Karthik, I was initially planning to get a Honda Amaze Diesel Top for my 1st car as my budget was in the range of 10 lakhs. But, after checking out this, when I just checked out the Hyundai elite i20, it just had blown me. Ever since no turning back to Honda Amaze and now waiting for my i20 delivery next Sunday.

The space in the New Amaze is actually comparable to Yaris. It's better in some ways too. But with the Yaris you get a more premium cabin with better fit and finish.

probably the best compact sedan out there now, if they price it well. ivtec is a pain to drive in the city (car as well) which is ironic. Cities with dense traffic like bangalore , hyundai and suzuki petrol engines work better, they have better low speed power, however in this segment Amaze appears to be a solid competition to Dzire.

A good review by Karthikeya. But the videography is very poor team. There's a lot of pinkish hue when shots are captured while the car is in motion and the interiors featured are quite dark too. Shantnu Mehta I think if your running is high enough diesel would still make sense. But as it gets more expensive- it makes less and less sense. Diesels won’t be banned. But buying a small diesels is likely to become unviable after 2020 -2021.

We know Noise might have improved a little bit, but can you let us know how has Vibrations and Harshness improved in i-dtec MT variants? Also, how's gearbox in diesel, notchy and hard to operate? Is there any typical humming sound or booming experienced especially in rear seats?
varun sawant hey! Firstly, thank you for watching! The diesel has a new manual gearbox.. and .. it’s good! Slick and short throws! Overall refinement level on the engine is very impressive now. Hope that covers it! Take care!
ts is a good car but there is nothing that sets it apart from the competition, I think Honda would have made an impact if they gave 6 airbags at least on the top end variants, a driver side armrest would have given it an edge over the competition. I mean just consider this situation, at this point in time considering this is a Honda car, the price would be slightly more than that of other cars in the segment. that means the petrol top end will be close to 10 Lakhs at the time of release and there would not be a single rupee of discount that will be offered as it is a brand new car. So, for me investing around 1.2 Lakhs more would allow you to get a bigger "Honda City V" petrol manual model which offers everything that amaze offers in the top end except DRLs. it is a much more value for money choice and it also is a much bigger car, bigger boot, you get more head room and leg room in the rear, driver side armrest, which the Amaze does not get.

I test drive both Dzire as well as Amaze. In petrol variant it is Dzire far better and In Diesel no doubt it is amaze 2018.
Wait until Honda rolls out the variant details and expect them not to offer cvt in the top trim.

This review really covers quite a lot on pros and cons of Amaze, especially the one of glovebox, that's real good catch. We know Noise might have improved a little bit, but can you let us know how has Vibrations and Harshness improved in i-dtec MT variants? Also, how's gearbox in diesel, notchy and hard to operate? Is there any typical humming sound or booming experienced especially in rear seats?

ts is a good car but there is nothing that sets it apart from the competition, I think Honda would have made an impact if they gave 6 airbags at least on the top end variants, a driver side armrest would have given it an edge over the competition. I mean just consider this situation, at this point in time considering this is a Honda car, the price would be slightly more than that of other cars in the segment. that means the petrol top end will be close to 10 Lakhs at the time of release and there would not be a single rupee of discount that will be offered as it is a brand new car. So, for me investing around 1.2 Lakhs more would allow you to get a bigger "Honda City V" petrol manual model which offers everything that amaze offers in the top end except DRLs. it is a much more value for money choice and it also is a much bigger car, bigger boot, you get more head room and leg room in the rear, driver side armrest, which the Amaze does not get.
