"Fool's Game" by Glen Hansard from the album 'This Wild Willing,' available now

    Lyrics
    It’s a fool’s, fool’s game
Lover, that we have to play
    Crashing into each other
    No convalescing
    It’s a leap of faith
    Lover, that we blindly take
I’m taking it with you and no other
    No hesitating
And if our minds they go
    And our bones they shatter
    We’ll put it on nobody
    But ourselves
    It’s an old refrain
    Lover, that we hear again
    Urging a cautious measure
    Sounding a warning
    It’s a thin escape
Lover, that we hope to make
When we’re beaten, broken and battered
    Beyond consoling
    And the breezes blow
And to the winds we’re scattered
    And we’re fending for nobody
    But ourselves
    It’s a fool’s, fool’s game
When you’ve nothing but a heart to break
Better keep on breaking it, lover
    Until it opens
    It’s a speeding train
    Beating through the pouring rain
With no way to slow or stop it
    And the tracks are broken
    Like a rising wave
    Through the storms we gather
    And we’re falling on nobody
    But ourselves

Can anyone think of any Irish singer who conveys the human condition quite as amazingly and deeply as Glen? Damien Rice maybe, s'pose. A-MAZ-ING. Thanks Mr. Hansard.

I find it incredibly haunting when the pace/underlying heartbeat dies at 4:41 and Aida's voice comes in.

“I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality.”
....and no one can convey them to us, in quite the same beautiful and deeply touching way as you, dear Glen ~

Aida has such a beautiful haunting voice! I saw her live with Marketa once and she blew my mind with her voice and her daf! Love the song Glen! Each new song you release is getting me more and more excited for the album! Whatever creative journey you're on right now is really working for you man!

Okay, I'm going to be the bad guy here - anyone think of the song by Bonnie Tyler called, "It's A Heartache" while listening to this? Because seriously, that is the first thing that came to mind when I heard it. Just sayin'.
