- London, a city of history and charm, has its own secrets lurking in the shadows. Today, we're diving deep into the lesser-known side of the city to unveil the top 3 areas with the highest reported crime rates. 💼🔒
London might seem like a haven of safety compared to its global counterparts, but hold on to your hats because we've got some jaw-dropping stats to share. 📊 Brace yourselves for a shocking revelation about the crime hotspots that even seasoned Londoners might not be fully aware of. 🕵️♂️
🥉 Number 3: Kensington and Chelsea 🥉
Ah, Kensington and Chelsea - the epitome of opulence and grandeur. 🏰🌆 Who would've thought that this upscale borough could harbor a darker side? With 115 crimes per 1000 people annually, it's clear that not even luxury is immune to criminal activity. Burglaries are the leading misdeeds here, which just goes to show that riches don't guarantee safety.
🥈 Number 2: Westminster 🥈
Westminster, the heart of political power and regal elegance, isn't exempt from London's crime narrative. 🏛️👑 Surprised? Hold onto your belongings, because this borough witnesses a staggering 189 crimes per 1000 people. It's like a magnet for thieves and pickpockets! Don't let the historic landmarks fool you - thefts are the order of the day here.
And now, folks, for the grand reveal... 🥁
🥇 Number 1: The City of London 🥇
Get ready for a plot twist that'll make your jaw drop! 🤯 With a population of under 10 thousand, you wouldn't expect the City of London to take the crown for the highest crime rate, would you? But, wait for it - at a whopping 665 crimes per 1000 people, this area trumps them all. 🏙️ The City's allure draws visitors from all corners, and unfortunately, this popularity comes at a cost - a high crime rate that's not for the faint of heart.
If you're as shocked as we are, hit that like button to show some appreciation for the hidden truths of London's neighborhoods. 🧡👍 Share this eye-opening video with fellow adventurers, because knowledge is power, even when it comes to understanding the darker side of our favorite cities.
Remember, folks, while London is an incredible destination, it's essential to stay vigilant and informed about the areas you're exploring. Keep those wits about you, and until next time, stay curious and stay safe out there! 🌟🌆

the video is about the highest reported crime areas, that's a bit different.
We all were thinking of Croydon.
Croydon is mouth London. Nothing on Custom House or Canning Town
I was thinking Newham or Southwark 💀💀💀

Croydon is the worst for violent crime
Peckham 😅
This is a misrepresentation of dangerous. These 3 boroughs are the safest in London.
I didn’t say they’re dangerous. They just have the highest number of reported crime
Richmond is safer than these 3
@@UrbanStorieshit that like if you find london dangerous
Dude your title is literally "Dangerous Areas Of London". @@UrbanStoriesbut the video title is literally "dangerous cities of london"?
It’s actually Croydon which is the most dangerous.
This video is listing ALL crimes. Not just violent crime.
Croydon isn't even that dangerous.

@@mildlydispleased3221I lived in Croydon for 10 years, it was a lot safer than Leeds and Nottingham. I think it's because there's a lot of Black people there why people don't like it but as they aren't honest, they pass it off as crime. Brixton in the 90s, now that was a rough place

665 crimes per 1000 people in only the case because of the lack of people who actually live there

Uk knife crime is not nearly as bad as the media shows
Knife crime in UK is lower than in USA without the huge numbers killed by guns every year in USA

@@neverseenbeforenowNo, knife crime per capita is lower in London than many areas in the US (such as NYC) and is lower per capita in the UK than the US too

665 per 1000 people is completely misleading. The small population of the City of London Borough is swelled multiple times by half a million commuter workers. London also has over 20m tourists who visit per year.

I used to live in Croydon and I haven't been stabbed ... Yet
As a Hackney boy born in the 70's this is the opposite of what I expected.
Im thinking the crimes he's talking about are non-violent types and shoplifting and pickpocketing...
As I said in the video, the majority of reported crime in these areas is theft and robbery.
These areas aren't dangerous, the crime is mostly pickpocketing or scams because they're the main activity and tourist areas. To find dangerous areas look for violent crimes, you'll find Lambeth, Southwark and Croydon are more dangerous than these areas listed.
I didn’t say they are dangerous. They have the highest number of reported crime.
@@UrbanStoriesthe video is titled dangerous areas of London, and you said "the most dangerous area of London is the city of London"
@@UrbanStories😂 look at the title dud
yeah, try to read the irony through it.
@@UrbanStoriespointless video. Should show boroughs with highest violent crime rate. Pickpocketing doesn’t = most dangerous.
It's because these are the busiest areas, mostly petty crime, if you look at crime such as violent crime these areas will be fairly low.
#1 London
#2 London
#3 London 😂
What's funny?
Shocker. Areas with highest crime rates have barely any residents but lots of people passing by
It makes sense that the city has the highest crime rate since that's where all the big financial institutions are and thus where all the -merchant- bankers are.
I grew up in London but left in 1990. I went back some 20 years later in 2010 with my 5 year old daughter. It felt very safe and clean, better than in the 80's and 90's. Never felt any threat at all. I want to visit again but it seems within the last ten years things have changed a lot?
Not really. This video paints a misleading picture because in these areas most of the crime is pickpocketing and scamming due to the high number of tourists. Keep your wits about you and you'll be fine. Knife crime isn't as big an issue as the media makes it out to be, there are some rough areas but even there knife crime is mostly between rival gangs.
I'm not misleading with the video, I didn't say your life is in danger in this areas, they're simply the boroughs with the highest number of reported crime.
If your not rich don’t worry but dont do anything dumb as well
It's got better, just don't go to Brixton.
@@mildlydispleased3221 Brixton is safer these days - you'll still find people who are fighting at McDonald's and all that, and some people on the street can be aggressive sometimes, but you aren't gonna get knifed down by a guy in a balaclava or anything like that
City of London, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster are the nicest and safest places in London, the most dangerous places are 1.hackney 2.newham 3.tower hamlets and then after that in no particular order it's Haringey, Lambeth, Lewisham, Brent, Southwark, Waltham forest, Islington, camden
Historically Lambeth has left everyone in its trail and even then the figures are low as people used to never report most crimes out of fear of retribution.
One of the most violent boroughs is Croydon. One of the worst boroughs in London
Why is it so dangerous 😮
@@emotivelyy_🧒🏿🧒🏿🧒🏿
They're counting all crime, not just violent crime, and the wralth8and touristy areas are going to have more burglary and petty crime like pickpockets
Mate, Bromley, Havering and Newham are shitholes, Croydon is actually a nice place.
Top 3 Areas for the highest cocaine usage
Now this one is BASED hahahaha
I feel like the most dangerous has to be places like Croydon, Hackney, Tower Hamlets or Newham
And I live in Newham so when Ill tell you I have hundreds of crazy stories about some random crimes
Like once some kid in my school was killed in a gang fight with another school oh and there was also a drug dealer on my roof once
This is wrong - As a Londoner these are the safest abreast.. try Hackney, Peckham, Tottenham etc etc
I didn’t say they are dangerous. They have the highest number of reported crime
Hackney is absolutely not that dangerous anymore.
20 years ago it was, however now it's all gentrified and the whole Borough has completely changed.
Your info is out of date.
Are you being serious? The way you've messuraed this is bollocks, the most dangerous boroughs in London are tower hamlets, barking and dagenham, croydon, newham and lewisham anong others
The video is about areas that get high number of crime reports. I didn't measure it myself, these are the official stats.
@@UrbanStories what 'stats' provide this information then?
@@UrbanStoriesokay fair enough the met police crime statistics say something simlar but youve missed out the decimal point in all these lol
Big man. It's not talking about wet road men doing moves. Talking about overall crime. Imagine how many houses a day must get burgled in areas like Chelsea?
Only crack heads burgle houses in areas like Newham.
I knew a don who burgled a house in Dagenham once. He said he walked in checked the whole house and there was nothing worth taking 😂
atleast all of us were thinking of croydon or brixton 💀
The safest place in London is parliament bc nothing goes on there
The safest place in London is... Spain.
The Tories are being murdered in debates.
The subsidised bar is always busy. Ive seen it.
I have worked in the city of London for over 20 years and would dispute your stats it is very safe and not seen or heard of any crimes in that time
Yes, the point of the video is that some of the nicest areas of London ironically have the highest number of reported crime
@@UrbanStories I could agree with the first two but the last one is a questionable stat as the number of residents in the city is so low but each day a huge amount of people come into the area using one number as the base for the crimes involving the people visiting the area is not a meaningful stat
tbf most of the time knife crime isnt even reported bc it largely targets other criminals in other gangs so the crime rate seems far lower than it is
and even if you arent most people wouldnt bother reporting it because the people that did it are already being searched for by police
I presume this is based on crimes per resident? The City of London has around 8,853 residents; 587,000 people working there; around 21m tourists pa; plus the millions of vehicles that travel through the City.
Brixton,peckham,croydon,tower hamlets,lewishham
A lot of places see much more violent crime, smaller crime is just more situated in these places because of tourism and population. These are definitely no where near the most dangerous parts of London.
Day 30 of dude what tts voice are you using? 😢
During the day and evening, the City has a huge non-resident population of workers.
Kensington and Chelsea is very badly split, on one side of the road you have multi million pound mansions on the other side you’ve got council estates full of people in poverty
What happened to Brixton and Peckham and all of South London?
Mate you forgot Lewisham, Peckham, Brixton and way way mote
Whats wrong with Lewisham
Bro at first I shouted Brixton and Hackney
This video is somewhat misleading.
Those crimes, in those areas, will mostly be non-violent/non-dangerous petty crimes of minor thefts.
The video is about the boroughs with the highest reported crime as per Met police. I didn't say your life will be in danger there.
@@UrbanStoriesyou described them as the most dangerous areas which just isn't true though
@@_CaptainCookieyour bias is screaming rn he said at the beginning london is relatively more safer than other cities
@@omegatigerwoods I know London is safer than other cities, but the areas he said were the most dangerous in London aren't the most dangerous, incidences of violent crime are higher in other boroughs in London that aren't mentioned in this video. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea
@@_CaptainCookie that's not what this video is about it's about the most reported crimes and he even states the type of crime in that area. he's not trying to make it seem like the most dangerous areas
you know nothing about london if you’re only circling the centre of k&c & westminster when the boroughs stretch further than that
It’s not my own data, the numbers are from Met Police
The city of london is close to the o2 on greenwhich right?
I live in London... I wouldn't be worried about those areas 😅. I go into Croydon at least twice a week and a place I'd avoid unless you know the borough
Bro Kensington is bad because right next to the poshest mansions you have people living in poverty resorting to crime because of things like serious lack of youth investment and abandonment by the government of kids growing up in the poor areas. The money is there in the council, but of course it’s spent on security for the rich neighbourhoods, not on trying to lift the poor out of misery (and thus almost definitely reduce stuff like crime rate).
Burglary and pick pocketing are not considered violent crimes. Look at stabbings and shootings
I never said they’re violent
Very true. But violent crimes should be counted when looking at safety. I will feel lot safer in Westminster and Kensington compared to other areas
brixton, peckham, hackney and croydon:
👁️👄👁️
As an ultra rich from Kensington and Chelsea i agree that every homeless person has at least 3 pairs of Choos and a Bugatti
The highest reported (!) type of crime in Keningston and Chelsea might be burglary, but in total I am pretty sure the most commited type of crime there is tax fraud or corruption...
I've lived in London for years and never had anything stolen. Went to Brighton for a day and got my phone nicked lol
Has this dude not heard of southwark? Home to peckham, elephant and castle, london bridge, surrey quays?
Obviously this is just what gets reported. Including unreported crimes (which obviously isn’t possible) and the main city areas like these will be a dreamland. On the housing estates, nobody reports a robbery or assault. They just go home
Southwark lambeth croydon lewisham newham hackney enfield shepherd bush ladbroke grove and notting hill left the chat
What a load of nonsense....All very safe areas...the only crimes are probably tax fraud😂
It's my favourite city, lived there for years, and still visit 2/3 times a year...never been robed yet...
I've lived here for near enough 40 years and haven't suffered a crime yet
Me sitting in Peckham thinking it's not that bad 👀😂
The stats are terrible because they are focused on places with very small residents and huge visitors.
These 3 places have high crime for different reasons. Theyre probably the safest places in lomdon.
Dangerous? 665 pickpocketing or significantly less stabbings in Tottenham or Croydon, which is more dangerous?
As a londonder this is some bulllllllshhiiiiiittttt
These boroughs have relatively low population density, so showing the crime rate per thousand people is misleading
I lived in London for over 10 years and work there for several decades i never had a problem with crime but I do make sure I'm not a victim of crime like some people do they almost asked to be robbed.
Chelsea is one of the safest places in London
If it's reported crimes, then it does make sense. But that wouldn't make it the most dangerous. Dangerous for theft, but I wouldn't say it was life threatening areas.
Croydon, Newham, Brixton 😮
In 5 years in London I’ve been within less than 1 km of at least 5 murders 😅
Croydon Peckham Brixton are top of my list iv never been to London but iv heard of these places
All the places you mentioned have a small population but a lot of people work there qnd commute there so there is more crime per people who live there
When i was in london the scariest area was peckham, woolwich and deptford
Nah bro. I live in the UK and South London is definitely the worst of all. There’s crazy roadmen (UK gangsters) there that fucking does turf war to random people

Bro never went to east london, or croydon, barking, lewisham, Woolwich 😭 these stata are also skewed af because all of these are tourists spots where millions of people walk through each month. Data is meaningless and the video is useless
London could be my home in future so i will definitely gonna live far from these places
I thought it was Peckham or Hackney, Tower Hamlets, etc but not these areas where I’ve always felt safe at any time of the day! 😮
The areas are safe, they just have higher number of reported crime, that's the whole point of the video.
London is safe city? Where'd you hear that ?
Compared to many other cities of similar size
High crime rate does not mean dangerous areas. Finsbury is dangerous
Depends what you mean by danger. These are the places you are most likely to lose your belongings, but you are less likely to undergo physical harm.
Hardly anyone lives in the city of London, so the rate per 1000 people is going to be very high. These comparisons are useless
That's not true. These are the safest areas. Crime only matters here because only these people matter. They turn a blind eye where all the crime actually happens because those people don't matter.
Most of the crime committed in The City of
London work in the financial sector. Absolute leeches
I've never had or seen any problems in those areas though I do know that phone theft is common in Oxford Street.

People saying "no way, this area is way more dangerous" are mainly listing areas with a lot of gang crime but that gang crome doesnt tend to impact people who arnt in gangs so the crime rate is relatively low compared to the touristy areas with a lot of pickpockets
