Awesome explanation, as always 😀. I like that your explanations are not too short and you go over everything. There are no good Explanation-Videos in german, so in the end I end up at your channel to watch it ^^. Best wishes from Germany, and thanks for the good work!
Woot woot! I just pre-ordered this after watching Paul's playthrough yesterday and am really excited for this full teach and playthrough from you all. Thanks for putting this out there guys!
1:13:24 Not sure if you covered this later in the video, but to place a card you can always assume a higher cost requirement. For example, you can spend all the active costs cumulative up to stage 4 to place the card on stage 2 to gain both stage 3 and 4 bonuses.
Around 2:35:.. when Edward asked if this is what we expected, I didn't know what to expect. The box cover didn't look all that inspiring. Civ games can be cool. Feld games are interesting and fun imo. So far to this point I don't know what the progression or endgame route looks like, obviously get points, but how many paths are there, what does tucking a card or migrating mean, or turning dice into more eyes do for you, why do you tuck a card or place a goal in x level of your player board; probably it all means it allows you to do a thing or score, but putting it all together so far is still a fog for me. It's very interesting and I defintely want to play it.
Turns out, it is neat, but I can't yet figure how neat it will be, of course I'll need to play it myself. It looked like if you didn't feed your people in the last round, if they were standing they would lay down, and that didn't matter for scoring people in the end correct? I mention this because you could save all the food and then have more diamonds, of course that would matter if they were 2 or 3 points per instead of 1. Scores will flucuate based on which scoring things have the most potential and how lukcy you are with die rolls and certain tiles showing up that you can automatically slot, and those location circle tiles flipping and the points they score per round.
Great teach! I'm watching the rules teach, and you said that for the Trade action you can do one sell, either for money or for points, for each sell action. But according to the rulebook, one sell action allows you to sell one thing for money and sell one thing for points within the same action. I'm not sure if you correct that later but it jumped out at me as I was watching.
Excellent teach Edward - I see you picked up on the cumulative requirement p24. Also if a farm is destroyed by a volcano it returns to the supply p21.,
Looks like a neat game, gives me some Bora Bora (goal tiles) and Castles of Burgundy (dice usage) vibes. As far as being a civ game/theme that part feels pretty loose.
While yes it IS expensive, that’s not the real limitation. The main limitation is the fact that the overwhelming majority of people who watch, THEIR internet speeds can not handle 4k, and thus, due to the bit rate it would have to be sent out in, would degrade the quality worse than 1080p. So unfortunately, it’s not in the near future plans.
@@pasta0328 I don't see it happening now. Perhaps a settings problem? I confess, I don't know much about how UA-cam works. HC is about the only thing on the platform that I regularly watch.
"We'll get to that" is perfectly appropriate if you're not going to explain it now but want to make it clear you will explain it later. This structure of teaching is good. Going into a full detail aside every time you use a technical term would be a learning nightmare.

Note re: card requirements…they ARE cumulative…I said the opposite during the teach. Apologies
No need for apologies ^^. While watching I suspected this, because as you explained the black/empty slots would make no sense then ;-)
I love your teach and playthrough! You do a great job every time and are always entertaining to watch! Keep it up! Just a big fan!
Game starts at ca. 1:50:00
Thanks for the excellent teach! This really helped me explain the game to my family. Very smooth.
You're very welcome!

Probably the best game tutorial I have seen in a long time!

Excellent video btw - by far this is the best How to Play tutorial on Civolution
90 minute teach! Glad I already knew the rules and was able to skip ahead. Wowza

Wow! What a cool game.
This is going on the buy list. I wonder when it will get to Australia.
Feld keeps delivering it seems. 🤤
Edward, thank you so much for this play through. Excellent as always. Can you tell me what size card sleeves it takes?
I’m not sure but I’ll have that info on the solo stream Friday!
"This is a Feld, ergo you get points for spelling your name correctly." 😄
Thanks guys
In case you have 2 tribes next to the 1 Wolves tile (even in different lands), you pay 1 food only.
Good catch!
Dice tray would be handy with this one🙂

What size is your play surface? Will this even fit my 3x5 table?
It totally will. It only looks the way it is because I have low ceilings. My table is 42”x 72” and have PLENTY of space. I promise it will fit
I don't want to sound like a jerk and I know it costs a lot of money, but I really wish the top tutorial channels would upgrade to at least 4k.

A five hour stream with a commercial every five minutes. Brutal.
if you use duckduckgo browser no commercials ever
?

25 minutes in and I haven't seen a commercial.
Not for me
Stop saying “we’ll get into that” and get into it.
Also… “etc etc”. And “Boom done” are meaningless.
Anything else I should stop doing or did you get them all?

Perfect balance of taking overviews before deep diving into specifics.
