Larry Bird was the best all-around player in NBA history.
This guy blows my mind every time I see a new highlight of his. Everything Bird did was a highlight.
Best ever all around player to ever play the game-One of a kind what a pleasure to watch him and have these amazing highlights
1:19 one of the best passes I've ever seen
Just beautiful to watch....the sheer beauty of the passing game.,Which is what basketball was invented for...teamwork..
The way he drew attention to himself only to shock the opponents with a slick pass was just mozart-esque
Oh how I miss those guys! I used to watch those '80s' Laker-Celtic playoffs and I was literally spent after them. What I really loved was the classic starting 5: Byrd, Kevin, Ainge, Chief, DJ. They were not fast or particularly athletic - but they were the absolute masters of the fundamentals, ball movement, and laser passing. And that passing is why they could run teams with younger, faster legs into total exhaustion - cause you just can't outrun great passing and ball movement! They truly showcased great basketball as a TEAM sport and were just so much joy and fun to watch. Hey, and they actually played defense back then, LOL.
Larry Bird was the total package. Top 10 all time great.
Top 5
He’s MY #1 😌
Top 5 still. It's ridiculous that Magic and Kareem are rated so much higher now when Bird was considered the first or second best player during their era, including by Magic and Kareem, who both said Bird was the best player they ever competed against. Yes, those two do have more rings and won 2-1 in the Laker v. Celtics Finals saga, but the Western Conference was also substantially weaker and much easier to get to the Finals and in decent shape/ health than in the East. Everyone knew in the 80s Bird was one of the best players to ever play. He was 1st or 2nd in the MVP voting most of that era, which is insane considering the other all-time greats that were also in the league at that time, including a young Jordan and Hakeem along with the greats from the Lakers and Celtics squads and many others.
LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN & MY TRUE GOAT 🐐
Bird is Amazing!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Larry isn't human, he's got eyes in the back of his head
Larry Legend is incredible and would be the best player in 2022.
Indescrivibile la qualità di Larry Bird! Semplicemente FENOMENALE ❤️👏🇮🇹
The factor that really gets overlooked compared to other elite passers like Magic or more recently Lebron is just about all the others tend to have the ball in their hands much of the shot clock with lots of time to set up various plays, whereas Bird could produce these miracle passes out of thin are when he barely even touched the ball sometimes. You might compare the basic numbers of Bird and Lebron, which slightly favor Bird anyway in terms of assist to turnover ratio, but then consider Bird had similar production despite much more physical and intense defense of the 80s and 90s and he barely needed to even touch the ball to create a play for teammates. Bird was still doing the standard bigman duty of 10 rpg often outrebounding the opposing team's center while shooting like a 3-point specialist, passing like a point guard, nailing 90% of his free throws, and then hitting the big shot clutch shot to close out the game. He was an incredible player, one of the absolute best I've ever seen. As for the ring counters, Bird had to beat Moses Malone, twin towers Hakeem and Sampson, and Worthy, Magic, and Abdul-Jabbar in just the Finals alone for his titles, one of the most difficult collection of opponents for those three rings you're likely to find.
I hadn't seen those clips before - thank you!!
🍻🥃🖖😎
He was phenomenal
Larry always liked to make his teammates look good as well.
I love that steal @2:09
Also the ones after 😂
His hand speed is ridiculous!
His brain speed even more so 👍
Bird was flashy, but not because he wanted to be. He did what had to be done to win
Good job not putting (annoying) backing music.
Bird passing was just as good ad Magics really
It's said that Magic made easy passes look amazing and Bird made amazing passes look easy
Also Bird never did anything flashy just to be flashy. His behind the back over the head stuff had a purpose because it was the right pass at the right time. The showyness was just a byproduct.
When you are such an accomplished passer you have a Part 1 video made for you
I firmly BELIEVE that had it not been for the absence of one of the GREATEST AWESOME players of the game (Pistol Pete Maravich) leaving the Boston Celtics and quite possibly rubbing off and SHOWING him different aspects of the game that Larry Bird wouldn't have become Larry Legend. And I'm a firm believer of giving credit where credit is due.
So many highlights from the Hartford Civic Center, my father and his best friend had season tickets there for the Celtics my brother and I would take turns and I’m pretty sure I was at a few of these games. I can’t watch now, I’ve tried but it’s not the same game
LL is awesome, but I think a blooper reel would be, umm, interesting. Probably about 2/3 sec long.
ty
1:58 This is some Bruce Lee stuff right here. 😲😂
If Bird showed up in today's NBA, LeBron James would never stop throwing up.
Josh giddy vibes. Haha
Rodman couldn’t guard Bird ever!
Damn the NBA used to be good. At least we have NFL football 🏈
Thought Larry died for a sec
Stop writing nonsense.
SOOOOOOOO many plays we still haven't seen LOL. Could have a 1000 parts (endless) :) I hate he is so disrespected by this current generation. Basketball is so over-rated now!
WTF you gonna do with him?
Have his team play the Lakers?
