Nothing against Sabatini, but she finished playing a match against Shriver-I think the end of the third set, then Manuela Maleeva, and then Evert. The commentators make it sound as if she played two full matches right before this match. As stated, Evert played the young Graf in the morning and then Sabatini here. I remember watching this match and thinking Sabatini would be number 1 in two or three years-fantastic talent, but the serve seemed to let her down as she matured.
@@jm7804 Well, when he talks about the WTA calendar of all the "good-looking players" and dedicating April to Sabatini, that feels weird considering she was 14. Over the years he commented about a number of male players (Edberg, Wawrinka) being "good-looking guys," and I've never heard anyone say anything other than he's making innocuous observations. Like you said, I've always heard he was a kindhearted human being.
@@davidmohan1095 McEnroe made a few about the male players- when he was just beginning as commentator, he said tennis marketing needed to emphasize some of the players' looks as did B.J. King in her first book. Worse was Barry McKay who said Evert had some of the best legs he had ever seen. Different time back then.

Thanks Bud Collins…..without you pointing out “net cord”, I would have never noticed. 🙄
Dick Enberg is making really creepy comments.
Like what? I didn't hear anything sketchy. He was a wonderful person.
