Tried the lentil-walnut taco "meat" today for the first time. I made grilled soft tacos using it with some daiya cheese, guacamole and salsa. My husband went crazy for it!
Looking at everything laid out on the table that you use to make your plates, what is the spice looking ingredient that is between the chopped green onions and the lemon? Appears to be some type of spice but not sure what. Please advise.
Hi Erin and Duston thanks for the delicious recipes and fun video !! One question ...how many cups of lentils do you end up putting in ? Asking in case I want to use canned lentils in a pinch ...thanks always ~ Elaine
Hi Elaine! 1c dry equals about 3 cups cooked. We used 2c dry but had TONS leftover because we like to keep it on hand in the fridge throughout the week to top salads and such! Hope this helps! :)
Oh gosh I have never made guac. Avocados all seem to be ripe at same time. Maybe this is a good idea. The taco meat seems amazing. For the cheese...in a few of the ones I've tried I have had success replacing cashew for white beans to reduce fat. Might this be successful here?
Absolutely! If you watch our broccoli cheddar soup recipe, blending butternut squash with onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutritional yeast makes for a pretty spot-on low fat cheese sauce as well! Guacamole is our favorite! We often times just whip an avocado by itself for a quick salad “dressing,” too! It’s amazing with just a squeeze of lemon or lime on top!
I never understood what is the hype with super bowl... Maybe because I'm not in the USA and I don't watch sports... But I like your recipe for this occasion and even if I won't do any special recipes for this, I can't wait to see more from you :)
I follow Dr. Essylstyn as I have CAD, therefore I cannot have any nuts, nut butters, avocado, oils or tahini. Do you have a video for dressings w/o those ingredients?
Lentil-walnut taco meat. Love it! Thanks for the awesome recipe. Sorry, not much of a football fan. But I love cooking for everyone. This will definitely be on the menu! I'll have to make ahead cuz we'll be at the Super Vegan Sunday that morning. Check out @veganstreetfair on instgram for a date near you. Can't wait! So many vegan events in February in So Cal.

Hehe Super Bowl or not, this is a delicious recipe for get togethers and parties, or even all to yourself!😄🙌🏻
It sounds like it :) Thanks!
The hype is that it's a get together for family and friends that doesn't require presents or buying things.
David Lundy So it's not about sport, but about the social aspect. Thanks!

So just seeds? Or are those out too?? Or do you want some ideas without any overt fats?
