I remember this one I worked that concert and I was in the end zone of the arena behind elvis I actually see myself in this video. I remember someone stole my camera that night but I had the film in the other pocket. I went down after the show to see if I could find it and the guard took me back stage where elvis was and there were peanut shells on the floor. But it was a great concert, I remember my boss telling me not o let anyone come down and stand. I looked at him and then told him you have got to be kidding . All the ladies heard the limo coming in then I looked up and here come all these women running I was only 17 at the time . I got nervous and held on to the bar and put my legs through it. Elvis got out of the limo looked up at me and held his hands out as if he wanted me to jump down . I smiled said yeah I don't think you would catch me and I laughed he shrugs his shoulders and smiles . Then one of his body guards come up to help me out .
Right on bro. Me and my brother's/friends were members of the Q95 Sunshine club in Indianapolis Indiana and got to hang out back stage with all the rock bands before every concert in Market Square Arena, this was before they tore it down. Being a member of the club you always get first crack at tickets, and back then it was open seating but they small roped off section on the first level that was always reserved for Sunshine club members. $25 per year, what a steal. People weren't smart enough to know how to do it,we knew though.
Moody Blue was on the charts when Elvis died & was playing on the radio. I loved this song & I Loved Elvis with all my heart. When I heard STILL hear this song I get chills & tears..I loved Him so.
Elvis Presley, had a brilliant voice, great personality, extreme good looks, impeccable manners, good morals and principles, kindness n empathy but he was exploited by the greed of man n the system who took all they could get off this humble shy man, Elvis was a one off never to be forgotten 👍
Just fantastic......its so sad Elvis never toured the world i think if Elvis played the Albert hall London it would of brought London to stanstill....Elvis is the number one male voise of all time...
his voice sounds great and the band accompanies him well what I like is the suit with the Aztec calendar it looks impressive greetings to the family of ELVIS PRESLEY the host of the channel and to all ELVIS PRESLEY fans around the world from gdl jalisco Mexico
thank you very much greetings ELVIS PRESLEY the number one of rock and his majestic suit with the Aztec calendar and his unique and incomparable voice to the natural greetings to the host of the channel and to all the fans of ELVIS PRESLEY in the whole world from gdl jalisco mexico
Thank you very much, greetings ELVIS PRESLEY, a humble singer with a unique voice and the most beautiful thing about him was attentive, he gave autographs and took pictures with his fans because he was born humble and his mother gave him good advice and one of them was to be attentive and altruistic that is helping others greetings to the channel's host and to all the fans around the world
My mother absolutely LOVED this song (I do too) Elvis could sing the back of a Betty Crocker Cake box and it would be THE BEST EVER. Sadly he died on my moms birthday, I thought it was the end of the world, (it was for me and I was only 8) and I can honestly say a piece of my heart died with him that day!
I was 9, Lisa Marie and I born 2 days apart 1968. My Mom and I would listen to his gospel music every morning while I waited on the school bus. I had funeral home play Elvis gospel at her wake.
You're right. We (my family) just got back from Graceland last week, and my 13 & 9 yr old sons had a blast. But they hear daddy playing Elvis all the time...lol.......
This is actually an amazing performance of this song! Sounds just like the album version which is difficult to pull off considering he had such a wide variety of music spanning his career.
I heard Moody Blue by another group a long long time ago & then thought it was the sexiest song ever & now Elvis has brought it back to life & he does the best version ever!!!!
I will forever while I'm still conscious always listen to the king not only does he have a good voice but he was a wonderful human being a woman stranded on the side of the road with a baby in the back seat having car problems... car pulls up beside her gives her an address to go get a car from a dealership across the road she gets there the car is paid for she wants to meet the person that helped her the garage Attendant told her you'll never see him... that was Elvis, Didn't even know the woman and he still took time out of his day to help someone... Not only is that a good heart, but also a good man.
I was at this concert sitting in the 11 11th row center floor seat. Elvis actually started it twice because he did not like the key it was in the first time. I remember it very well as It had been playing in the radio. I had yet to buy it. But I did as soon as it hit the record store. Since then I have become great friends with an up close and personal friend of Elvis who was working for Elvis. He was also his personal assistant and spent a lot of time with During the concert tours and at home in Graceland . He has some awesome personal stories about Elvis and his generosity that most have never heard. Such great stories
Oh Boy * what a man * what a voice * the greatest king we ever had * ***** We share his memory forever. * Greetings from good old germany and happy new year to everyone!
❤❤❤❤ I just love listening to his music. It brings back a lot of members and I do my work balance to everyone at his songs. An even run I hear this is a little mishaps on his songs and to hear him. Laugh about it just makes me happy. I just miss him so much.
Wow dude what a great share because I always liked this particular song for some reason, and to find out it was played one time live with the ticket stubs to prove. Boom 💥✊🏻
Hi Bruce, just saw your post here, so sorry you missed seeing Elvis in concert, but I did get lucky and saw him live in Feburary of 1977, I meaN here in Columbia SC, he put on am awsome concert!
When I get on a kick, I will listen to a song multiple times, multiple versions where available; with this one I thought I hit a snag --until this video. Given the circumstances and where Elvis was at this point his career and life, I'm happy enough that it was in the key of the recording and even the softer tone is good. Fits in with the song. The band did fine.
The only time Moody Blue was sung live, right? Released Dec 1976 as a single, recorded in Feb 1976 if I'm not mistaken. Way Down, by contrast, was not performed in concert. It was recorded 29 Oct 1976, I believe.
This is pretty cool. My parent's first house was on Hickory Nut Street, not far from the arena. It is still in use, now sponsored by Bojangles. The Checkers play there sometimes when TWC Arena is booked and they still do concerts for lesser known acts and Indy bands. Its still alive and well, that's for sure, I'm very happy that they didn't tear it down like they did the second Charlotte Coliseum. The area around the old Coliseum has gone downhill somewhat in past years, a lot of the buildings, hotels, and shopping centers still look like they did in the 1960's and 1970's. I hope they can keep this 60's charm without having to tear everything down.
+Mark Summey Mark, check out what i wrote about the charlotte show. Do you agree? I was 11 and there with a friend. I remember i wasn't worried and afraid - I'd never let my 11 year old daughter go to a concert today!!!!!!
Great Bruce that is so nice of you, it would be great to hear a song that he did here in Columbia , I have never found one on you tube yet that he did from the concert, how about the song, how great thou art, if he did that one I don't remembe? thanks a million and God bless!
I was at that concert the day before, in Charlotte. Was 11 years old. I was so disappointed when they started on Moody Blue, but couldn't get it right. At the time it seemed to me like Elvis didn't know it, but the band did. He was reading the lyrics, and then decided to not do it. I remember being frustrated because Elvis played with the fans near the stage so much, and seemed to really sing so little. I also remember that $15 for a concert then was unheard of. That was double what rock concerts, for big bands, were charging.
Between previous night and this night there would have been limited rehearsals of the song...and elvis would have been attending. Id love to have heard them...
Thanks so much. I missed that concert because I was in Columbia then, but I saw the others and he signed the portrait I drew of him to the left in 1974. Electrifying and sensitive man!
@Elvis2ndToNoOneElse I missed them both. I begged my dad to take me to Columbia since we live in SC, but Charlotte was closer.........Thanks for your comment.
I know Elvis was mailing it in at this point, but he totally nailed it on this song and should have kept singing it at those 77 concerts along with "For The Heart" !!!
I remember this one I worked that concert and I was in the end zone of the arena behind elvis I actually see myself in this video. Debra: your so lucky.
With all of the pressure of his touring schedule, Elvis' vocals never seemed to suffer. He really gave his all for his fans.
Moody Blue was on the charts when Elvis died & was playing on the radio. I loved this song & I Loved Elvis with all my heart. When I heard STILL hear this song I get chills & tears..I loved Him so.
Me too 😢
Elvis ist und bleibt der Beste. ❤❤❤

This song was climbing the charts the day he died

Wow. I'm sorry to hear. Here in Melbourne, I know a guy who was born on 16 August, 1976, exactly one year prior.
Great performance! Elvis is the greatest! ❤
We saw Elvis at this concert. The Coliseum still stands and is still in full use.
That's GREAT!!! 🎵😊🎵
Fantastic! Did you also see Billy Graham? It's Billy's home town!
Nice rare live rendition of a good song. Elvis is still the king. Thank you for posting.
Elvis had brought a lot of joy in my life with his music, concerts and movies xx
What a fantastic live version of Moody Blue
Moody Blue sounded amazing live wish he would have sang Way Down live
Yes!
You're right. We (my family) just got back from Graceland last week, and my 13 & 9 yr old sons had a blast. But they hear daddy playing Elvis all the time...lol.......
Wish he had performed Moody Blue more often live

Felice di esser Fan.del piu' grande Cantante del Mondo...
Is The KING ELVIS 👑
El más grande Elvis.....
This was better than I expected - not perfect, but better than some of the Elvis critics had claimed.
desde las islas canarias, telde, ojos de garza,en vivo o no alucinante la cancion y la voz, esta si es la voz.
