I remember building these planes back in the 60’s what a rush. They are super hard to hold onto at that speed. I tore my shoulder up with my super O S 60 race engine. Don’t underestimate the power or skill that this takes.
I did a calculation for 110 MPH, energy increases by square of speed, so pull at 200 MPH is probably a great deal more than what I came up with. Pole shown looks to have a U shape rotating support for hand and still elevator needs continuous precision control or plane can smash into pavement: 70 foot line length limit 100 to 110 MPH control line jet trainer ( Learn control line flying then learn with something of similar performance, 1946 pulsejet is not replaceable, or repairable) 70 foot radius line length limit regulation Pi Apx 3.14 = Circumference / Diameter (2*70)*3.14 = 439.6 Foot Circumference 1 mile = 5280 feet 1 hour = 60*60 seconds = 3600 1 MPH = 5280 /3600 = 1.4666 Ft./Sec. 110*1.4666 = 161.326 Feet per Second 439.6/161.326 = 2.72491 Seconds per lap 60/2.72491= 22 RPM pilot turning. From Omnicalculator inputs from above and a 3 Lb total plane weight I get 35 pounds of pull on the control lines. The force is probably directly proportional to plane weight, 6 Lb model would be 70 pounds pull. 2 Lb model would pull 24 pounds 3 pounds is a wild guess that is more likely low than high. Trim tab on port tail fin may reduce control line force experienced by pilot.

70 foot radius line length limit regulation
Pi Apx 3.14 = Circumference / Diameter
(2*70)*3.14 = 439.6 Foot Circumference
1 mile = 5280 feet
1 hour = 60*60 seconds = 3600
1 MPH = 5280 /3600 = 1.4666 Ft./Sec.
110*1.4666 = 161.326 Feet per Second
439.6/161.326 = 2.72491 Seconds per lap
60/2.72491= 22 RPM pilot turning.

From a distance the pilot looks like a big William Shatner.
He went longer than I could ever do! Hope he was okay.
near 300 km/h is really difficult to keep control the c/l plane
Got to dizzy and lost his balance.

I’d have to puke going around in circles like that.
I’m sorry but the fact that the plane doesn’t show up in the video makes this hilarious. 🤣
But sorry for your loss.
That motor came onto the pipe like a tether car. Impressive.
They were using tuned pipes on FAI Speed/F2A planes long before they were used on tether cars, 1966 FAI WC, Bill Wisniewski.
Amazing skill

oh wow!! liked and subscribed!
You forgot to put on your dancing shoes
Don't drink and fly
That’s fast
Sadly he was not fast enough to keep up with the model. He should have stopped as soon as he realised he was too slow.
Very true Neil. The same could be said about some F2C pilots once they see that there is trouble in the centre
Yeah Doc, thats what I was thinking , as soon as it gets 1/4 lap ahead get out of the pylon
His leg cramped on 6th lap

vodka+Rc Planes= disaster
There is not Vodka, there is not RC
I think he just died for my sins.
Big stomach made a crash!
