  • For next-level traction to conquer the roughest terrain, Can-Am-exclusive Smart-Lok* technology is the new benchmark. A true full lockable on-the-fly front differential with electronically-controlled automatic modes, or with the simple press of a button that offers preset, intelligent calibrations for your type of riding. Using multiple input sources, "Smart mode” will instantaneously engage locking with the right load at the right moment. Never before have riders been given maximum traction while retaining low-speed maneuverability, allowing optimal placement and a feeling of confidence that allows for the Maverick X3 X RC Turbo to be unleashed sooner than ever.
    *Smart-Lok was developed in conjunction with TEAM Industries, a market leader in the drive train industry

    I would love one of these.
    They are just SO restricted in California. Wish they could be made somewhat street legal like in Utah.

    They just eliminated the last reason to even consider any Polaris junk.

    Does it confirm that you are in activ trail or mud on the digital center display when you toggle the switch? My 2019 does not.

      Polaris have diff locks in their machines? So what is your point

    Looks cool, although I do a decent amount of trail riding with some Rock crawling sprinkled in and I've never once needed my front locked on my rzr. I'm sure there are those that will benefit from this tech but for me it would just be something to potentially repair and cost me more money

    Smart-Lok? Yeah it will work for a while until the clutch wears out. Just make the real lockers that are proven. You don’t need it in full locker for long. Just to get you out of the difficult area, then smashin time! This smart-lok will only prove itself to be not dependable. But don’t get me wrong, love Can Am. They just need to give us the good shit!! Real lockers!

      Full lock is not needed for long, you're correct. Which means the clutch pack will last a very long time!!! Because it's only applying that pressure for full lock for a very short period. It also unlocks it basically instantly meaning that the other components won't have to deal with the stress of having it fully locked while moving for those short periods until you unlock it.

    I’d rather have a mechanical locker. You can’t go wrong with the TorqLock. It’s proven in other vehicles besides side by sides.

    just think the trouble this is going to be when it fails,not to mention the cost.Why make a simple locking diff so complicated,its not like other manufacturers haven't been using diff locks before making this a new invention.

    • @raymondnewbill5294
      @raymondnewbill5294 4 роки тому +1

      It's not complicated at all.... It is essentially the same set up a ton of lockers use, the only difference is this one is slightly variable!!!

    locker is still trash it uses clutches to engage the diff lock so it will wear out over time , like canam belts.

      check out the sparc drive - it's a "locker" that doesn't use clutches or brakes.
