I think machine linked GPO's require a system restart before they apply. But a user link GPO printer would connect with gpupdate or just a logout/in.

Am i missing something here? You didn't configure your GPO at all????? So how could it work to deploy a printer?

When i browse for the GPO and press Apply, it says deploying printer connection failed. The specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted

The reason you didn’t find the GPO is probably because you have selected the wrong server, In the Video I have a Domain Controller DC and a FS which is also my print server. Create the GOP in the DC
Look video in minute 5:45 to 8:30 I’m creating the GPO in the DC server in minute 8:38 I’m in the FS server at 9:34. Linking the printer to the GPO, I hope this help
      Thanks
      Pat

I usually find that the delay of printers showing is due to the workstation pulling the print driver down. There has been times when restarting too quickly when printer didn't appear corrupts the locally held driver so be cautious at this point (to the point where the printer cannot be uninstalled without racing a stopped print spooler service - fun and games there). GPupdate should work when driver is fully installed locally :)
