maintenance cost. The cost of labour to do a clutch is in the $1500 for a corolla so people just fork out the extra few hundreds bucks and upgrade to the auto box. The are still petrol heads,racers, drifters who are still manual drivers but the vast majority done under would rather be in D at the lights than sitting there clutch in ready to launch like a bat out of hell.
Wow that’s a lot of money for a clutch repair ... I have never been a fan of auto Box .., keeping in mind all of them still has a clutch fitted. But the selector does the shifting job ... and the plate does wear down. That must cost a lot more ...

I won’t make much difference to the alarm. But if there is an immobiliser fault stored .,, “french cars only” it won’t start for love nor money....

Hi Balo.. you don’t have to remove the gearbox completely as long as you’ve got enough room to your discretion to safely remove and install the clutch. Any solvent is good. I use brake cleaner as it’s readily available for me. I used to do one clutch in the morning and one in the afternoon. Now I do one every day Monday to Friday.,, January to December., I’m using a GoPro for filming.

I'm a graduated mechanical engineer and I use to repair/maintain my cars myself, so I can easily realise how difficult this job of yours is, especially that you do these replacements without a dedicated elevator. Laying for hours under a dirty car is not the heaven on earth, I don't envy you at all. Not to speak about cold, rain, wind and above all, you still manage to record it...Good for you and I am glad that someone is making an audience on YT out of his hard work, done on a regular basis and not based on some shit. @@WMCS ye I checked that but I let them fall back to were they were blue on top black on bottom,,,,there's only one thing I can think of,if I installed the wrong size clutch disc would I still be able to close up the box or would I have great difficulty closing it

Hi please answer my question if you have time. I have the same car model with you and i notice that every time i change the gear from P to R or D i can hear a snapping sound. Do you have any idea what is the problem? I recently changed the transmission oil but the sound still there. Please help and thank you.
@@WMCS just did a flywheel + clutch job on my own Volvo V50 2.0D, i was shocked from the condition of the gearbox oil..going to change it again soon to flush out the remaining gunk...
@@WMCS I'm just hearing in Australia, mechanics hate to do clutches on Nissan Qashqai. They are all 2.0 litre petrol here. Issues bleeding the concentric slave dual mass clutch system.

It depends on vehicle. EXEDY are very good and so is VALEO and SACHS. AP and AISIN are top quality parts also.

You have to keep wiggling it in and spin the wheel with your leg.
Otherwise for a smooth operation just remove that driveshaft.
Hello I just bought a qashqai 1.6 petrol the clutch comes off high and normal or does it mean that it is worn?
If you seperate the clutch from the engine, like you did, is it possible to lift engine out from the top, I am changing the engine
I can’t say for sure. But I would assume yes. As you’d have a lot of room.

Wiggle and pry it out. Probably stuck on the spline ., it happens when the clutch is filled with dry rust.

Check the hydraulic system. Master cylinder or clutch pressure regulator

Most time I have to pull out the immobiliser pin from the ECU and direct start it from battery to starter motor to show customer where problem lies ..

Is it the same procedure for the 4wd version?
You have to take into account transfer case and prop shaft for 4WD.
Check freelander repair on the channel to have a vague idea.,

Hi really need your help please,i replaced the clutch and it appears to be stuck in gear,,the car will only start if i press clutch,,,let it go and car cuts out,,with engine off i cant even shift through the gears,what have i done wrong please
Must be a gear linkage. Maybe wrong way round.
@@WMCS ye I checked that but I let them fall back to were they were blue on top black on bottom,,,,there's only one thing I can think of,if I installed the wrong size clutch disc would I still be able to close up the box or would I have great difficulty closing it
What kind of oil do I need? Like behind the plastic plug?

Maybe the flywheel is not in the correct position
Or the crank sensor is faulty. Did you plug it back in.

That trans fluid was nasty..never changed before? Btw are those gripster gloves? I'm thinking of buying a box for test.
Definitely never been changed the oil. I don’t think a lot of people do change their gearbox oil .., it’s orange nitrate gloves. Very durable.
@@WMCS just did a flywheel + clutch job on my own Volvo V50 2.0D, i was shocked from the condition of the gearbox oil..going to change it again soon to flush out the remaining gunk...

I have followed the video religiously but I cannot get the gearbox off the engine I have a gap but it will not pop off like it does in your video
It’s probably just stuck on the dowel. Keep prying it evenly from the top down.
We have been on it all morning it’s like the drive shaft won’t come out the diff
There is a gap all the way around the box but the shaft won’t come out
I managed to get it off thank god

@@WMCS I'm just hearing in Australia, mechanics hate to do clutches on Nissan Qashqai. They are all 2.0 litre petrol here. Issues bleeding the concentric slave dual mass clutch system.

I used to won a Qashqai j10, Unfortunately, my mechanic scammed me using a used clutch and replacing the gearbox with a faulty one.
