So throwing in the "annoying onsite host" scenarios just sounds petty and defensive for something that's only a partial benefit. There are also plenty of situations where a user might prefer a live-in host, whether to make it more affordable or get the lay of an unfamiliar area/country/language. "With Vrbo, you don't have as many options, but you do have ad copy with ATTITUDE."

Obviously some inexperienced marketing INTROVERT created this ad! There are so many people who love the experience of interacting with the hosts and learning about the area they are staying in and getting the community vibes! So being an exclusive getaway for introverts excludes the whole rest of us extroverts who actually like to experience people, culture and community!

Once I saw the double charge, I tried to cancel with the host and my credit card company. My CC reversed it at first but then agreed with VRBO after the trip had long passed. So not only did I miss the funeral, I had to pay $1000 for a trip I didn't even go to, including a cleaning fee and admin fees that never happened.
