You've really got to hand it to Jim Parsons for memorizing and delivering twelve seasons worth of impressively intricate, often technical dialog. He truly did an outstanding job portraying the character of Dr. Sheldon Cooper.
He was born to play this role ❤️
my guess is that in real life he's even more of a techno-nerd than they show here
@@touristguy87 no he is not in an intrerview he said he didn’t get most of the ligns he was memorizing ! He is also gay btw

For the record, I think any discussion on the logic of time travel should be legally considered a form of psychological torture. That is all.
Yeah the way the director explains it makes no sense anyways. So the fans ruled it as a paradox and just let it go.
And don't get me started on Kang.
Ooh... I love having time travel conversations... But when I start I end up alone in the room..

As an Native English speaker I still don’t understand the English language, yet i am the go-to person for all my friends for spelling and punctuation 😂
Lol it hurts my brain also
Dude even fluent English speakers, native or not, would have a hard time understanding all of that.
I feel you. I couldn't exactly wrap my head around this whole grammar thing and English is only my second language.
Time travel should be tense free. You've already broken the continuum, so it just makes sense for grammar to follow.
No. grammar, based on language, can not be disregarded for the sake of simplicity as there would be no way to accurately explain what has have had happened. (or something)
@@firstlast-fr1le uh huh, and how well did you follow the first explanation visavi when they started being "accurate"

@@ZEROTOHERO0100 To get confused one needs to put some efforts. He simply doesn't care here. I can relate his situation. 😅
It’s actually his first language
@@xinniether-pooh989 You may be right about Kunal but probably not about Raj. Remember Raj grew up in India where English takes the second seat and is used mostly for the 'purpose' , specially in the field of Science.
He 'forboded' himself to think this hard probably😂
There's just too much going on in this scene.. I've has have had it..

Actually it should be "I've had had have it" i think

😹😹😹😹😹😹
As howard said.....what?
who else thinks Raj is the smartest person in this scene?
The show always indicates that sheldon is the smartest one, raj is a bit behind, then leonard and howard.
@@virtus2936 what you're saying is only Sheldon's view. he only recognizes Raj partly because Raj was once the only one not engaged in a relationship (this is all before Sheldon let's himself into one). Sheldon always thought relationship is a drag for meaningful work or thoughts.
@@ScrewTikTok when they collaborate, raj is able to point out sheldon's fault in his math. Sheldon then had to appologize to raj and invited raj to "work with him". I dont recall leonard and howard did something similar
@@virtus2936 LOL true! Leonard did provide a better solution at the north pole where Sheldon said he had not thought of it. and although Sheldon condescends him because he doesnt have a PhD, when Howard took Sheldon's class Howard have demonstrated his skills. I did remember this time when Sheldon complimented Howard on the driving simulator on how incredibly detailed it was.
@@ScrewTikTok yeah, when it comes to creativity and idea, Leonard really the best one. In terms of math and logic, I still think the mentioned order stays true. Howard is good at his job, doesnt mean he is smarter than the others

I love how the two physicists are so much more comfortable with the grammar thing, and Howard the engineer is going nuts XD

Writers deserve the huge credits 👏 💯
Wonder how many people realize, both Leonard and Sheldon actually use the correct tenses on the second try. Good job to the script writers.
That is some amazingly well written dialogue. TBBT is an incredibly well written show.
I think the other reason why the future was never altered is because the time paradox already was altered when Marty stopped Biff from ever using the almanac for his first bet
Is "was" right?

For what? To make things more complicated than it is ?
these are the dialogues that made me love this show
I stand in awe in how these guys can remember their lines !!!!!
Pretty much why time travel wil never work. No one can figure out the tenses. Even with Latin.
Well not the grandfather Paradox one.
The alternate universe one works. But people don't like using that one because it's not as fun.
For those who don't know. The grandfather paradox or( GFP for short) Is when someone goes back in time and changes the timeline which could or has change the same point in the future of which you originally left. Therefore causing a paradox of you repeating the same thing over and over again of you never leaving and then leaving to the past.
Example of this would be going in time and killing your grandfather before your Dad or Mom was born. Therefore stopping you being born in that timeline which would than stop you from ever going back in time in the first place. Which stop that action from occurring. Which will make you do it again and well the whole thing starts all over again.
The alternate universe timeline or (AUT) for short fixes this problem. When you go back in time. Instead going back to your Universe timeline. You instead go to a exact copy Universe timeline. The timeline you are from is A timeline. While the new one is B timeline a exact copy of A timeline but not A. If you change the past of B timeline. It would not affect the timeline you are from (the A timeline) because that is from another Universe timeline. It would only affect B timeline and B's future.
Best example of fiction for this would be Dragon Ball Z Android Saga with the Trunks character.
For example you from A timeline Universe goes back in time into exact copy which is B timeline universe. There you kill that version of your grandfather. This will stop the B timeline version of you from ever being born. But not you because your grandfather in A timeline universe is still living.
How do you even come up with this much amount of genius
So much for all these details when Sheldon's marker isn't writing at all....
It is writing einstein
These were some golden writers
I love how Sheldon was proud of linerd
The script writers for this show are amazing!
I loved this show from the first season to the last 12th seson's episode.
“He’s right”😂
Somehow I get the feeling that the audience are clapping because they were impress that they say out all the lines which is very very amazing 🤣
Dr. Sheldon Cooper will go down in history as one of the greatest TV characters ever, along with Barney Fife, Fred G. Sanford, ___________...
Super Chicken ..Eddie Haskell, Ed Norton, Niles Frasier, Rollo!
There’s a bit in one of the Hitchhiker’s Guide books talking about inventing new tenses to talk about time travel
Seems to me that Back to the Future functions with a "Ripple Effect" where time traveling allows you to race around the ripples and exist before the ripples of a change catches up to your current present, allowing changes to be made before erasure begins.
Aka, the sort of time travel where the consequences of time travel only matter when it's relevant to the plot.
@@Xynth22 Definitely. From a logic standpoint, Howard's argument makes sense. But that would mean that Marty and Doc would be stuck in the original 2015 without a time machine since Biff would return to an alternate 2015 with the time machine. Writers go with what Leonard is saying thus providing the characters a chance to re alter the timeline in 1955.
This feels like German class in school all over again.
FWIW, the timeline in Back to the Future doesn't change instantaneously, it's pretty consistently something that gradually transitions based on changes made, at least as it relates to the people travelling through time. Biff's inability to deliver the almanac to himself if Marty never time travels IS a paradox, but they resolve it before the timeline is re-set.
The most impressive shit about this scene is if they did it in one take
The laugh traks kills me every time.
English is only my second language. I think I just had a stroke hearing this
That acting right there is *almost* worth a million dollars per episode, per character!!!!!! 😂🤣😎👍
1:27 the marker didn't work so they cut the scene and put the x with a working marker.

Good eye!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttt
Way better than starting over from the beginning.
dang, you're right!!! nice eye!
“that’s my boy.”
Best explanation of time travel ever 😂
This scene describes me after finishing Dark 🤣🤣
Can I just say been fan of Doctor Who, explains time travel so easy without getting a headache.
The main issue here is that the moment Biff hands his younger self the almanac, that instantly initiates a new timeline, one that both Biffs are on, but not Marty and Doc as they're now on a completely different timeline. The moment Biff hands his youngerself the almanac, that would have caused older Biff to vanish that instant since he's now on a completely different timeline.
There is actually a deleted scene where biff vanishes when he gets back to the future... But the directors explained that was because the new timeline caught up with him and they theorized that in the 90s Lorraine finally had enough and killed biff, so he was dead by 2015.
Further, doc and Marty are already out of time and it seems clear that time travelers memories don't get affected. We also don't see the house anymore. They grabbed Jennifer but for all we know if doc and Marty had turned around and gone back, the house and people living there would be different. That would support the buff vanishing scene as well. Time was catching up.
Just like the newspaper changing. It didnt change until minutes after Marty had the hoverboard scene. He already dried off, bought the almanac and met up with doc before we see the paper finally change just as Griff yells, I was framed.
Also in part 3 there's just a picture of an empty gravestone and doc explains that the picture would represent what will happen if the events of today continue into tomorrow.
So I think it depends on time being fluid and every moment playing out through time. When something absolute happens, like the tombstone getting destroyed, then it disappears from the photograph almost instantly. But the photograph of an empty field remained...
Also Marty burning the almanac had almost instant results... But someone getting the almanac using it, that's free will... I would bet something like that would take time to play out, it may even continue rippling changes for a while that we just can't see...
One of the funniest things ever in this awesome show!😂😂😂
I'm an English teacher and I just showed this clip to my students and you can tell they almost had a burnout xD I mean (had will have had a burnout)
Dude, me too.. I have will have had shown to my students and they had will have had gone crazy hahaahahahha
Kindly could you please breakdown this ‘had will have had’
Honestly I would just nod and prevent myself the brain cramp.
Kunal was so lucky to not have many lines in this scene!
My absolute favorite bit when talking about time travel
1:15 always cracks me up
Great banter
This IS why this show WAS and always WOULD be brilliant in future
Haha, I love Sheldon! Young Sheldon would give him a run for his money, but Sheldon going back in time to meet his younger self would never have had happened :D
Actually "if you think in 4 dimensions" as marty and doc recovered the almanac it was like if nothing has happened. That could explain why biff returned to the same future he left.
As a foreigner, this scene crashed my mind
The show goes more from the groups helplessness with women and their nerdiness to a relationship and family show so it’s nice to see the group go back to their nerdy routes later on in the show for moments like these
I love that the comments here discussed/ is discussing the grammar and not trying to figure out if Howard's theory that the future would be altered is actually correct
can you imagine how many takes it took to get that and so many other exchanges inch perfect with the live audience lol
I followed this to a point

I rate Jim Parsons for his deliveries in TBBT as highly as I rated Nigel Hawthorn for his brilliant monologues as Sir Humphry Appleby in Yes, Minister (UK TV). If you haven't seen any of that series, it's well worth a watch, especially for the episode called The Death List.
So I know this is just a sitcom and all, but my inner grammar nerd is so delighted by this.

Raj was like king, hes right😂😂😂 and case closed
The mere fact that Raj said he’s right just shows a litttle preview that Raj is the second smartest on the show.
I actually think Howard's the second smartest on the show he just didn't get a PHD cause he didn't need one for his chosen career, and would rather be a hands-on practical professional rather than deal with theoretical things that might never be proven in his lifetime.
This scene remains undefeated
One of the best TBBT scenes
I love how both Jim and Johnny manage to get through this scene with absolutely straight faces. Wonder how many takes it took to get 'have had has" right
First makes total sense, second during time travel the tense should stay as of the point in time they are talking about

I don't know why but "That's my boy" was hilarious
wish they did a time travel discussion with Avengers End Game.. cuz i did not understand that at all..
Yea that was cheap bullshit on a lot of it.
Scott J It’s really quite simple. The writers had to come up with a way of bringing everybody back so they could win.
Iliya Moradi Birgani what I don’t get is how them going in the past didn’t affect their future/present. For example, this is a big one - them going to the past caused Loki to steal the tesseract and disappear. Wouldn’t that affect the future?
They explained in the movie that they were going into a different reality, so their future wouldn’t be affected. Another reality would, but not them directly.
Oh Endgame time travel was super simple.
If you change the past it doesn't impact your future, rather it splits off to an alternate timeline that is seperate from the timeline you lived through.
My favorite tv show ever and now that it's no longer on tv i have nothing to watch
Buy all the seasons like I did. 😢
