My experience in Lithuania - came to work at the US Embassy in 2014, met a LT. Married - been here since. I work overseas and return here to visit between gigs. Its safe and people have good moral values. Its the best kept secret. Full of culture, tradition and calmness. Real earthy 🌍 feel. Reminds me of the USA back when grandma’s had gardens and country fairs to go to. Ultra safe to raise kids. Lots of entrepreneurial spirit. Super fast internet - 20 Euro a month for full phone service.
my husband is Lithuanian and we always think about moving there but the cost of living is rising ... Beautiful country though. I hope it stays traditional and doesn't become too globalised.
I think often times smaller countries have a better quality of life, at least in some ways.
I have a few questions about Lithuania as regards a career in health for an international student like myself. Please help out
@@geekiedj you must speak Lithuanian to work in health services.
Yeap, that's how it goes here. In the beginning you don't know that this country exist and then you don't want to leave...Friendly people, beautiful women, great food, cheep to live here, four seasons country-what else do you want? 😉💁🌻😍
Lithuania 🇱🇹 is one of the underrated countries when it comes to traveling. It’s a very beautiful country. Thank you #WoltersWorld for introducing Lithuania to people 🖤
Glad I can. I loved living there
That’s really great of you to reply to my comment. I am glad too 😊☺️
Travel UA-camr BD expat - I live in Lithuania too - I am on Totoriu... we should meet! My husband is Lithuanian. I follow you - but never knew you lived here. Crazy.

Hi Diana, I'd like to ask some pertinent questions about Lithuania especially for international students if you don't mind... thank you.
You should be ashamed. Lithuania is a deeply racist country. No diversity.
@@chiomaakindeleokoye4914 keep your ugly mouth shut..If Lithuanians is racist then you and people like you are the Fascists..
Learning about your Country. Someday may visit.
I was born in Vilnius!! I've lived in the UK my entire life but can never recommend Lithuania enough. It's definitely one of the most underrated countries in the EU! It's always nice to introduce people to it when they don't know much about it and see them fall in love with it.
lithuania is even more racist than the uk, where i also sadly live. literally no diversity in lithuania
@@chiomaakindeleokoye4914 so no diversity = racist. Get your ignorant views out of here.
@@chiomaakindeleokoye4914 good lmao why should it be diverse? It used to be diverse in the times of Grand duchy of Lithuania with Lithuanians, Poles, Jews, Ruthenians, Karaim tatars etc. But why the hell should you see asians, latinos and blacks in Lithuania???
@@chiomaakindeleokoye4914 Lithuania for lithuanians
I studied abroad in Kaunas last year for 5 months. A special place in my heart!
That's awesome
Did you study at KTU? That's anazing!

I say, Wolters World. He's like, ok? I say, you know Walters World, we watched a few videos of them in Ireland. He said, Oh The Big Guy Who's Really Excited to be Traveling Around the World. Hahaha I'm like, Exactly lol
Awesome! That makes me smile.
My great great grandmother came from Vilnius, Lithuania. It is definitely on my bucket list to get there.

Thank you both for all the amazing travel advice!
I've not been back to Lithuania for about 10 years need to get back there forget how good it was .
Some history about Lithuania. For centuries, the southeastern shores of the Baltic Sea were inhabited by various Baltic tribes. In the 1230s, the Lithuanian lands were united by Mindaugas and the Kingdom of Lithuania was created on 6 July 1253. During the 14th century, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was the largest country in Europe; present - day Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine.First of all, Lithuanian is a very old language. It is related to Sanskrit (a classical language of India) Latin and Ancient Greek. It is the oldest surviving Indo-European language, which has preserved the most phonetical and morphological aspects of the proto-language which many other European languages come from. It is very important to the field of Indo-European language studies, which carries out research on the origin, development, similarities and differences of Indo-European languages. Scientists of different nationalities in this field use Lithuanian as their language of communication at their conferences!
Do you know why specifically Lithuanian is preferred compared to Latvian in Indo-European languages studies? Or I've got wrong impression and it is not?
@@Shadow850031 Latvian has been modernised greatly relative to Lithuanian, which has kept pretty much all its old forms.
I always see people going to Paris and that but I always recommend Lithuanian because of the people
The people?? Lol. lithuania is even more racist than scotland and that's saying something!!!
@@chiomaakindeleokoye4914 the Fascists opened ugly gob
Most homophobic people are the older generation in my experience, and the mix of homofobic and racist are the gopnik kids, that are from like 12 to 16 yo.
We need to go back soon.
Beautifull country.I was drove the truck and I couldnt get into bigger towns with the truck(UNFORTUNATELY :-) The food is a lot delicious and people are kind.Im from Serbia.
Thank you for a wonderful video about my birth country! It's beautiful 😊. There is one amazing place there called "Plateliai". You can see 7 lakes around 1 big hill. All the rivers that connect to each lake are so beautiful. You can always take the canoe and your local guided tours around the lakes and rivers. It's unforgettable. Fresh water is so clean and the fish is so tasty here 😎👌😂 woodpeckers & cuckoos, foraging berries and mushrooms is my favourite in the woods..Beautiful!
Thank you Lina. I loved living there. So many great friends
@@woltersworld I am glad you shared this with the world, I wish people knew more about it 🧘♀️🤸♀️🚵♀️ I love Lithuania, after all, it's my genetic call I suppose. Woods, witches, pagan lifestyle haha. Thank you.
I think you're talking about 7 lakes in Aukštaitija national park, near Palūšė. Plateliai lake is in Samogitia/Žemaitija and, as far as I know, there are no 7 lakes in one place there.
The best American channel about Lithuania hands down.
One of the coolest countries I've ever been to! One of my favorite places there is Dzūkija National Park, it's so beautiful! 😍😍😍
Cool
Dzūkija is the best region on earth.
I spent the first 20 seconds of the video trying to picture where Lithuania was, and was just about to pause the video and go look it up, but then you read my mind and explained it. Thanks for looking out for those of us who are geographically challenged
Yeah. I got that question often so thought best to show it 😃
Beautiful country, wonderful people! One of my favorite European destinations.
Fantastic Video.

"Lithuania" is in my Top 3 of my favourite countries EVER.
I had such a lovely time.
I went for my 25th Birthday in February (2015)
It was -19 and Lots of Snow 🤗🤗🤗
Yes. Lots of snow 🙂
2015 was probably the last year with proper winter, in LTU... Sadly, it's getting warmer. :/
@@Brazauskas123 Yeah, Its such a shame happening all over the world with Global warming Climate change.
I agree it's sadly getting warmer 😭 everywhere.
Unfortunately the last winter barely could be called winter by our (lithuanians) standards. Air temperature rarely went below zero and snow if it even appeared stayed no longer than a day or two.
@@ZhylvisLT Its such a shame, 😭 ... I don't like the Warm and Sun. And Love the Cold, Wind, Rain and Snow 🤣🤗 ...
I visited Lithuania on a choir tour of the Baltics in the summer of 2017. It was not a place I had ever thought about going, but I absolutely loved it! We sang a concert in the Church of St. Catherine. Was that it toward the end of the video? Beautiful country! I would go back there in a heartbeat.
I'm in Lituhania and it's great.

@solidmoni I have family there. Honestly I would recommend. Great place.
Good for you, it's human nature to be curious, especially about another country. Quit using this shitty comment format.
I travelled the Baltics last summer. I'd do it again in a heartbeat... Maybe add Finland to my journey.
I went to Lithuania and loved it, and the most welcome surprise was how good the food was.
Been there. Food is simple yet, delicious
Yep
Been to Estonia seven times and Latvia once. I should definitely look into Lithuania!
Visited lithuania a couple of years ago and I loved Vilnius. If you ever visit that city, do not miss visiting Trakai. What a magnificent and dreamy place. I definitely would go back there. The train is the best option to get to Trakai. 100%
LOVED Lithuania! It was fantastic.
I was stopped by police while driving through Lithuania on Polish plates :) Just a rutine check :) They had a nice looking car. At first it looked like an ambulance to me.

Hello Sir, I am very old follower of your channel and we had communication through comment earlier also. I request for your interview about the effect of coronavirus on tourism. We can do this through zoom and it will benefit my students also and your students also
nice video.
Things have changed since I was in Vilnius September 2009. I was at a bar and said; Keep the change. The bartender gave me a look that could kill, and gave me half a dollar back. Back then it was considered rude to tip.
And "people buying you drinks just because you know a few Lithuanian words"(?) It was not like that in 2009. My Lithuanian had already become bad by then, but I was still able to speak whole sentences. (I stopped studying Lithuanian at a Norwegian university in 1996). No free beer -:(
Now, if I can just shed off a few illnesses, I would rally want to go back. It really is a beautiful country with a lot of beautiful people.

@@woltersworld No I haven't, didn't even know you had a second channel. We're all bored, Just social distancing here in Oregon. Waiting for the world to open up for business again. Take care of yourselves.
Hey, man! Maybe you could add something in the corner of the videos, maybe opposite side of the logo, that say when this was filmed? Maybe that would cut down on the "HOW DARE YOU TRAVEL AT A TIME LIKE THIS" comments.
I'd really like to do the 10 day Baltic itinerary you outlined in the past. Seems like a great bang for your buck in regards to getting some culture.
It is a great bang for your buck. And in regard to the "how dare you travel" comments, I thought about that but not really a good way to make it work. O tried it with the pinned comments before and people still post the comments. It's a no win situation
