I am impressed that these speakers held together for obviously being pushed past their audible limits for the low frequencies. The clarity is completely undistorted which is impressive considering how hard those speakers are working. The finish on the cabinets is beautiful.
This speakers are true audiophile stuff. I heard them and it was a surprise how well sounded in a big living room at my parent's house. amazing bass from the small enclosure.
@SoundEnegizrr LOL. you can't put too much bass into a speaker unless you're hitting the maximium handling power that the speaker can take which would make it sound distorted. So long as it sounds clean it's fine to run deep signals through it...
These Audiophile Speakers are one the greatest ever made by Kef you dont even need a Sub-woofer for 2 channels, the sweet spot is everything in front of you 75% greater than most speakers, you dont have to be moving them around at all cause the tweeter is located in the middle in the middle of the 6 1/2 aluminum woofer, same technology Canton uses, for a greater dispersion, this makes this model one of the clearest like a 3D effect, makes you feel in the middle of a live performance or as having several more speakers. their also a tad bigger than regular bookshelves allowing that tight bass to go even lower than most , to bad they dont make them any more, if your lucky to get a pair jump on them ,they are so very well made.
I agree these are great little speakers. No sub required these produce excellent lows. I really like them to listen to all sorts of EDM, keep the volume low or get into trouble with the neighbours. I also have a pair of Q300's, these are much more neutral to listen to. I prefer to listen to the IQ3's
@@outsideworld76 They are revealing transparent and unforgiving. A shitty recording will sound shitty through them. MP3's and other compressed formats don't sound good through them. That is not the fault of the speaker for delivering true fidelity. What I like is the subtle details they deliver. The newer models are more forgiving and a lot of people think that is an improvement. Well, to each their own.
Kids loving music with alot of bass is not bad, it also is a genre ''bass music''. Bass is fun, maybe later there will be more bass music because people/kids ask for it, just like language, it's always changing.
I didn't say he purchased the system just to watch the cones go in,and out exclusively for that reason, but I feel it's a big part of it. And, yes that's what I got from this video! Every picture tells a story.
@C815richard Of course bass is not everything in music. But it doesn't mean they don't know how to listen to music. There are people aswell that are obsesed with the trebbles, you can find speakers that goes up to 40 kHz and more... we are not able to listen to thoses frequencies, we simply don't hear them. Some people just enjoy bass, for the feelings they give, shaking floors, pressure in the ears. If you like a flat sound it's your choice, it's the same with people that like bass.
@C815richard i listen and appreciate all music... well most of it. :p i love my classic rock, i also enjoy throwing some classical in there every now n then. I just love my techno and all branches of it hence the bassloving side of me comes out to play lol. But thats what a subs for lol, oh i just turned 20 the other day... so we[i] can still appreciate good quality speakers/music. :D Ive been lookin for some kefs to run through my comp [i have crap logitech -.-'] what ones would u recommend?
nice speakers kef are one of the best speaker brands around but i dont think they were made to be punished like that thats insane amount of driver movement , if u played something decent on them instead of this muck then youll hear these speakers in their true quality . these are seriously good speakers, nxt time try enya music then these speakers will stun you with their true capabilities like their punchy bass line clean top and warm mid range and wide dynamics, it sounded like the drivers were bouncing out of the cabs,
@@jimcole2648 Kef Cresta 2 could be bought for £99 from Richer Sounds in 1998 and they received 5 gold stars from What Hi-Fi at the time. Telling me you can find better speakers at £50!?! Fuck off mate. Kef are great speakers any way you slice it. Want better? Look to Mission. And if you want better than Mission, pull out a few grand yeah. Then again, if money is no object, you can ALWAYS get better. Within their individual price brackets though, you are not getting any better even at the same price never mind half the price. Its why you said you could get better but never told us what it was that we could get that was better. You'd be hard pressed to come up with an answer to that too.
@C815richard Ahh..the technicalities. I have owned about 20 pair of bookshelfs and have tested them rigorously through different mid & high end amp sources. The action on his KEF's is normal, that is...if you enter into a musical realm other than the typical Country, Dire Straits, Classical, and Adult Contemporary (Hey Soul Sister Aint That Mr. Mister?). Fine job, Sybek! Chicks Dig Bass too!
@cewinvega its just because this song has extremely low bass and it takes like super subwoofer to pick them all up fully like car subs could do the song justice but his speakers are very nice looking but not much bass output more for like movies or easy listening music
I don't think he has an idea on what his system can handle, you can hear the amplifier clipping and you can hear the drivers bouncing off of their mechanical excursion limits.
BTW How you Say There Isnt Any? Try this song On Some Good Speakers... It Has very Low Bass which Makes them Move and the Camera doesnt pick up the bass
+Fusky The Husky yes I have heard and heard over 1000 speaker. In my profession and schooling as an audio engineer yes. I would say I have a qualified ear. But thanks for trolling.
To be fair he has them crosses over improperly and is playing music that took like 3 minutes to make over a shitty camera mic into youtube's audio compression system...
Good thing that tastes of the way how you like the sound differ and are subjective. Good Trolling by saying you are an audio engineer. You are nothing and disqualified yourself by your bad non knowledge included comment.
I have owned these for over 10 years and they still sound amassing. I have read every professional review I could find prior to purchasing them and have never seen a less than excellent review.
WOULD SOUND ALOT BETTER IF THE ROOMS ACOUSTICS WERE BETTER? I.E.CARPET AS WOODEN FLOORS MAKES THE SOUND VERY TINY AND EMPTY??EVEN A COUPLE OF RUGS WOULD DO THE TRICK.
Meu caro, essas caixas não suporta tanto grave assim, você vai fritar a bobina do falante que foi dimensionado para a faixa de médios, use um sub, aliás,essa música é ótima para teste.Apenas não direcionou as frequências para as caixas corretas...
:-) In any case speakers should be placed ON your "hi-fi" rack ! This is a non sense solution to spend money on a rather good CD player to kill the effect like this. Basses under 20hz will not do anything for music, this is just a visual effect to impress your friends and your own eyes ! Put thos IQ's on dedicated stand, throw away that 15 inches by the window ! :-) Or try to buy you some iQ70 or iQ90 and enjoy. Cheers. I am a pro bass player but hate to much basses on speakers ! ;-)
Sorry....but there seems to be a WAY excessive amount of woofer excursion going on here. I know this recording is nothing more than a bass test, but seriously. Any amount of money this guy has the bass control maxed out and/or the loudness compensation switched on.
Macht keinen Sinn.
You know these speakers cost about $700 correct? The sub costs quite a bit as well, they very obviously do have quite a bit of bass, you just are unable to hear it over a crappy youtube video.
So you really think he "obviously" purchased this system too watch the cones move??? You get that from experiencing only less than 4 minutes of his life??
I am impressed that these speakers held together for obviously being pushed past their audible limits for the low frequencies. The clarity is completely undistorted which is impressive considering how hard those speakers are working. The finish on the cabinets is beautiful.
Love watching the speakers move so freely and flawlessly! Great video!!!!!
nice flex from the Kefs, never before have I seen bass I love you played on a CD!
This speakers are true audiophile stuff. I heard them and it was a surprise how well sounded in a big living room at my parent's house. amazing bass from the small enclosure.
And this is why I don't buy used speakers, because of people abusing them like this.
Hardly abuse, this song just requires good speakers and subs. It plays very low frequencys
@@2Dankkk And need an Amp with very good damping factor to keep it all in control what's clearly missing here
I can't hear any mechanical noise or bottoming out, and these speakers should be able to handle the power so it isn't abuse.
the camera mic sound perfect too !!
ok guys. dont hate this video. he only did a one time test. its not like he does it every day

Your Kefs definitely need a high-pass filter, at least to avoid large excursion of the cone
holly shit excursion love it
I have the KEF iQ50 and i am very Happy with those Speakers...
but...what you are doing... doesnt this hurt the Speakers?
Playing Phuture Noize - Black mirror society on my IQ3's and it sounds sick, soooooooo much bass, love it!
looks like they are getting enough power:)

Wouldnt be running the speakers on the same frequency as the subs. Thats when they blow up
the subs only performs half of its capability. maybe the ceiling will collaps if they set to the max.
Please sand music link.
Those poor speakers! :'( have a heart man!
playing heavy bass like that can ruin the speakers D:! but nice speakers you got there :D keff is awesome :D
that camera mic has no bass response :)

which amp you using?

i reckon, get some speaker stands. then put your amplifier on the top of the glass table
