Your videos are so good! So many good ideas for kids. I love how you show how to change the same cooked food into a different menu. Saves lots of time. Love it!
When i found out about you there were only 10k subs. But now you have a big family , it makes me so happy . Really i wish you in future you must have more subscribes...❤️❤️❤️❤️
I made the salad dressing last week and we all really like it!! It's a very good new alternative to my usual oil and lemon juice dressing :) Thank you for this, Miwa :)
yey!!!! The first dressing I showed in the video is my recent obsession! haha I'm super happy to hear that you gave a shot and liked it!! thank you for sharing !!! I also wanna try your lemon juice dressing too!
I love the tahini tofu dressing so much! it's #1 favorite! I made it last night and ate it w/ mizuna mix salad (just finished lunch now). I also paired it with your broccoli corn miso soup from your no cook breakfast video. I added tofu and wakame. loved my healthy delicious lunch!!
Thank you so much for your recipes and tips. My 2 year old toddler is starting to get picky with vegetables. My repertoire for healthy meals is very limited too.. I tried one or two of your recipes yesterday (the miso omelette on healthy breakfast one). My toddler ate 1 piece of "sengiri" carrot! Success! 😂
Wow today I catched your video soon... You're tofu tahini sauce and the vibrant crunchy salad looked amazingly well and colorful... Atlast I have got my minced chicken recipe today... I really enjoyed today's video Miwa... Your meal prep is inspiring... Keep doing it. Lots of love Miwa... Bye bye Matane💟💟💟
Miwa San! Such great ideas, the vibrant vegetables look so delicious I end up having to eat my daughters leftover veggies too! I agree with you for being patient with kids and veggies. I make the tofu burgers too but I don’t use any meat products, just tofu. Will make the chicken for my husband, I know he will enjoy it😋
hello miwa-san! I'm subsribed to several japanese and many other cooking channels and I've never made their recipes or just a few. for some reason, your recipes got me started cooking again and stop being lazy lol. I wish I found your channel a lot sooner! I especially love your breakfast carrot omelette and carrot soup 😊😊
Hello Miwa-san...these are wonderful recipes! I am going to try your teriyaki meatballs. I make meatballs with minced chicken but never thought to add tofu. That is such a great idea. I also thought I could make them without the teriyaki sauce and serve with a dipping sauce much like eating gyoza. I enjoy a simple sauce of shoyu with several drops of rayu oil as my dipping sauce because I like a little spice. And to use the leftovers in chirashi sushi is brilliant. Thank you for such great ideas 🙌🏼 mata ne 😊🇨🇦
aww!! another great idea!! meat ball with dipping sauce!! I probably prefer that way since teriyaki is sometimes too sweet for me!! I would also add little bit of vinegar to it! Thank you very much for sharing Janet san!
Thank you very much for your kind word animedicine!!! If you make , let me know which one called you name!!! I'm very curious since all of them are my family's favorite!
it's very simple and there is a small hole for the steam to escape too. It's on my web linked to the Amazon! I hope this helps! www.shinagawa-japanese-cooking.com/shop
Interesting putting apple in the dressing, never thought of that, though I doubt my daughter will eat it; she hates all sauces so that makes it really challenging. She eats teriyaki sauce but that's about it. Luckily that she in general eats veggies as long as it is plain boiled. I always put some in het bento as well. I think she'll like the tofu teriyaki meatballs. she loves tofu. I always shred steamed chicken with my hands, I find that the easiest way. I just keep putting the veggies on her plate and I'll see if she'll eat it. she learned to eat green onion/negi in a chicken dango goma soup and now suddenly she eats spinach. And soup is always good for fussy kids hahaha just blend and make potage and they don't notice usually. I'm going to try the chirashi sushi sometimes, though she still refuses vinegar dishes, but she keeps asking for sushi.
If your lovely daughter eats veggies as plain, I think that's the best! I wish mine would eat that way! They just need some kind of sauce to go with it! haha but I'll try sometime without to see if they enjoy the natural flavor itself! It's funny that I was talking to the other mom that soup is always a win for kids! I totally agree with you!! haha That's why I make lots of miso soup + onigiri! I just feel good that way! thank you for sharing as always Tamara!
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking my experience is that it is often not the taste but the texture. Saya hated to eat hard veggies so I used to boil them very soft. Now at almost 7 I'm able to give her some more texture veggies but she still doesn't really like stir fries or salads. Add bitter is still a no go (but my husband is a fussy eater that doesn't help). what also is a great idea if you have an oven toaster or oven make fries shaped of things like nasu or courgette coat with panko and bake golden brown. Works like magic hahaha
I have a question about the tofu tahini carrot Apple dressing how long does it last in the refrigerator given tofu's natural natural tendency to though release liquid over time. It looks really good and I wanna make it next week I just am a little confused on the shelf life of the dressing
thank you im a foriegner and im struggle to cook japanese foods for my kids. i would like to know how much you spend or budget for 1 week for 4 people thank you
haha!! Yes... wasting food is the most unpleasant thing to do.... 😰😰but we ended up backing into the pan... not sure it was sanitary ok or not though! We do eat lots of tofu since we have many variety of it... Also, we don't have much other plant based protein alternatives. What's your go-to protein source ??
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking Ah I'm sure the heat would have killed anything, plus 5 second rule! Erm well, I do eat meat but I try to only eat it a few times a week and have veggie meals between. The vegan scene is massive here so there are plenty of plant-based "meats" to choose from but 90% are wheat/soya based so no good for me! I've found which are pea protein or mushroom based which are alright. Mostly though I'll just have vegetables/beans to replace the meat as it's cheaper.

Avoid meal drama by providing good food and allow your kids to make their own selections.
General question: Do you use MSG aka glutamate? What do people in japan think about than? Is it unhealthy?
I loved the video!!!! Off topic but you are very pretty!!! 😅
Thank you very much for your kind word Maria!!!
Miwa sensei! Can the tofu meatballs be frozen and used in batches?
yes! Certainly!! you can either microwave them or steam them after that!
I could feel the disappointment when the meatball went splat lol. I feel like Japan runs on Tofu lol, it makes me sad because I can't eat it :(

Is there a name for the bowl that you used to grind the sesame seeds?
we call suribachi in Japanese.

Can you buy tahini in Japan?
yes! in any supermarket!
Japanese name is 練りゴマ/nerigoma 🙏
