  • Goldwater scholars and current MD-PhD students review elements of a successful application, how to craft compelling essays, and how to ensure that your story comes through your application.
    Our panelists include:
Jill Jones - a second-year MD/PhD student at Harvard Medical School and MIT. Jill’s research interest is elucidating why brain tumors are more common and lethal in males and developing sex-specific target therapies for pediatric brain tumor patients.
Trae Dunn - a first-year MD-PhD student at Stanford School of Medicine. Trae is interested in bridging neuroscience and chemical biology to elucidate novel therapeutics to treat devastating neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Ryan Rahman - a first-year MD/PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Ryan hopes to use his physician-scientist training to leverage an understanding of how to ask the right questions about biological mechanisms as a path to creative, new treatments for patients.
Miguel Disbennett - a first-year MD/PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine who is passionate about the biomedical sciences and equitable access to healthcare and higher learning.
