- You can imagine my delight at capturing this video portrait of a singing male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. What's more, he's a very pretty specimen! The male's lilting musical carol has been compared to the song of "a Robin who took singing lessons."

This is the first year we've had them at our feeders. They've been here for a few days now. Very cute! They just sit on the feeders eating sunflower seeds! Males & females.
As a girl in Ohio decades ago, I saw and heard one of these just once and they were already rare. Now that I hear this song, it brings back a clear memory. I live in France now and am considered weird cuz I want to know what all the new plants, birds, trees, animals, bugs and all of nature are! Lovely! I miss robins and fireflies so much! Funny what you miss when you immigrate!
Cam they possibly not have fireflies?
That is sad
I would miss them too
Nothing weird about loving nature 😉
Grosbeaks returned in my area of Ohio 2021 - and on...
In fact- have slowed down on birdseed in August 2022, and am watching one right now at the bird feeder. He plants himself there and delicately removes an occasional sunflower seed. Grosbeaks have extremely good manners in spite of the “gross” portion of their name.
Their songs are a delight!
I’ve always lived in the PNW, I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing fireflies
People in France are either extremely accepting or xenophobic it seems...unless you have a lot of charm
A male just landed underneath my bird feeder - white mountains of NH - May/2016. For a brief instance, the male cardinal popped into the scene, along side the Grosbeak male. What a treat!
Wow, I've been hearing these in western New York state for a couple of days and today, for the first time, saw 3 pairs at my feeders. Before this year, I've never had them here.
Lovely video, by the way!!!
Words really can't describe how GOOD this makes me feel. Thank you to The Music Of Nature for putting up these high quality videos. I would LOVE to purchase a DVD with an assortment of these videos.
I agree this collection is amazing! I'd buy that DVD!
Just saw one on my hot pepper bird feeder. Never seen them in my backyard before.
what a delightful bird...he seems to be looking for someone as he sings...
K

I OWN THE UNIVERSE MY PERSONAL PROPERTY! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WORLD THAT I CANNOT CORRECT!

Heaven spirit
Sure is a gorgeous bird. They showed up first week of may here in Pa. 7 males in feeder. They’ll stick around till 3rd week of august, He knows he’s handsome. Stunning colors.
Patterns of exquisite beauty only God can create. I thank Him for eyes to behold and ears to tune into a small fraction of His handiwork.
I'm thankful, too! 😀
Amen 🙏 ❤
Just saw one now for the first time. He's sitting and enjoying himself on our bird feeder
My Grosbeaks have finally arrived! Last year wasnt a good year for them here in northern Tennessee. It was too cold. But I have had one male for the past few days….and today….3 more males and a female showed up! I am so excited to see them again!
We just got a pair at our feeders as well! This is our first spring at our new home in middle Tennessee so we are Happy to see these beautiful birds!
@@notomatoesbbq That is awesome! They are so beautiful! Imagine my surprise when I happened to see 7 male Grosbeaks on my feeder at one time just this past week! First time ever!!! The females have shown up too. I have been taking pictures as fast as I can in order to catch as many as possible! Of course they are still battling the blackbirds, but they are holding their own! Now the beautiful Goldfinches have arrived, and they are more brilliant than ever! Along with the Indigo Buntings! This is a banner year for birds!!! Already had one house of bluebirds fledge too! I have been busy!!! Lol
@@lyndalepkowski6552 Wow! Lucky you! I hope we see more as it warms up here.

Saw the first one of the year a few days ago (it was actually the day my grandma passed😢 April, 30th 2020). These guys are a regular at our feeders every year in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They are both me and my dads favorite because of their song. Beautiful birds.
❤️❤️🙏
they are on a 3000 mile journey and appreciate y'all for sure
I’m 63 and have lived all my life in South Mississippi and have never seen this beautiful bird until this morning! What a splendid and awesome blessing to see!🎉❤🎉❤🎉
I'm in north MS (Grenada County) and we have had these beautiful birds at our feeders for more than 30 years, every April and May, and sometimes we see a few in the Fall. Had more this year than ever, as many as 20. We are truly blessed to see them during their migration.
they moved to michigan
One beauty of a bird i love grosbeaks
56 from upper new york state and I for the first time as well found one at my feeder. Certainly hope they come back.
Checking in for a first-timer. I've had feeders in my backyard (Saskatchewan) for 3 years and never actually saw one until 2 males discovered my feeders and bird bath the other day. Had to find out what these birds were!
I have recently had 3 show up at my feeders. They are so pretty and I love their songs.
Had one on Sunday mother's day here in chicago... he brought 2 friends the next day Monday... today Tuesday and all 3 were back again! Amazing birds
The first time I saw one of these was 3 days before my Mom died, right outside her window. I was taken but the beauty! RIP, Moma
I can listen all day to birds singing! Thank you for posting this.
I just had the experience of seeing one of these in eastern Massachusetts at my feeder just two feet away. They are truly stunning birds and it’s thrilling to see them up close and personal. Thanks for posting!
I have a mini-sanctuary with numerous feeders and feed, and all-of-sudden this new bird shows up eating the safflower seed. Fortunately, I got it on my camcorder and later discovered it was a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. What a cool-looking bird.
Arlington Heights,
IL: It's a rare sight at my feeders too. Just saw a male today - for the second or third time in my life.
Such a pretty song they have. 🕊️🌿🥰
Best sounding bird imo. Reminds me of a good day from sunrise to sunset.
I see these beautiful birds daily at my feeder in Massachusetts. They like the black oil sunflower seeds. 😃
Me too. A favorite visitor. We mixed safflower seed with the sunflower
Same here down in CT!
Yea, anyone feeding seed mix with millet and stuff is a dope: 99% of birds won't touch millet, they just spit it on the ground and go for the sunflower seeds.
@@aquanova16 I agree it definitely likes the safflower too.
Their song is so nice. And today we just got some Baltimore orioles singing. What a pleasant time of year!
Saw one of these for the first time today in central Louisiana. Stunning bird and beautiful song.

I just saw the first one at my feeder just now. A migrator here in Virginia. Last night about 200 million birds migrated and about 14k flew over my town. He must have stopped to fuel up! ❤️
Just seen one on our feeder here in Picayune MS. First time I have seen one. Beautiful bird.
I have them every year. They cover my feeders and I love them! This year I had 5 pair! They are so beautiful. They usually arrive at our house at the end of April to the first of May, stay for 3-4 weeks until it starts getting warm. Yesterday was May 14 and I think they have left. I haven’t seen any today. I live in northern Tennessee. They are such beautiful birds! I always look forward to having them visit. It is awfully quiet now without them! ☹️
what do you feed them?
We just had one of these on a our porch feeder yesterday. The female came along and joined him and I wondered how long I'd been seeing the female not knowing what she really was! Thank you for making this beautiful video! Video and sound are amazing!
In the 8 years we have lived in TN this is the first spring that I have ever seen them at our feeder. Now we have 7 of them so far. Beautiful birds.
Same here! I've lived in TN for over 25 years and this is also the first time I've seen these gorgeous birds at any of my feeders. I have 2 males and probably some females but they are harder to identify. I've also been getting blue finches. Never had those before either, just the yellow ones.
I live in Middle Tennessee and this is the first time I've seen them at our feeder as well. They are absolutely beautiful.
Where in TN? I was on Lookout Mountain, GA (above Rising Fawn, GA) and saw both a male and female for the first time.
I've seen them at least three times in the past 2 years here in Tn they are so beautiful to watch they love hanging around the feeder before the woodpecker and the blue jay family come
I have a a male and female since 2 weeks now in my area of eastern canada. Beautiful birds....so blessed.
I live in Iowa & I saw a male for the 1st time this afternoon. I was dying to find out what kind of bird it was. I was so glad it stayed at the feeder as long as it did... gave me a chance to admire it for a bit.. & he came back to eat more only 10 minutes later!
We have them at our feeder this morning in FLORIDA, first time ever!
Just got one at my feeder in upstate ny today. First bird at my new feeder!
We have one showing up here in Berryville, Virginia. My mother has been feeding birds for decades. Never seen anything like it. Their numbers must be increasing. That's good to know. The coloring threw me off. Simular to woodpeckers, but the beak just didn't match. Nature is full of surprises.
Me too.
Just beautiful! I have two males who visit my backyard feeders every day. I love these birds.
Beautiful birds! We have them at our feeders in northern Alabama.
Saw the FIRST ONE EVER in my feeder in western Michigan last week

this second week of may is when a group of 4 always show up on my feeder near cleveland, for 2 or 3 days. where are they headed?!
For some reason, I only get a visit from these beautiful birds once a year. They must pass through my area on their way elsewhere. I've been able to get still shots, but your video was fantastic, as I've never heard them sing (and known it). They just eat at the feeders! THANK YOU for sharing this video. Excellent!
The Count Dracula looking bird! Love em
Great video footage!
Sounds very similar to American Robins in the morning. Saw my first one of these on our feeder last week in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
Beautiful,and very relaxing.
Had one here in Western Ohio a few years back. Really hope to see and hear this Natural Beauty again. 🤞
Lovely birds. Used to come sing in our back yard.
Saw 2 of these at my feeders today. Gorgeous and sound so beautiful.
Mr. Elliott, I really like that song description :- )
I would like to hear your description of the Carolina Wrens song :-)
Just had one on my back porch railing today, twice. Hope he returns tomorrow. What a thrill!

Beautiful bird! It really does sound like a Robin. Thanks for the vid.
Jusst had one at my feeder hung around for a few minutes. Beautiful
Saw one today for the first time in Saint Augustine, Fl.
Beautiful! I photographed a couple of these at my feeder today on their way North. You are so lucky to have caught him in motion and singing!!!
Wonderful video, thanks for sharing. He is a beauty!
The song is easily mistaken for the American Robin.
I have a pair and young ones visiting my feeders quite frequently, I take still shots but have never seen the maie singing but have heard his song in the nearby woods. I'm so glad now I can relate the pictures and the song. The female is not as fancy as the male, brown n color with nice high lights.
we had two male and one female at our simple bird feeder this morning in Rochester, NY. What a treat! First time we've seen this breed in our area.
I'm from Rochester. I have heard them now and then but never saw one.
I love birds, have always loved songbirds especially. Rosebreasted grosbeaks are beauties; I have to wonder why they're not a state bird?
Thank you that was so cool !!
Looks like that's a heart on his chest🙂
Thank you so much! I've spotted these birds before, but I always have trouble identifying birdsong. Tonight I listened to the song of a bird I could not see, and your video helped me nail it. Again, thank you.
I have 2 of these guys in my yard. Spotted them last week at the feeders. Never seen them before. Had to look them up. Rose breasted Grosbeak. I've heard them and now I see them. Lovely birds.

Beautiful bird. I saw one for the first time today having a meal of striped sunflower seeds at my feeder!
"Has been likened" ??? By an anthropomorphist, certainly...
Comparing a bird to another bird is anthropomorphic?
