    "You're trying to paint light, not things", great way of looking at it!

    Which paints would you recommend as a must have? I really liked the color you created in this painting and the still life set up was brilliant

    Paul I got the Centore book before you did and mine did not have the problems you mentioned, I adapted the pages so I can have chips by cutting it and using blu tack to put them on a page in order. I have been using it for almost 2 years and find it very useful, and its holding up well. I know some of the color chips may be off of the big book but they are all in relationship so its useable the way you do. I’m so sorry you had a bad experience with it. I wonder if you got back to Paul maybe he would send out a new one. Maybe its a case of like the versions of the Student book that are bad. Anyway I am very happy with mine.

    I learn the Carter method, using Color checker, Proportional Divider, and adapt to my paintings. " Made the things easy " my kind of stuff .

      I think there's quite a bit of cross over between Marc's approach and mine. We mostly differ on our approach to colour.

    It is interesting and very informative even at the beginning. Going slow is fine.

    Have you found the highest chroma magenta?
    Have you considered Vasari's Ruby Violet (PV19)?

    As a complete non artist it seems a really painful process getting the correct colour. I do enjoy your work and find it really relaxing to watch.

    Letting you know there is some hissing noise when you are talking , probably the noise gate for your using for mic 🎤 .
    Absolutely love your painting classes

    • @PaulFoxton
      @PaulFoxton  2 роки тому

      Yes, It is the gate. I think the hiss comes from the switch that controls which camera is live, it has a very loud fan. I think I've improved the noise levels for later videos.

    loving your videos Paul! drawing with a paint brush shows a you are a great artist. Did you make your palette?

    • @PaulFoxton
      @PaulFoxton  2 роки тому

      Thank you! The palette is from Prolificpainter.com and is actually part of a plein air set up, which I only ever use in the studio!

    Hi Paul! What's the music in the background? I think I heard you mentioned what it was in one of your videos but I can't remember which one was it to go back there and hear it again.

    • @PaulFoxton
      @PaulFoxton  2 роки тому +1

      It comes from a royalty free composer who pouts out his musinc at inchompetech.com. Although I actually bought a license for this music since I think his efforts should be rewarded, he's very good. THis one is just called "relaxing piano music" I think.

    Hi, please what are the paint chips from? If it is a book of chips what is the name of it?

    The background in the setup behind the pink flower looks a bit cool green to me, and would make a nice contract to the pink, whereas in your painting, the background is a very warm brown.

    How lethargic are you? It makes people feel sleepy when they watch you. Are you sure you are a painter?
