I know Dewey's death was hard to take, but one of the original trinity was eventually going to have to die. And the ONLY way to get Sydney to come back was to kill Dewey. Beside it is a a suggested video titled: Interview with Woodsboro Survivor Kirby Reed. This was our first hint that Kirby survived SCRE4M.
I never cried so hard for a scream movie until this movie. Like I legitimately was bawling my eyes when Dewey died and seeing the reactions of Gale and Sidney broke me even more. I like this movie but I don’t love it compared to the others in the franchise but I’m excited for 6 that comes out in 2 weeks.

It was kind of poetic for Dewey to die protecting Tara and Sam, since he couldn't protect his sister Tatum. Also the "For Wes" in the ending credits is for the old director and creator of the franchise. He passed away but he did 4 of the movies.

They have sm chemistry and that’s another reason why Dewey’s death hit harder.

As a horror freak and Scream lover, every Scream movie exists to poke fun at modern horror and the different tropes throughout time. Scream one poker fun at the slasher craze of the 80s that had died by the mid 90s only for Scream to revive. The second one represents sequals, and their tropes, then the third trilogies. The 4th came out around the time every slasher movie was getting a remake, there originally wasn’t supposed to be a 4th one but since remakes became a trend, Scream had to come back and pick them apart as well. Then with Halloween 2018 starting the requal trend as of late, Scream 5 came out to poke more fun at our modern requals and “elevated” horror (elevated horror trend started around 2010). Really Scream is just a love letter to slashers and the different eras of it. Love watching people see them for the first time.
It’s a bummer you guys have seen all the marketing for 6, because Tara’s survival on the opening was so shocking. It’s the first movie in the franchise to show an opening survival. This one is pretty polarizing. A lot of people don’t love the new direction, but I personally love it. It’s my favorite sequel after 2.
I was wishing she would survive. Why can't the first girl survive this time? I was happy when she did. This time I wanted them to kill Ghostface and unmask him halfway through the movie (in the hospital hallway would have been good) because there's (usually) a second killer, so that would have been interesting. I really liked this movie. I am not unhappy Sidney won't be in the next one because I am happy with her getting out of this loop and being happy with Mark and the kids. Maybe the kids will show up in some later film or maybe not.
Agreed If you ever do a horror franchise series again try not to look at posters or trailers. If you know someone is going to be in the next film then there’s no suspense in the film you’re watching.

The original script for this had Tara and Amber as Girlfriends but it was changed, if that ended up in the final cut both killers would have been the partner of one of the sisters
this franchise in general (including the first) has people doing insane feats of strength and other things that aren't possible (like dewey surviving being stabbed multiple times) so it really doesn't matter that much.
@@greyambrosia That's not entirely correct. Every day, real people are stabbed multiple times and survive. Look at 12-year-old Payton Leutner, stabbed 19 times including to two major organs, left to die in the woods, but she made it.
Nothing she did required any feat of strength. He got distracted by a phone call and she stabbed him in the abdomen with a blade specifically designed to gut bucks and other wildlife. Once he was in pain and on toes, she stabs him in the back. Nothing requiring strength. Nothing Amber couldn’t handle.
I love the scene when gale first reconnects with Dewey again because it was so real. Since David and Courtney had been married and this was their first time working together since their divorce it just made it feel all that more emotional
One of the things I liked about this movie was the kills were so gruesome. Even the opening scene with Jenna, that was rough to watch, then in the hospital when she’s trying to get away in the wheelchair… Jenna is a great actress. Also there is a deleted scene where Mindy and Sam are talking after Judy’s death and Sam says something along the lines that it’s a distraction then asks the cop who’s with her sister.
Neve said in an interview that "the offer made by Paramount/Spyglass Media "did not equate to the value" she brought to the franchise so she turned down the role for Scream 6."

Please don't rob yourselves from the experience of watching Scream in the cinema. There was a 10 year gap between 4 and 5 so you never know when you're going to get a new one. If you're into it they're also showing Scream 6 in 3D and 4D.
They’re a content channel that just made money reacting to the first five and they’re only a couple weeks away from it being on VOD. There’s very little reason they wouldn’t finish this journey for more content to build their channel. Them reacting to 6 is why they’re getting a sub from me when it drops.

A good way to tell who was in the costume during the killings and who made the calls. Amber is more crazy and staby staby. Example she attacked Chad, Judy, Dewy, Vince. Richie attacked Terra, Wes, Mindy.
The kills in this movie go's as follows Amber obviously kills dewey and liv she also gets the kill on Judy Richie kills vince and wes as well as deputy clay who he kills offscreen
Just as an aid for when you watch Scream 6. The height, weight, strength, voice, clothes, athletic ability, etc of Ghostface do not factor into who the killer is. They have a stunt performer act as Ghostface in all the movies. Wes (director of 1-4), Matt, and Tyler (5-6) have all stated that none of that can be considered when figuring out who the killer is bc they don’t factor it in. Amber was the one who killed Dewey, yet there’s no way they’re even the same height or strength. That’s why we don’t count them bc it never mattered. The only time a Ghostface was played by the actual killer was in Scream ‘96 for just one scene. Skeet Ulrich (Billy Loomis) played Ghostface in the “Behind you Jamie!” scene
A couple slight corrections: They also filmed that "killer behind Randy" scene with Lillard wearing the costume. Also, Jack Quaid (Richie) wore the Ghostface costume behind Mindy, mimicking that scene from the original.
PLEASE something to remember is don’t look at the physical attributes of ghostface. It doesn’t help determine anything. It’s just stuntmen but amber did unalive Dewey. Ghostface is a form of themselves.

31:54 - if you look closely at the episode of Dawson's Creek on screen right now, you'll see Scott Foley in that episode being shown. Scott Foley played Roman Bridger (the killer in Scream 3). That episode (which aired in 1998) had Foley's character do a Ghostface-type impression to scare Michelle Williams' character. Scream 3 came out 2 years later

if no one has this said already but wes' death was also in part of wes craven's death who directed the other screams so when it said "for wes" at the end that was a tribute to wes craven who died a few years after the 4th scream, 7 years before this one.
Such a cool Easter Egg to have Sam's last name be Carpenter. As in John Carpenter who directed Halloween, which had the doctor character named Sam Loomis also named after Sam Loomis in Psycho. And if Sam went by her real dad's last name, she'd be the third Sam Loomis to grace our screens. And the "FOR WES" at the end made me a little teary the first time I saw this in theaters. This is the only film franchise that I have seen every one on the big screen, and I look forward to this weekend! Also, the Dewey/Gale scene always makes me cry as such a longtime fan of this franchise. You feel their real history and characters' history and it's just such great acting work for a horror movie. And I was sad about Judy - even though she's a wackadoo - she was so helpful in taking Jill down in Scream 4, they did her dirty in this one, but at least her son didn't have to see her dead before he died too. Mindy as Randy's niece is the perfect new Randy too!
Problem for you guys is that you watched the trailer for six without watching this. So you know what is happening or won't happen. You should have waited. Thats just my opinion. I love your reactions.
With this film, Scream becomes the third Horror franchise with a character named Sam Loomis (as with Billy Loomis being Sam Carpenter's father, she is technically a Sam Loomis) after "Psycho" and "Halloween"

Absolutely loved this! I knew your reactions to this film would be priceless! I also have a theory about Dewey, maybe he's alive. If you look online you can see where David Arquette expressed interest in making new Scream films AFTER the release of this one proved to be a hit. Also, we only saw one body bag being taken from the hospital, yet there were 2 deaths on that floor; Dewey and the cop that had his throat slashed. Dewey has more than enough friends on the police force, maybe he made an agreement to go into hiding after treatment, play dead to protect Gale perhaps? I know his injuries looked pretty fatal, his death seems so final, but so did Kirby's, so did Billy's, so did Amber's! Just a thought 😉 Anyways, yes, I loved this! You guys are wonderful, I love that you keep the little slip ups in like when Adam said Scream 6 at the beginning, I adore that, you guys are so genuine. There's a continuity error with Stu's house. The door that leads to the basement in this movie was actually the closet that Sidney jumped out of in the original. This mistake probably happened because Scream V was filmed on a set replica of the original house, but apparently they made a mistake in the layout.
Great video! I never really watch a lot of reaction videos, but you guys make it interesting. It’s always fun watching people try to figure out who the killer is too.
My thing is with the movie is that they Properly set up amber and sam conflict and why amber dislike sam and try to manipulate people and where it seems like sam and amber is gonna go at it in act 3 then switch it up where gale and amber had beef with each other . But I most likely understand why they had a conflict over Dewey death.
Personally, I think amber wasn't going to be Ghostface until she met Richie because Richie was the one obsessed and then Richie made amber fall in love with Ghostface too and she loved the movies before bur wouldn't be crazy about it until Richie got her obsessed and Richie probably made amber, and her parents buy the house which got her even more invested. When one of you said that Richie never asked Mindy to go downstairs with him....he actually did ask, and even though she said that was good, she still declined to go with him, which was probably kinda a good thing, because he likely would have killed her down there.

Wes (director of 1-4), Matt, and Tyler (5-6) have all stated that none of that can be considered when figuring out who the killer is bc they don’t factor it in. Amber was the one who killed Dewey, yet there’s no way they’re even the same height or strength. That’s why we don’t count them bc it never mattered.
The only time a Ghostface was played by the actual killer was in Scream ‘96 for just one scene. Skeet Ulrich (Billy Loomis) played Ghostface in the “Behind you Jamie!” scene
A couple slight corrections: They also filmed that "killer behind Randy" scene with Lillard wearing the costume. Also, Jack Quaid (Richie) wore the Ghostface costume behind Mindy, mimicking that scene from the original.

PLEASE something to remember is don’t look at the physical attributes of ghostface. It doesn’t help determine anything. It’s just stuntmen but amber did unalive Dewey. Ghostface is a form of themselves.

Jenna Ortega as tara was amazing she was great in the opening (same goes to Sam, Richie, Mindy and Chad) I love how they handled the leagcy characters wished they could have gotten more screentime. I even liked Sam being the daughter of Billy lewis i thought it was very intersting take to do.

31:54 - if you look closely at the episode of Dawson's Creek on screen right now, you'll see Scott Foley in that episode being shown. Scott Foley played Roman Bridger (the killer in Scream 3). That episode (which aired in 1998) had Foley's character do a Ghostface-type impression to scare Michelle Williams' character. Scream 3 came out 2 years later

if no one has this said already but wes' death was also in part of wes craven's death who directed the other screams so when it said "for wes" at the end that was a tribute to wes craven who died a few years after the 4th scream, 7 years before this one.
Such a cool Easter Egg to have Sam's last name be Carpenter. As in John Carpenter who directed Halloween, which had the doctor character named Sam Loomis also named after Sam Loomis in Psycho. And if Sam went by her real dad's last name, she'd be the third Sam Loomis to grace our screens. And the "FOR WES" at the end made me a little teary the first time I saw this in theaters. This is the only film franchise that I have seen every one on the big screen, and I look forward to this weekend!
Also, the Dewey/Gale scene always makes me cry as such a longtime fan of this franchise. You feel their real history and characters' history and it's just such great acting work for a horror movie. And I was sad about Judy - even though she's a wackadoo - she was so helpful in taking Jill down in Scream 4, they did her dirty in this one, but at least her son didn't have to see her dead before he died too.

Absolutely loved this! I knew your reactions to this film would be priceless! I also have a theory about Dewey, maybe he's alive. If you look online you can see where David Arquette expressed interest in making new Scream films AFTER the release of this one proved to be a hit. Also, we only saw one body bag being taken from the hospital, yet there were 2 deaths on that floor; Dewey and the cop that had his throat slashed. Dewey has more than enough friends on the police force, maybe he made an agreement to go into hiding after treatment, play dead to protect Gale perhaps? I know his injuries looked pretty fatal, his death seems so final, but so did Kirby's, so did Billy's, so did Amber's! Just a thought 😉 Anyways, yes, I loved this! You guys are wonderful, I love that you keep the little slip ups in like when Adam said Scream 6 at the beginning, I adore that, you guys are so genuine. There's a continuity error with Stu's house. The door that leads to the basement in this movie was actually the closet that Sidney jumped out of in the original. This mistake probably happened because Scream V was filmed on a set replica of the original house, but apparently they made a mistake in the layout.

Great video! I never really watch a lot of reaction videos, but you guys make it interesting. It’s always fun watching people try to figure out who the killer is too.
My thing is with the movie is that they Properly set up amber and sam conflict and why amber dislike sam and try to manipulate people and where it seems like sam and amber is gonna go at it in act 3 then switch it up where gale and amber had beef with each other . But I most likely understand why they had a conflict over Dewey death.
Personally, I think amber wasn't going to be Ghostface until she met Richie because Richie was the one obsessed and then Richie made amber fall in love with Ghostface too and she loved the movies before bur wouldn't be crazy about it until Richie got her obsessed and Richie probably made amber, and her parents buy the house which got her even more invested. (Before every like NOOOOO comment starts coming just don't please)
Also, I think to add onto this Amber was groomed to be intrigued by richie since he was so obsessed

Holy shit guys I just saw Scream 6 it’s as good as Scream 4 and 1. The mystery was maybe not quite as in depth but I loveddddd what they did with it! It really truly was some incredible writing.
