The older generation want Russia and younger want EU. The younger suffer because of the older generation
That's accurate in the United States as well. The old are selfish theocrats and because of this the young mostly consist of passionate socialists.
The older generations remember better times under Moscow, while the younger less experienced generations are more idealistic rather than realistic, and look glamour-eyed towards Europe.

When USSR collapse those kids became adults and think it is hard time because of 90x. But 90x it wasn't democracy it was anarchy. It's always anarchy when political regime changes.

These are all understandable opinions. Yes, of course people have a higher standard of living with more order in Europe, but Moldova has also stagnated since the fall of the Eastern Bloc.

Guys im romanian and Moldova has always existed in Romania. Just that it was splitted and now Republic of Moldova deserves to be a Romanian territory again. If you see the real hystory you also see that Russia took Moldova away from Romania. I think that it should be a romanian territory again. (no hate if you want it to be a russian territory)

I am shocked by the mindset of older people (especially post-Soviet or Warsaw Bloc countries) better with Russia as young people go west. They therefore leave because the current Russia is an oligopoly mixed with politics and criminal elements. Young people leave because the oligarchs sit in power and make useful decisions, build gold toilets while an ordinary person counts cents, a tax-laden ordinary citizen but not a business, because you are not safe in your country. The West is certainly not a paradise but so far it is the best system. Where the situation is managed and the person has the opportunity to travel, study, earn and live. For God’s sake, don’t let these people vote! old people with their Soviet nostalgia deprive their children of coming. In Soviet times, in the past, it was a failed project with a planned economy and one idea. We need to vote for change but try not to attack from extreme to extreme. In the EU it is the light USSR (where freedom of speech is but with restrictions where you can buy everything and social responsibility against pensioners and the weak) there are no collective farms and forced labor but work is needed and possible and you have the right to choose.

Joining Eu and nato was the biggest mistake of Romania...You will lose all your young people and be a colony. On paper there will be ‘economic growth’ aka gdp but in reality cost of living will go way up as everyone will have to pay for Western products at western prices.

I have romanian blood but i have been born in Czechia. I would support union between Moldova and Romania, for me it makes sense.
This cannot happen, due to the Moldavian constitution, and Gagauzia. Gagauzia has the right to break way from Moldavia should this unification occur. This would leave Moldavia both without Gagauzia and Transnistria, which defeated Moldavia in the 1990s.

And on top of that, we are the fastest developing country in the world, meanwhile Russia is on a steep decline.
Also, we're a net exporter of most things Russia used to export, so the sanctioning of Russia is good news for us.
